Tron: Ares (2025)
Disney wanted to include an AI character in Tron: Ares and even explored a deepfaked Dwayne Johnson for Moana
Tron: Ares (2025)
AI is here to stay, but how it should and shouldn’t be used is still a subject of much debate, particularly in the entertainment industry. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal (via Deadline), Disney had considered some ambitious ideas for using AI on several upcoming projects, including Tron: Ares and the live-action Moana movie.

According to WSJ sources, Disney executives “pitched the idea of actually incorporating AI into one of the characters in the sequel to the 1980s hit movie Tron as a buzzy marketing strategy.” The character would have been a sidekick of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), but the idea didn’t move forward because the executives were told “that the company couldn’t risk the bad publicity.“

Tron: Ares stars Jared Leto as Ares, a highly sophisticated Program sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with AI beings.

Jeff Bridges Jokes About Tron: Ares Star Jared Leto's Method Acting During Filming
Image
Jared Leto appears to still be embracing his well-known method acting style, a practice that drew plenty of attention during his time on Suicide Squad. But this time around, and luckily for the Tron: Ares cast, Leto wasn't playing someone as menacing and disgusting as the Joker.

During the film’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, Leto’s co-star Jeff Bridges shared a humorous story about their time working together. In his usual laid-back drawl, Bridges remarked, “He’s one of those guys. Everyone has different methods and modes, man.”

The crowd laughed as Bridges continued with a light jab: “I didn’t want to offend him as a thespian, but I thought, ‘I wanted to have a certain intimacy with you. I know your name is Ares. Can I just call you Air?’ He said, ‘Yeah man! You can call me whatever you want!’ We had a great time.

Tron: Ares' Welcomes Fans to the Grid With Gorgeous Sdcc Footage
Image
At the Tron: Ares panel at San Diego Comic Con, Disney unveiled clips of two different high-speed lightcycle chases. Fans have already had a glimpse of one of them in the film's promotional material, while another is all new for the convention. Collider's Meredith Loftus was on the scene in San Diego.

At the panel, the filmmakers showed off two of the franchise's iconic light cycle chases. In the first clip, the programs Ares (Jared Leto) and Athena (Jodie Turner-Smith) are sent after Eve (Greta Lee) by Julian Dillinger (Evan Peters). Eve takes off on her own motorcycle, but soon she's fighting for her life against the ruthless Athena. However, she manages to knock the program down and take off on Athena's stolen lightcycle. In the second, Ares and Eve are in the Grid, attempting to escape back to reality as Athena and her drones pursue them. He's defying orders to help her,...

After 15 Years, A Fan Favorite Character is Back in Latest 'Tron: Ares' Trailer
Image
The Grid is back online — and this time, it’s coming for our world. Disney has just unveiled a jaw-dropping look at Tron: Ares, the highly anticipated sequel to Tron: Legacy, and it’s everything fans have been hoping for and more: red neon, slick vehicles, gravity-defying action, and a pulsating soundtrack that promises to rewire your brain. Directed by Joachim Rønning, the film marks a major evolution for the Tron franchise — one that brings Oscar-winner Jared Leto into the digital fold as the titular Ares, a rogue program with unclear (and likely sinister) motives. Also returning? The original Grid master himself, Jeff Bridges, reprising his iconic role as Kevin Flynn.

What Is 'Tron: Ares' About?

The biggest twist this time? The Grid isn’t confined to cyberspace anymore. Tron: Ares takes place after the events of Tron: Legacy, and will mark the first time that programs have made their way into the real world.

Disney's Tron: Ares Will Be At Hall H During This Year's San Diego Comic-Con

Disney is officially bringing Tron: Ares to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, making this a rare non-Marvel appearance by Walt Disney Studios at the fan-favorite venue of Hall H. It was also 15 years ago that Tron Legacy took the stage at Hall H. The futuristic sci-fi sequel has already made its presence known around the Gaslamp District with promotional banners, but this announcement cements its flagship Sdcc status. Check out the banners on the light posts down below:

Who Will Be At The Event?

