'Horizon 2' Intimacy Coordinator Reveals Details Following Sexual Assault Scene Complaint
Image
The plot is beginning to thicken with the claims of sexual harassment, infliction of emotional distress, and discrimination being alleged by stunt performer Devyn Labella. She has claimed that she endured all of this treatment while working on Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2, a film directed by and starring Kevin Costner. As the story continues to unfold, an intimacy coordinator on the project has come forward with a two-page report that adds some validity to Labella's claims.

Per Variety, the intimacy coordinator on Horizon 2, Celeste Chaney, points to several protocols that weren't followed while filming an unscripted rape scene that Labella alleges she was asked to perform without any warning. In the report, Chaney says there were "numerous problems" with the particular scene, most notably that there was no intimacy coordinator present. Chaney also alleges that Labella did not consent to Costner's direction of the scene...

‘Horizon’ Intimacy Coordinator Says “Protocols Were Abandoned” Over Scene With Stunt Woman That Led To Sexual Harassment Suit
Image
The intimacy coordinator who worked on the set of Kevin Costner’s Horizon called the scene at the heart of a stunt woman’s lawsuit against producers and Costner an “unscheduled, unplanned violent rape scene” that “was unexpectedly sprung on the actors and stunt professionals.”

The claims were made by Celeste Chaney, whose inquiry into the incident during the rehearsal of a scene on the set of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 in May 2023 was attached as an exhibit to stunt woman Devyn Labella’s amended complaint filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court. That’s where she filed her original suit earlier this year alleging she was subject to sexual harassment and while standing in for star Ella Hunt during on the second of Costner’s planned four-movie Western epic.

Chaney detailed in her two-page inquiry report that the scene rehearsal was to include Hunt, who “was...

‘Horizon 2’ Intimacy Coordinator Documented Rape Scene Complaint: ‘Protocols Were Abandoned’
Image
The intimacy coordinator on “Horizon 2” wrote a two-page report documenting lapses in protocols during filming of an unscripted rape scene.

Devyn Labella, a stunt performer, sued Kevin Costner — the director, writer, star, financier and producer of the film — last month, alleging that she was shaken and humiliated after being forced to perform in the scene without warning.

The report, written by Celeste Chaney, cited “numerous problems” with the scene, including that no intimacy coordinator was present, Labella was not given “modesty garments,” and she did not consent to Costner’s impromptu direction.

“She was put ‘on the spot,’ placed in a vulnerable, compromising situation and then asked if she was ‘okay to continue’ with everyone standing by,” Chaney wrote in the report.

Labella sued Costner and the production for sexual harassment, discrimination and infliction of emotional distress. Labella was the stunt performer for Ella Hunt, the actor who portrayed “Juliette” in the film.

Kevin Costner Sued By ‘Horizon 2’ Stunt Performer Over An ‘Unscripted’ & ‘Violent’ Rape Scene
Image
Stunt performer Devyn Labella filed a lawsuit against Kevin Costner over an improvised rape scene on the set of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter Two in 2023.

According to the lawsuit filed on May 27 in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the Horizon series, production company Territory Pictures and Costner, Labella claimed she experienced sexual harassment, hostile work environment and intentional infliction of emotional distress during her time on set.

The release date of the film Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter Two has been delayed indefinitely. Much like its predecessor, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter One, the film was negatively received by critics at the Venice Film Festival.

The complaint notes that the “violent, unscripted, unscheduled” rape scene happened during filming in Utah on May 2, 2023. The stunt performer mentioned that filming the scene left her ashamed, damaged her career and left her permanently traumatized.

The lawsuit also noted that she entered...

Kevin Costner's Epic Western Is Hit With Yet Another Blow as 'Yellowstone' Star's Struggles Continue
Image
Kevin Costner’sHorizon: An American Saga was supposed to be his legacy project – a sweeping four-part Western that he co-wrote, directed, and partly financed himself. But what began as a passion project now seems to be unraveling before the industry’s eyes, as the series faces one setback after another. This week, Costner’s production company, Horizon Series, was hit with yet another legal challenge. United Costume Corporation has filed a breach of contract lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging the company failed to pay for more than $340,000 in costume rentals used for Chapter 1 and Chapter 2of the saga. The lawsuit cites two invoices – one from 2022 totaling roughly $58,000, and another from 2023 for approximately $285,000 – both of which remain unpaid and are now accruing interest.

