While the HBO adaptation of Ray Bradbury's 1953 dystopian novelFahrenheit 451underperformed when it was initially released, the film is now finally seeing some success on streaming.

Per FlixPatrol, Fahrenheit 451 now ranks as the #10 most streamed film on HBO in the United States as of Aug. 1. The film falls just behind A Minecraft Movie at #9 and is also the second Michael B. Jordan film on the chart, with Sinners claiming the #2 spot. The TV movie directed by Ramin Bahrani, best known for 99 Homes, stars Jordan as Guy Montag, a "fireman" whose job is to burn books. The 2018 adaptation came about over fifty years after the 1966 version, directed by François Truffaut and starring Julie Christie, Oskar Werner, and Cyril Cusack.

Fahrenheit 451 (2018) follows Guy Montag, a fireman living in Cleveland working under Captain Beatty (Michael Shannon). As a Fireman, Guy must burn books that have been banned in the United States.

Michael B. Jordan first broke out on television with his role as Wallace in the inaugural season of HBO's highly acclaimed drama, The Wire (2002). He subsequently appeared as a series regular on the ABC soap opera All My Children (2003–2006) and later delivered a standout performance in the NBC sports drama Friday Night Lights (2009–2011).

In the past decade, Jordan has become best known for his collaborations with writer-director Ryan Coogler – including Fruitvale Station (2013), Creed (2015), Black Panther (2018), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), and Sinners (2025) – all of which earned him critical acclaim. He returned to his titular role in Creed II (2018) and Creed III (2023), the latter marking his directorial debut.

Jordan's broader filmography also includes roles in Chronicle (2012), That Awkward Moment (2014), Fantastic Four (2015), and Just Mercy (2019), in which he played civil rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson. However, it's Jordan's dystopian movie, adapted from an acclaimed book, that is seeing a resurgence on streaming, seven years after its initial release.

Comic book adaptations aren't just ruling the box office right now, they're also proving to be popular at home. The noir thriller series Revival is creeping up the streaming charts, as it nears the climax of its first season. The show opened to mostly positive reviews, and has been equally beloved by audiences. Revivalis based on the popular Image Comics title of the same name, written by Tim Seeley and illustrated by Mike Norton. It is yet another 2025 series about, to paraphrase my colleague’s summary of The Better Sister, two estranged sisters simultaneously bonded and torn apart by trauma — only in this case, the circumstances of their reunion involve the dead suddenly coming back to life. Which might suggest zombie action à la The Last of Us, except these resurrected have no evident interest in eating anyone’s brains, just in returning to their old lives.

One of said sisters (Melanie Scrofano’s Dana) is a police detective with a personal investment in the case of a murdered young woman; I’m sure you can fill in your own point of comparison from any number of noir-laced shows here.

This won the Best Actress & Best Director & Best Debut Film awards in the Orizzonti section at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, then went on to play at the Vancouver, London, Tromso, Singapore, AFI Fest, New Films/New Directors Film Festivals as well. Familiar Touch is a coming-of-old-age film about an older woman dealing with memory loss. It's lead by a remarkable performance by Tony nominee Kathleen Chalfant as Ruth. Made in close collaboration with residents of a retirement community, it challenges the perceptions around aging and sensitively depicts the complexities around intimacy and desire in later life. The film follows the winding path of octogenarian Ruth's shifting memories and desires while remaining rooted in her sage perspective.

Versant, the Comcast-owned company that houses former NBCUniversal cable networks including E!, USA Network and Syfy, has unveiled its first programming slate since being split off.

A new drama for USA Network and a new reality show from Kimora Lee Simmons lead the way for the slate, which is the first under President of Entertainment Val Boreland. There will be 16 new series across E!, USA Network, Syfy, and Oxygen True Crime.

USA and Syfy announced premiere dates for the new season of Resident Alien starring Alan Tudyk and the series premiere of Revival. Fans will get to catch up with their favorite visitor from outer space when Resident Alien returns for season four on June 6, 2025 at 11pm Et/Pt on USA and Syfy. Revival, based on the Image Comics series, debuts on Syfy on June 12th at 10pm Et/Pt.

In addition to Tudyk, season four stars Sara Tomko, Alice Wetterlund, Corey Reynolds, Elizabeth Bowen, Levi Fiehler, Meredith Garretson, and Judah Prehn. Guest stars include Gary Farmer, Gracelyn Awad Rinke, Jenna Lamia, Sarah Podemski, Linda Hamilton, Enver Gjokaj, Terry O’Quinn, Edi Patterson, Jewel Staite, and Stephen Root.

NBCUniversal has announced that Resident Alien Season 4 will premiere on Friday, June 6 at 11 p.m. Et/Pt on both USA and Syfy, while the series premiere of the comic adaptation Revival debuts on Thursday, June 12 at 10 p.m. on Syfy.

The episodes from both series will be available to stream on Peacock one week after they air on USA and Syfy.

Based on the Dark Horse comics, Resident Alien follows a crash-landed alien named Harry and his life on planet Earth. The fourth season starts with Harry and his baby, Bridget, stuck in prison on the Grey Moonbase, while a shape-shifting Alien called a Mantid has taken over his body on Earth, passing himself off as the real Harry Vanderspeigle.

Harry manages to escape the Greys and arrives back on Earth for a showdown with the Mantid Alien, but soon finds he may not have what he needs to finish the job.

The dead come back to life in “Revival,” but this isn’t a zombie series. Syfy is bringing the comic book adaptation to the small screen, and the official trailer has arrived.

“Revival” premieres Thursday, June 12 at 10pm Et/Pt on Syfy. Each episode will head to Peacock the following week.

Almost a year after Resident Alien moved from Syfy to NBCUniversal sibling USA Network with a suspenseful Season 4 renewal, a premiere date has been set for said Season 4 and, surprisingly, it involves both the sci-fi comedy-drama’ new and old homes.

Exclusive: UTA has inked filmmaker and choreographer Sarah Friedland whose movie Familiar Touch made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last fall.

Friedland’s debut feature film received both the Lion of the Future – Luigi De Laurentiis Award for Debut Film and the Horizons Award for Best Director at Venice.

Music Box has acquired North American rights to “Familiar Touch,” Sarah Friedland’s feature debut which won three major awards in Venice including the Lion of the Future prize.