While Leto headlines the movie, it remains uncertain whether he will be attending this years San Diego Comic-Con due to ongoing controversy. A recent exposé from Air Mail detailed allegations from nine women accusing the actor of inappropriate behavior, claims which unnamed representatives have strongly denied. Tron: Ares Teases Jeff Bridges' Return As A First Look at Jodie Turner-Smith's Villain Is Unleashed
Image
Will a third Tron film finally deliver the box office success Disney has long hoped for?

So far, both the original Tron from 1982 and its 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy underperformed in theaters. While neither film turned a profit during their initial runs, both gained loyal fanbases through home video and later found renewed life on streaming platforms.

In the case of Legacy, its strong post-theatrical performance even inspired the creation of a high-profile E-ticket attraction at Magic Kingdom in Orlando.

Despite this long-tail success, it's safe to say Disney would much prefer a strong theatrical debut and immediate commercial returns rather than waiting years for a cult following to emerge.

What works in Tron: Ares' favor is its shift in focus. With a storyline centered on computer algorithms crossing into the real world, the film may rely less heavily on the fully computer-generated environment of the Grid.

Additionally, with over...

Tron: Ares director Joachim Rønning says specific scenes look as if they were shot by a robot to bring The Grid to the next level
Image
When people think of advancements in special effects in Hollywood, they typically think of movies like 1933’s King Kong, Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, and James Cameron’s Avatar franchise, to name a few. However, old heads of Hollywood remember another film that helped change the visual game, Disney’s Tron. The Steven Lisberger-directed science-fiction adventure dazzled audiences with state-of-the-art digital effects, paving the way for VFX in film to show moviegoers things they’d never thought possible on the silver screen. Disney upped their game again in 2010 with Tron: Legacy, and soon, Joachim Rønning will level up the Tron Universe with Tron: Ares, coming to theaters on October 10, 2025.

The latest issue of Empire Magazine is pulling the curtain back on Tron: Ares with an in-depth discussion about filming techniques with the film’s director, Joachim Rønning. According to Rønning, Ilm (Industrial Light & Magic) treats Ares as “the Holy Grail of computer graphics.

Some Scenes in ‘Tron: Ares’ Are Meant to Look ‘Shot by a Robot,’ Says Director Joachim Rønning
Image
“Tron: Ares” is taking its artificial intelligence plotline quite literally. In a new interview, director Joachim Rønning shared that he wanted certain scenes in the upcoming film to look as if they were shot by a computer program, rather than a person.

“Tron: Ares” is the third installment in the sci-fi franchise that began in 1982 with Jeff Bridges playing a video game programmer who becomes trapped in the digital world. The sequel “Tron: Legacy” was released in 2010 with Garret Hedlund playing Bridges’ onscreen son; Joseph Kosinski directed. Now, Rønning is taking the reins, with Bridges returning for the third film.

Rønning told Empire that he views the process of making “Tron: Ares” as the “the Holy Grail of computer graphics,” especially with the famed Grid becoming even more paramount to the plot. Jared Leto joins the franchise as the titular Ares, the manifestation of a sentient computer program that escapes into the real world.

Will Sam Flynn Return To The Grid For Tron: Ares? Garrett Hedlund Gives Cryptic Answer
Image
Starring Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn and Olivia Wilde as Quorra, this 2010 sci-fi spectacle Tron: Legacy has rightfully earned its place as an underrated gem and a growing cult classic on home video. Its breathtaking visuals and iconic soundtrack even inspired a thrilling new ride at Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Now, the Tron universe is expanding with the highly anticipated Tron: Ares. This new film shifts its focus from Legacy's main characters, but it builds directly on an exciting idea from the previous movie's climax: Quorra, an "isomorphic algorithm," stepping out of the digital Grid and into the real world.

Tron: Ares will explore this groundbreaking concept on a much grander scale, with Jared Leto leading the cast as the titular Ares. The core plot revolves around an unprecedented event: more and more advanced algorithms are making the leap from the Grid and entering physical reality. This raises a...

