Synthwave outfit Gunship is back with a claymation sequel ten years after unleashing 80s-inspired retrosynth cult classic “Tech Noir.”

Paying tribute to classic ’80s and ’90s genre blockbuster culture, the new single and claymation video is appropriately titled “Tech Noir 2” and reunites fans with the band’s vivid retro-futuristic world, pushing their audiovisual storytelling into heartwarming territory.

The video’s story follows “a young girl whose obsession with arcade glory accidentally leads to her baby brother’s abduction by the arch-villain from the original Tech Noir video. To rescue him, she must venture into a video game world and channel the power of legendary gaming heroes. As an added touch, fans who won Gunship’s online competition will spot their initials immortalised in the in-video arcade high-score table.”

The original video was directed by acclaimed animator Lee Hardcastle and featured horror master John Carpenter, who lent his voice to the opening monologue.

Hulu is cutting ties with Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites co-creator Justin Roiland following charges of felony domestic abuse against his former partner. Hulu, which hosts Solar Opposites and the new series Koala Man, is ending its association with Roiland after allegations came to light. Roiland was an executive producer and voice actor on Solar Opposites and Koala Man.

“We have ended our association with Justin Roiland,” Hulu and 20th TV Animation said. Thankfully for both series fans, Solar Opposites and Koala Man will continue without Roiland’s involvement. The same goes for Rick and Morty, whose team is busy creating episodes for Season 7.

Celebrate the Halloween season in psychedelic fashion with Summer's Sleepover. The Rick and Morty Halloween special finds the titular Smith kid and her friends Nancy and Tricia having their sleepover interrupted by an alien creature who escaped from Rick's stash. They soon realize his cute appearance is hiding a darker nature.

Summer's Sleepover comes from Lee Hardcastle, the director well-known for the "T is for Toilet" segment in The ABC's of Death. Much like his prior work, the Rick and Morty Halloween special proves to be a trippy dive into the beloved Adult Swim show's world with everything fans of the series have come to expect, as well as a completely fresh approach to the material.

Regular viewers of Adult Swim probably know animator Lee Hardcastle from his work on those 15-second skits that often play between commercials. Those segments, called "The Non-Canonical Adventures of Rick and Morty," are wonderful, slightly-unsettling treats for "Rick and Morty" fans, throwing the show's characters into quick movie parodies in a delightfully eerie claymation style. If you don't know Hardcastle from that, you may have been introduced to him through his work on "The ABCs of Death," or his "Simpsons couch gag" shorts. They're violent and often horrifying, but so well-done that you can't help but keep watching. 

His latest project was released on Adult Swim at midnight last night: "Summer's Sleepover," a spooky 10-minute short about a sleepover gone horribly wrong. Hardcastle was nice enough to speak to us about his work on the special and his animation career in general.

I’ll be honest right up front and admit that I have never seen a single episode of Rick and Morty. I have completely missed out on this pop culture phenomenon. I know there are shades of Back to the Future to it, I’ve heard about Pickle Rick and the love of Szechuan Sauce. But I haven’t actually seen any of it. But I am familiar with the work of Claymation filmmaker Lee Hardcastle, who has made a lot of cool shorts, created the music video for the Gunship song “Tech Noir”, and contributed to the horror anthology The ABCs of Death. Horror frequently pops up in animated series “Rick and Morty,” both in the episodes and in promos for new seasons. So it’s no surprise that even though season six won’t arrive until late November, “Rick and Morty” still found a way to celebrate Halloween.

The team behind “Rick and Morty” has enlisted the talent of animator Lee Hardcastle (The ABCs of Death) once again, this time with a brand new Claymation horror short titled “Summer’s Sleepover.”

An unexpected guest arrive at Summer’s sleepover party and livens things up in this trippy horror short. “Summer’s Sleepover” premieres Sunday, 10/30 at Midnight Et on Adult Swim, next day globally on HBO Max and on Adult Swim’s YouTube channel. Expect the unexpected in this wacky world.

The gory social-experiment horror flick The Belko Experiment comes out tomorrow, but parties interested in getting a dose of its brand of visceral workplace brutality are in luck. Filmmakers Greg McLean and James T. Gunn teamed up with animator Lee Hardcastle, a stop-motion specialist with a taste for the macabre, to make a trilogy of incredibly violent short films. At around half a minute each, they provide a decidedly low-investment way to see what it looks like when a cute claymation toy gets mowed down by an assault rifle or beaten to death or has its head exploded or, well, has its head exploded again. There are a lot of heads exploding.

I've got three absolutely disturbing claymation videos for you to watch today featuring the brutally bloody deaths of people. Seriously, this is some insanely jacked-up stuff that is completely demented. So if you're anything like me, I'm sure you'll love it!

With the March 17 release date fast approaching, Blumhouse Tilt has released another new clip for the sadistic thriller The Belko Experiment, which offers a bloody look at the gruesome workplace violence. This clip in particular features a glimpse at Sean Gunn's Marty Espenscheid trying to come to grips with everything happening around him, telling himself that it's "all in my mind." Unfortunately for him, that isn't exactly what's happening, in this clip that not only features some new footage, but also a few quotes from the nation's critics.

Blumhouse Tilt debuted this clip on YouTube, which also features Abraham Benrubi as Chet Valincourt, who begs Marty to "get down" under one of the tables like he is positioned. I've always enjoyed the insane claymation short films of Lee Hardcastle. He's made a good amount of these shorts over the years, and they are always crazy and violent. He was commissioned to make a claymation short film for James Gunn and Greg McLean's upcoming film The Belko Experiment, and it's super bloody and violent! If you are sensitive to claymation people, then I suggest you don't watch because they die in all kinds of horrible ways. Enjoy!