The filing adds further weight to reports that Horizon is suffering from significant budget shortfalls. Earlier this month, New Line Cinema filed an arbitration claim against...

A stuntwoman on Kevin Costner's western epic Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 is suing the director and star, along with the film's production companies, for sexual discrimination, harassment and the creation of a hostile work environment over an alleged unscripted rape scene she was subjected to during filming in May 2023. According to the lawsuit, Devyn Labella, the lead stunt double for Ella Hunt, had to step in when Costner improvised the scene involving Hunt's character, Juliette. Stunt Double Sues Kevin Costner Over Alleged Unscripted Rape Scene
Kevin Costner in Rumor Has It... (2005)
A stunt performer has accused Kevin Costner of sexual harassment and breach of contract, filing a civil action in Los Angeles Superior Court on 27 May against the actor-director and the companies behind Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2. Plaintiff Devyn Labella, stunt double for lead actress Ella Hunt, alleges she was ordered to act in a “violent, unscripted” rape scene during filming in Utah on 2 May 2023 after Hunt reportedly walked off set. The complaint says Costner directed a male actor to pin Labella down in a wagon while cameras rolled on an open set, actions she claims were neither rehearsed nor disclosed in advance.

Labella argues the episode violated SAG-AFTRA rules that require at least 48 hours’ notice, performer consent and the presence of an intimacy coordinator for scenes involving nudity or simulated sex; those safeguards had been in place for a separate scripted assault filmed the previous day. In a statement,...

Kevin Costner and his Horizon: An American Saga franchise are already facing legal action from New Line over a cofinancing deal, and now the star/director of the Western series has been hit with a sexual harassment suit by a veteran stuntwoman over an unscheduled, unrehearsed “violent unscripted” rape scene.

In its half-century of running, SNL has become a comedic institution unmatched in television history. Conceived by Lorne Michaels, the visionary who still helms the show to this day, SNL follows an iconic structure that consists of a celebrity host (and monologue),a musical guest, sketches performed by a principal cast, a weekend update news segment, and, always, the declaration of the iconic, "live from New York it's Saturday Night."

A vast number of industry legends have gotten their start on SNL, including the likes of Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Adam Sandler, Tina Fey, and Mike Myers. However, few people know the truth behind SNL's chaotic origins in 1975, or how close the beloved show was to failing to exist at all. Luckily, this is the...

Dylan O'Brien's Success Continues on Streaming After Twinless World Premiere
Image
Dylan O'Brien's breakout role was Stiles Stilinski in the MTV supernatural teen series Teen Wolf, but since the show's ending, he has established himself as a successful actor. He's had his own dystopian trilogy, The Maze Runner, starred in the two-time Oscar-nominated film Deepwater Horizon, and his latest roles have cemented him as a very successful star.

In 2024, O'Brien attempted a different role as he played a real person on Saturday Night. The film is based on the late-night live sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, most specifically the show's premiere night in 1975, and O'Brien played Dan Aykroyd. Following the critical success of the film, Saturday Night is a new hit on Netflix, Tudum reports.

Saturday Night
Image
Saturday Night would make for a very solid double-bill with a Muppets movie. And not just because there are Muppets in it — well, primitive Muppets, at least, in the form of early Jim Henson creations King Ploobis and Vazh. Because much like one of Kermit and co’s capers, it’s all about putting on a show, and how much stress, anxiety and arm-flapping goes into playing music and lighting lights. At the centre of Jason Reitman’s movie, essentially playing the role of the frog, is the cardigan-wearing Lorne Michaels (Gabriel Labelle), young Canadian TV producer and wannabe revolutionary of the medium. He’s the sensible one. Around him swirls chaos, in many forms. There’s even an Animal stand-in, in the burly shape of John Belushi (Matt Wood), cocaine appreciator and walking tornado.

This is, however, far from family viewing. NBC’s sketch-comedy series Saturday Night Live (known...

Julia Stiles' directorial debut Wish You Were Here is now playing in theaters and enlists Isabelle Fuhrman as its female protagonist, a familiar face cinephiles might know best from the pair of Orphan films that have been released thus far. Miss Yellowstone? Kevin Costner's Taylor Sheridan Neo-Western Replacement Is Now Available Online
Image
Following his exit from Yellowstone, Kevin Costner moved on to a different Western project, which premiered in 2024 but is now available on streaming. Costner starred as John Dutton III in the first four and a half seasons of Taylor Sheridan's popular TV show. However, in between parts 1 and 2 of Yellowstone season 5, news broke that the actor was leaving the series. Given that Costner's John was the face of the neo-Western drama, his exit came as a big surprise to many.

