The mysterious serial killer is at the center of an otherworldly investigation in the faux-true crime documentary from Grave Encounters writer-director Stuart Ortiz.

Strange Harvest opens in theaters next week on August 8 via Saban Films and Roadside Attractions.

A routine welfare check in the San Bernardino suburbs leads to a gruesome discovery: a family of three has been bound, bled, and posed below a strange symbol written in blood on the ceiling. Saban Films and Roadside Attractions have just released the trailer for the chilling new found footage horror film Strange Harvest. The movie comes from writer-director Stuart Ortiz, who is known for Grave Encounters. Strange Harvest is a hauntingly grounded thriller that introduces “Mr. Shiny,” a serial killer at the center of a terrifying and otherworldly mystery. The movie uses various methods of voyeuristic point-of-views in a twist on the usual found footage formula as we see the action through webcams, news outlets and body cams.
