Netflix's New Medical Drama Continues to Lose Life on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
After four days of watching Netflix's new medical drama series, critics and viewers have a prognosis, and it's not looking good. Pulse had a lukewarm debut on Thursday, April 3, when the entire season dropped on Netflix. "The biggest issue with Netflix's Pulse is its lack of identity," said Collider's Isabella Soares in her review. A new score on Rotten Tomatoes reveals that it's on the decline, currently sitting at a 47% critic score and 46% audience score. Some things are rare on the review aggregator, including an almost identical critic and audience score. Typically, each party sees things differently, but with Pulse, there is a shared one. The show had been likened to Grey's Anatomy before it premiered, but they couldn't be different, with Grey's Anatomy's score double that of Pulse.

Hailing from Zoe Robyn and Carlton Cuse, Pulse shows what happens when Miami's busiest Level 1 hospital faces a natural disaster.

Netflix's 'Grey's Anatomy' Wannabe Earns a Surprising Rotten Tomatoes Score
Image
For over 20 years, Grey's Anatomy has dominated as the most popular medical drama and one of the most popular drama shows ever. As a result, any new medical drama is benchmarked against it. Shows in this category are seeing a resurgence as streaming platforms develop their takes on it, and for Netlflix, that comes in the form of Pulse. Set in Miami's business Level 1 Trauma Center, the show explores the challenges of the medical field amid workplace drama. Even if the creators don't want that, Pulse has been compared to Grey's Anatomy. However, the show has not received as much acclaim from critics or the audience. On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Pulse Season 1 has earned a measly 53% critic score. The audience side is not better at just 54% percent. The show has brought critics and viewers together, who normally don't see things from the same perspective. In contrast, Grey's Anatomy...

Impressions: Scream: The TV Series’ Halloween Special is Filled With Plenty of Tricks and Treats for Fans
It’s no secret that I adore MTV’s Scream: The TV Series, as I recently prattled on about its virtues here. The second season recently wrapped up, and it was during the final Scream: After Dark (the chat/spoof show that airs right after each new episode of Scream) when we learned that all the Lakewood survivors would be reuniting in October for a very special Scream Halloween two-hour episode.

The special airs on Tuesday night (10/18) at 9:00pm Et, and for those of you who enjoy Scream: The TV Series, you should undoubtedly have fun with this special series event, as it does a great job of keeping the initial Scream storyline going, but also gives us a bit of a one-off storyline as well, just in time for everyone’s favorite horror-filled holiday.

*Spoiler Warning: While I would never include spoilers related to the Scream Halloween Special here,...
