And that's just July. Now, new trailers give us an idea of what we might be watching in August, starting with a look at the second season of Twisted Metal, coming to Peacock on July 31. Take a look below:
Turning video games into movies and TV shows is all the rage lately, but Sony's Twisted Metal games, wherein players roll around in souped-up death mobiles trying to knock each other off the road, always seemed like an odd choice. But the trailer looks pretty fun!

Buckle up: "Twisted Metal" season 2 is revving its engines for a summer return. The first season of "Twisted Metal" was a total blast, but now, the high-octane mayhem is hitting the gas, blowing stuff up, and, based on the latest trailer, delivering the right dose of chaos that fans have been craving. The Peacock original streaming series, inspired by the vehicular combat video game of the same name, blends road rage, explosions, and dark humor into a uniquely untethered ride, but avoids the same narrative trappings that plague other video game-to-series adaptations. If you were a teen (or tween with cool parents) in the late 1990s or early 2000s, odds are you either played "Twisted Metal" religiously or knew someone who exclusively wore D-Generation X "Suck It" T-shirts who wouldn't shut up about Sweet Tooth and his wasteland ice cream truck. And yet, against all odds, the series has become...

Season 2 of Twisted Metal has recently completed filming, and star Anthony Mackie has been teasing that the action-packed return of the Peacock series is going to see "a lot of sh-t” get blown up in the name of entertainment. For fans of the video game adaptation, this is exactly the kind of thing they have been waiting to hear.
Twisted Metal debuted on Peacock in 2023 with an incredibly impressive viewership, quickly becoming the most binged original series in the streamer’s history at the time. This was not the only success the series had, as alongside a so-so 67% Tomatometer score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the show landed a huge 93% from audiences, putting it among some of the best video game adaptations ever.
With those stats backing it up, a renewal was quick in coming, and after several production updates, Mackie has now further hyped the upcoming return of the Playstation franchise adaptation.

One aspect of The Walking Dead's ending seems redundant after Rick Grimes' return in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. AMC's main The Walking Dead TV show concluded in 2022 on a positive note, with a one-year time jump revealing a happy Commonwealth community ruled fairly and democratically by Ezekiel and Mercer. The Walking Dead then received a second ending in 2024 thanks to Rick and Michonne's spinoff, The Ones Who Live.
Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira's characters returned home to reunite with their children and Rick met his son Rj for the very first time, putting an emotional addendum on the series finale from two years prior. Nevertheless, The Ones Who Live's ending sat largely separate from The Walking Dead's. The spinoff never showed the Commonwealth (or even confirmed which community Rick and Michonne returned to), and no other characters arrived to greet them. Despite...

Mackie now takes to Instagram to share new behind-the-scenes images from Twisted Metal season 2, showing off Doe in the upcoming batch of episodes. The carousel of five images features several of Mackie between takes wearing a thick winter coat embroidered with a distinctive spider logo, which is a nod to the game franchise. He appears in a rusty vehicle with a cigar in one image, while another shows him in character as Doe, looking over his shoulder.

Kevin Hart’s Chicken Man is on the ground, breathing hard in fear, as Samuel L. Jackson’s badass gangster Frank Moten, known as the Black Godfather, holds a gun.
Subtly channeling Jackson’s legendary Pulp Fiction persona Jules Winnfield, Frank thunders, “You do believe in God, right?” Hart’s Chicken Man reply “with all my soul” produces a soft, but stern “then testify” from Frank. Kevin Hart leads a starry cast of characters in Peacock's new crime drama miniseries, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. As its title suggests, the series is based on an exceptionally ambitious heist, previously documented in iHeart Radio's similarly titled true-crime podcast helmed and hosted by Jeff Keating. Both recount the true-to-life events of a shocking armed robbery that occurred the night of Muhammad Ali's first professional boxing match after being banned from the sport for years as a result of refusing to be drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
The stakes were high not only for the renowned boxer's comeback but for a crowd who gathered to celebrate Ali's historic fight at an ill-fated afterparty targeted by thieves. When the TV series based on the popular video game franchise Twisted Metal made its premiere on the Peacock streaming service back in July, it quickly became one of Peacock’s top five original series, racking up 400 million viewing minutes in its first weekend and earning the honor of being the streamer’s “most-binged” premiere. Now season 2 is speeding ahead and is currently in production. A couple of months ago, it was announced that Richard de Klerk (A Teenage Prophet), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), and Tiana Okoye (Mrs. Davis) had joined the cast in unspecified recurring guest roles. Suspected of masterminding the crime, Chicken Man is hellbent on clearing his name but must convince his old adversary, J.D. Hudson (Don Cheadle), one of the first Black detectives in the city’s desegregated police force, who is tasked with bringing those responsible to justice.

The Walking Dead franchise has the potential for a major crossover even after 11 seasons, and it won't jeopardize the plots of existing spinoffs. Margot Bingham and Paola Lázaro suggested spinoff ideas involving their characters, Max Mercer and Princess, as well as Michael Mercer and Negan. These secondary characters could have their stories further developed in a spinoff, allowing for more screen time and exploration of their roles.
With such an expansive franchise like The Walking Dead, some cast spinoff ideas suggest how a major crossover could still happen even after 11 seasons. Since its TV debut in 2010, The Walking Dead has branched into seven different spinoffs, with no signs of stopping. Naturally, this escalates at the end of the main show with major characters like Daryl, Negan, Maggie, Rick, and Michonne heading into their more granular apocalyptic stories. The Walking Dead, the long-running post-apocalyptic horror series based on the comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, has finally come to an end after 11 seasons and 177 episodes. The show, which premiered on AMC in 2010, followed a group of survivors led by former sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as they faced the threats of zombies, hostile humans, and their own inner demons in a world overrun by the undead.
The final season of The Walking Dead, which was split into three parts, adapted material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series and introduced two new factions: the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that had advanced equipment and over fifty thousand survivors living in their settlements; and the Reapers, a mysterious group of hostile survivors that attacked and took Meridian, the former home of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her new people, the Wardens.

The Walking Dead is known for its memorable characters, many of whom weathered the storm of the zombie apocalypse to become true survivors in a dangerous world. However, not every character in the post-apocalyptic drama has had the same level of success. Some even fail to survive the bounds of a single season.
Whether they were killed off too soon or merely introduced in the eleventh and final season, there have been plenty of The Walking Dead characters who didn't last past their debut season. Nevertheless, some of these characters proved to be quite memorable in their limited screentime.

There will be no third season of Blood & Treasure.
The treasure-hunting drama has been canceled after two seasons, according to TV Line.
No reason has been given for the cancellation, but the writing was on the wall when the show was renewed in 2019 while the first season was airing, and then the show disappeared.
It started its life on CBS, but it was announced in 2022 that the series would return with its long-delayed second season that year.
Given the length of time between seasons, many assumed the show was dead.
Fueling the rumors that the show was dead even more was that the cast moved on to other projects.
Co-creator Matthew Federman wrote the following on Twitter on the day of the Season 2 finale airing.
"I don't know what the future holds but I'm very proud of what we got to do with this show, shooting our little action...
