Minmini is a Tamil coming-of-age film written and directed by Halitha Shameem. The movie tells a touching story about two schoolboys, Paari and Sabari. It begins with Paari bullying Sabari, the new student in school. But over time, they become good friends. The first part of the film shows their school life, the fun moments in class, and the strong bond they build.

The second half of the film jumps forward in time. Now grown up, Paari and Sabari go on a bike trip through the Himalayan mountains. The story mainly focuses on Sabari, who is dealing with guilt from his past. As they travel together, the film shows how childhood memories and past events shape their adult lives.

Chennai, Nov 22 (Ians) Music maestro A.R Rahman’s daughter Khatija Rahman is now set to make her international debut, as she will compose the soundtrack for the film ‘Lioness’, which is an India-uk co-production directed by filmmaker Kajri Babbar.

Making her debut as a film composer in the upcoming Tamil film ‘Minmini’ which is currently in-the-works, Khatija released her first single ‘Farishton’ in 2020, which was composed and produced by her Oscar-winning father.

She later featured on Grammy Award-winning composer and environmentalist Ricky Kej’s song ‘Iltaja’ and collaborated with Tamil rapper-playback singer Arivu on his track ‘Sagavaasi’.

In 2020, Rahman released her first single, “Farishton,” composed and produced by her father, Oscar winner A.R. Rahman (“Slumdog Millionaire”). Oscar and Grammy winning composer A R Rahman has teamed up with renowned violinist Dr. L Subramaniam to honour the art and legacy of the late musician professor V Lakshminarayana and to celebrate commonality and the gift of life virtually at the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival.

The collaboration is symbolic of the friendship between their families which goes back two generations. The tale goes that Rahman’s father, composer, arranger and musician Rk Sekar, and Subramaniam’s father, Prof. V Lakshminarayana, used to live on the same street in Mylapore, Chennai. The prodigious musical folks have been in artistic and goodwill communion since.

The special collaboration centres on ‘Don’t Leave Me’, a song composed by Dr. L Subramaniam, that Rahman grew up with.