Taylor Sheridan's upcoming Yellowstone spinoffs and prequels include 1923 season 2, The Madison, 6666, 1944, and an untitled Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler sequel series.

In the months following the announcement of Costner's Yellowstone exit, more details regarding why he left emerged. However, many were also concerned with how Sheridan would write John out of the series. The Yellowstone season 5, part 2 premiere revealed John's fate, and the show was never the same.

'SNL' Celebrates 50th Anniversary With "More Cowbell" Documentary Episode
Image
Over its 50-year history, Saturday Night Live (SNL) has dominated pop culture with some hilarious breakout sketches. Skits like "Porn Teacher" (with Amy Schumer), "Black Jeopardy with Tom Hanks," the controversial "Harry Potter: Hermione Growth Spurt" (with Lindsay Lohan), and Adam Driver's amazing "Star Wars Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base" are all fan favorites. However, if there's one skit that has gotten stuck in fans' heads more than any other, it has to be the infamous "More Cowbell" skit featuring Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken. A new docuseries, titled SNL 50: Beyond Saturday Night, is looking at the show's long history, with an entire episode dedicated to the beloved sketch.

The skit makes fun of Blue Öyster Cult's hit song "Don't Fear the Reaper," or, to be more specific, the incessant amount of cowbell present in the track. "This is beyond my wildest dreams that you’re making a documentary about the cowbell sketch,...

Saturday Night Live | Four part documentary to kick off 50th anniversary celebrations
Saturday Night Live (1975)
Iconic American comedy show Saturday Night Live turns 50 this year, kicking off the celebrations is a four part documentary.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Saturday Night Live is responsible for launching the careers of a huge amount of American comedy talent, from the early days with Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, John Belushi, and Bill Murray, through eras with the much missed Phil Hartman, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Molly Shannon, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig and many, many more.

This month sees the release of Saturday Night in the UK, following its release in the US last year. It’s a new film from Jason Reitman, who co-wrote the script with Gil Keenan, and it dramatizes the chaotic, stressful ninety minutes leading up to the very first show in 1975. Kevin Costner's Horizon Beats Furiosa at the Streaming Game on Netflix After Both Flopped in Theaters
Image
In recent years, people needed a good reason to go to the theater and spend money and several hours on a film after the rise of the streaming services. 2024 was a guessing game at the box office because many blockbusters failed to bring the numbers they intended, Kevin Costner's Western Horizon: An American Saga: Chapter 1 and Furiosa: A Mad Max Story included.

On paper, the two films had what it took to become a success story at the box office. A star-studded cast, a popular pre-existent IP in Furiosa's case, and generous budgets. Following their unfortunate theatrical run, Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 and Furiosa: A Mad Max Story became successful on Netflix following their release on the platform last week, entering the top 10.

Kevin Costner's Western film series, Horizon: An American Saga, gets rewarded for saddling up on streaming following its box-office collapse. Chapter 1 of Horizon breaks new ground following its recent Netflix debut, offering some hope before the eventual release of Chapter 2.

Via FlixPatrol, Chapter 1 ranks #10 on Netflix's Top 10 Movies chart, achieving the feat after being added to the streaming service in late 2024. This news comes after the first Horizon installment originally found solace in the streaming world last summer, debuting on Max when New Line Cinema and Costner's Territory Pictures pulled the film from theaters. ‘Saturday Night’ Director Jason Reitman Says Chevy Chase Told Him He “Should Be Embarrassed” About Film
Image
Saturday Night filmmaker Jason Reitman received quite a critical review for his film from one of the original SNL castmembers.

During a recent episode of the Fly on the Wall podcast, the director revealed Chevy Chase’s reaction to the movie, prefacing, “Chevy loves to say the thing you’re not supposed to say.” The film follows the chaotic 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of SNL in 1975.

“So, Chevy comes in to watch the movie, and he is there with [wife] Jayni and they watch the film, and he’s in the group, and he comes up to me after and he pats me on the shoulder and goes, ‘Well, you should be embarrassed,’” Reitman recalled to hosts David Spade and Dana Carvey.