Today we have a new video that doesn't exactly show any footage from the movie, but instead offers a glimpse at what the movie might look like in claymation. “Rick and Morty” is back and this time in clay form. With Season 3 of the animated series expected to return soon, Adult Swim has shared series of claymation shorts, titled “Rick and Morty: The Non-Canonical Adventures,” starring the characters of the show.

Created by Lee Hardcastle, the films last around between 16 to 30 seconds and feature Rick and Morty in scenes from horror and sci-fi films. In one clip, the duo take on the “Ex Machina” dance scene and shows Morty’s crush Jessica as the robot, with Rick as Oscar Isaac’s character and Morty as Domhnall Gleeson’s Caleb.

The 2015 Sundance Film Festival is currently in full swing, with tonight marking the world premiere of the futuristic coming-of-age thriller Turbo Kid. If you aren't in Park City, Utah to check it out, Epic Pictures has just released the first trailer for the feature film debut of directors Anouk Whissell, Fran&#231ois Simard and Yoann-Karl Whissell. The movie first began as a short film, as a contest entry for the horror anthology The ABCs of Death. While it eventually lost out to Lee Hardcastle's T is for Toilet, producer Ant Timpson asked the filmmakers if they would consider turning their story into a full-length feature.

The story is set in the ruined post-apocalyptic world of 1997, and follows an orphan known as The Kid (Munro Chambers), who survives on his own through a drought-ridden nuclear winter, traversing the Wasteland on his BMX, scavenging for scraps to trade for a scant supply of water.

Channel Frederator refuses to stay out of the headlines as it continues to rack up more animation content partners like it’s the end of the world. The multi-channel network started by animation industry veteran Fred Seibert has just added 185 new channels to its already-huge lineup of content creators.

Frederator’s new members include Domics, Lee Hardcastle, and CyberToons. The Domics channel has over 850,000 subscribers and features musings and stories from the life of owner Dominic Panganiban. Hardcastle creates not-for-children claymation (a form of art Seth Green’s Stoopid Buddy Stoodios wants to teach people) enjoyed by his 100,000+ subscribers. Finally, CyberToons turns famous YouTubers and videos into animations; though the channel doesn’t appear to uploaded a video since 2011, its partnership with Channel Frederator could rectify this lack of updates.

Right from the start, the anthology horror film The ABCs of Death, produced by Ant Timpson and Tim League, came with one major handicap: The film is divided into twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director (spanning fifteen countries), and each assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were given carte blanche to indulge in their most grotesque impulses. Each letter is presented sequentially, and the director’s chosen word is revealed only at the end of each short – sometimes as a punch line or a revelation, and often to underscore or enlighten the segment’s theme. (weaker efforts find the directors taking a cheat). The problem is a lack of cohesion.

The ABCs of Death 2 now officially has a release date and it is just in time for Halloween. The film will be released by Magnet and Drafthouse Films on VOD on October 2nd and a limited theatrical run a few weeks later on the 31st .

The sequel is a follow-up to 2012’s horror anthology The ABCs of Death and, like its predecessor, will contain 26 short horror films by some of the genre’s greatest minds. As expected with so many shorts, the original was a bit of a mixed bag. There were certainly some incredible shorts like D is for Dogfight directed by Marcel Sarmiento, T is for Toilet by Lee Hardcastle, U is for Unearthed by Ben Wheatley, X is for Xxl by Xavier Gens, and the disgusting L is for Libido by Timo Tjahjanto. Lee Hardcastle is a whiz with Claymation. So much so that he won The ABC's of Death contest with his short T Is for Toilet, which was included in the film. Now Hardcastle has released a horror short entitled Fun with Black Bulbs. Check it out.

The entire short is one minute and 30 seconds long. How much tension can you build in one minute and 30 seconds? Hardcastle manages to do a pretty fantastic job of making your toes curl in a minute and a half. It's an impressive short that you're sure to dig.

About Fun with Black Bulbs, Hardcastle says, "[It's] a simple trick you can do yourself but one you might regret because it can be pretty creepy what you find around the home. Try it; you'll be surprised."

Claymation master Lee Hardcastle has creation a version of Ghostbusters 3 inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino. Hardcastle is known for his incredibly funny and violent claymation films, and just in case you missed any of them, you can click here to watch his disturbing work. I would actually love to see Tarantino write and direct Ghostbusters 3! That movie would be amazing, and I'm sure Bill Murray would have no issues with reprising his role if that were they case.

Look, I don't quite understand the point of making "Ghostbusters 3" as a Claymation Quentin Tarantino homage either, but then again who cares? Much ado has been made about who will be directing the long-gestating next installment in the beloved Ghostbusters film franchise, leaving many fans to imagine what the movie would be like if their favorite filmmaker was at the helm.

One of those fans is Lee Hardcastle, who made a name for himself with the ABCs of Death short film "T is for Toilet." A master of the art of claymation, Hardcastle just put together a hilarious little short that imagines a world wherein Quentin Tarantino is hired to direct Ghostbusters 3.

It essentially places the iconic characters into situations ripped straight out of films like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill.

As you might imagine, the results are absolutely hilarious, and the claymation trailer is needless to say quite the treat for those who appreciate both Ghostbusters and the uber-violent brand of cinema that Tarantino specializes in. Can't say I...