“It’s Astounding How Much Time Has Gone On”: Garrett Hedlund Has Addressed If His ‘Legacy’ Character Will Return in ‘Tron: Ares’
Image
After about a decade and a half, Disney is sending audiences back to the Grid with the upcoming Tron movie, Tron: Ares. The movie will serve as a standalone sequel to 2010's Tron: Legacy, which fulfilled long-held hopes for the continuation of the beloved science-fiction saga that began with Tron in 1982. The 2010 sequel introduced a new character in Sam, played by Garrett Hedlund, the son of the genius programmer Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), who enters the program to help his father stop a malevolent program from invading the real world. With plot details for the upcoming sequel safely under wraps, fans have wondered whether Sam will be back, especially given that it will also feature his father, Kevin. Hedlund has now cleared things up in his recent interview with Screen Rant.

Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Maya Hawke, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ayo Edebiri in Inside Out 2 (2024)
FandomWire Predicts 10 Movies Which Will Rule the Box Office in 2025
Lewis Black, Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Maya Hawke, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ayo Edebiri in Inside Out 2 (2024)
2024 was a soft hum for the industry, but this year is already off to an operatic start. How could Hollywood resist pushing a bunch of sequels down our throats? If last year was an appetizer, with Inside Out 2 and the Deadpool/Wolverine tag team, 2025 is arriving with far more plump (just look at what the Minecraft film was able to do) and impossible missions.

Superheroes are obviously back, as they have continued to do so for the last decade. James Gunn’s Superman will be figuring out life again, and with Marvel’s Phase V coming to an end with Thunderbolts*, the new Fantastic Four reboot will hope to erase the sour taste of its previous attempts.

Maybe this time they’ll get it right? Our fingers remain crossed. James Cameron, meanwhile, isn’t done with blue aliens either, and Avatar 3 will likely demand another three hours of your...

Originally published April 11 at 11:20 a.m. Pt; updated April 25 at 11:30 a.m. Pt

The cast of Yellowjackets was buzzing as they hit the red carpet to celebrate the Showtime drama's Season 3 finale. An FYC screening of the episode "Full Circle" was held at the TV Academy on April 10, where enthusiastic audience members were explicitly told "No recording!" to avoid spoilers leaking to future home viewers. Now that enough time has passed, the full cast Q&a with moderator Emily Longeretta (Variety) has been made available (watch below).

The Season 3 finale reached three million viewers after seven days, up 19 percent from Season 2, according Nielsen. The show also saw a 54 percent increase in viewership when isolating for streaming alone on Paramount +. According to Paramount, the episode was the most-streamed in the series' history — and Season 3 of Yellowjackets was its most-watched overall. ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 3 Finale Scores 3 Million Global Viewers, Up 19% From Season 2
Image
The latest season of “Yellowjackets” was the series’ most watched ever. The Showtime original, which was available to watch on Paramount+ With Showtime, now ranks as the second most-streamed global Showtime original ever behind “Dexter: Original Sin.”

Overall, viewership for this latest season was up 3% compared to previous seasons. It should be noted that this year is the first time “Yellowjackets” has released a new season on Paramount+ With Showtime, which was created in 2024. Previously, the drama was only available to stream on Showtime’s now-defunct platform.

Season 3’s finale of the survival thriller secured 3 million global cross-platform viewers during its first seven days of availability. That number marks a 19% increase compared to the overall viewership for Season 2’s finale as well as a 54% increase in the streaming audience for that episode. The finale for Season 3 currently ranks as the most-watched episode of “Yellowjackets” ever.

The series also saw gains on social media.

‘Yellowjackets’ Star Sophie Thatcher on Thrilling Final Scene: “She Is Kind of the Hero of the Story”
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

Yellowjackets needed to deliver a win, and that’s exactly what the Showtime survival saga did when it capped its third season with Sophie Thatcher screaming from the top of a mountain to the head-banging tune of Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge.”

