Born in 1983, grew up in Toggenburg (Switzerland). From 2004 to 2010 Joël Jent pursued a program of study in film, political science and social/economic history at University of Zurich, which he completed in 2010 with a Master of Arts degree. He then worked briefly as a journalist and secondary school teacher. Since 2003, Joël Jent has written and produced several short- and feature films, including films under his own direction. He produced the Award winning films "Baghdad in my Shadow" and "Iraqi Odyssey" as well as the live-action short films "Bon Voyage" and "Facing Mecca" (Student Academy Award, 2017). Joël Jent lectures at Zurich Art University and is a member of the European- as well as the Swiss Film Academy. He lives in Zurich and works as an independent screenwriter and filmmaker.
