Born in Cuba, in a time where Cubans were not allowed to exit the country, his father fought very hard for 2 years to obtain him the French nationality. As the doors to the entire world suddenly opened to him, Yohan promised himself to truly make the best out of it.

He started his first year of filmmaking in 2011 with 4 short films selected at the Short Film Corner in the Cannes Film Festival. Some of which he co-directed and co-produced with Payam Azadi. Ten years later, they're still working together, co-directing their first feature film, Sam & Kyle.

Elder son of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm4436902/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Tania Martinez</a>.

Elder brother of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm4450522/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Jean Marcos Martinez Morales</a>.

He is often associated with <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm8609503/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Payam Azadi</a>. They studied and learned cinematographic techniques at the same time, and became film partners since then.
