Just last night, The American Theatre Wingcelebrated 101 Years of supporting strong and fearless voices in the American Theatre witha tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber's unrivaled body of work amassed over five decades. Performers included Tony Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon, Tony winner and Grammy Award nominee Heather Headley, Tony winner Katrina Lenk, Tony and Grammy nominee Norm Lewis, Webber muse Sierra Boggess, two-time Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative recipient Sydney Lopes, and a mega-band that includes School of Rock alumni Evie Dolan, Ethan Khusidman, Raghav Mehrotra, and Brandon Niederauer.

Andrew Lloyd Webber loved School of Rock so much that he bought the rights and turned it into a Broadway musical. That adaptation premieres December 6, but right now we've got the exclusive premiere of one of Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater's numbers from it. (The score is a mix of originals and songs from the film.) It's called "If Only You Would Listen," and true to Lloyd Webber's intention to focus the show on the children who attend the titular rock school, it features young cast members Taylor Caldwell, Evie Dolan, Carly Gendell, Ethan Khusidman, Bobbi Mackenzie, Dante Melucci, Brandon Niederauer, Luca Padovan, Jared Parker, Isabella Russo, Jersey Sullivan, and Corinne Wilson addressing their parents — who, true to form, just don't understand, man. The School of Rock: The Musical cast recording was produced by alt-rock veteran Rob Cavallo and drops December 4 via Warner Bros. Records.