After a deadly season that was certainly the darkest one yet from showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson and Jonathan Lisco, and a revelatory finale that answered not only who killed Lottie (it was Shauna’s daughter Callie, played by Sarah Desjardins) but also unmasked the long-debated identity of Pit Girl as Mari (Alexa Barajas), Yellowjackets then followed teenage Natalie, played by Thatcher, to a mountaintop after she and Misty (explaining the smile Samantha Hanratty flashed in the pilot) secretly fixed the Sat phone from the scientists and Nat made a connection with the outside world.

The fist-pumping moment puts the teenagers who have been...

‘Yellowjackets’ Star Courtney Eaton Still Has Her Questions About Lottie
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

Many things came full circle in the Yellowjackets season three finale, including a premonition that Lottie had about her death.

If you ask Courtney Eaton, who plays Lottie in the Showtime survival series’ 1996-1997 teenager timeline, the duality of playing a possibly clairvoyant character who has the ability to see the future while she, as an actor, doesn’t know what the showrunners have planned down the line isn’t lost on her.

“That’s the challenge with playing Lottie. She is usually the one to see and foreshadow things, but I don’t know anything as the actor, which makes playing her really fun because I get to make choices that could be interpreted a few different ways,” Eaton tells The Hollywood Reporter of the mystery drama.

An earlier episode of Yellowjackets revealed Lottie’s death in present day as a mystery, setting up a whodunit...

Tawny Cypress and Christina Ricci Plot What’s Next on ‘Yellowjackets’
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

Yellowjackets has found a new deadly duo.

After the killing spree of season three, the Showtime series ended with a revelatory finale, titled “Full Circle,” that answered both the biggest question of the series (who is Pit Girl?) and the biggest question of the season (who killed Lottie?). Both answers also indicated that Shauna (played by Melanie Lynskey in the present and Sophie Nélisse in the past) perhaps deserves what her surviving friends are now plotting against her in present day.

The wilderness timeline revealed that the girl who savagely died in the pilot of the series is Mari (Alexa Barajas), in a hunt that was sparked by “Antler Queen” Shauna (Nélisse). And the present-day timeline in the survival saga unmasked Shauna’s teenage daughter, Callie (Sarah Desjardins), as the murderer of Yellowjackets survivor Lottie (Simone Kessell). In between those revelations, fellow survivor Van (Lauren Ambrose) died...

‘Yellowjackets’ Star Sarah Desjardins Explains Season 3 Finale Shocker
Image
[This story contains major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

After setting up a whodunit earlier in the season, the Yellowjackets finale revealed who killed Lottie Matthews. The answer was a surprising one, but not to the actor who made the fateful push.

Callie Sadecki, the teenage daughter to Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), was the one who shoved the show’s most spiritual successor of the wilderness down a flight of stairs to her death. That powerful push came after an interaction that raised more questions, even though it also provided answers, in the revelatory season three ending, “Full Circle.”

Sarah Desjardins, who plays Callie in the Showtime series’ present-day timeline, tells The Hollywood Reporter that she was sensing a Callie-Lottie face off ever since the tragic season two finale, when Callie was nearly caught in the crossfire of the adult survivors’ “hunt” that took the life of one of their own, Natalie (Juliette Lewis). “How Callie was...

Where You've Seen The Cast Of The Night Agent Before
Image
Not all television series are built with an eye toward earning critical acclaim and winning Primetime Emmys. Some shows are unabashedly formulaic, shuffling around tried-and-true plot turns the producers and writers know will satisfy their loyal viewers. Sure, prestige series like "Mad Men," "Deadwood," and "Succession" get all the plaudits, but hour-long franchises like "CSI," "NCIS," and the "One Chicago" universe bring in a ratings bonanza. And while networks and streamers dig awards, what they prize above all are ratings.

At best, these series combine savvy casting choices with punchy writing to concoct breezily effective procedurals that power you past their myriad implausibilities. They're akin to what we used to call "airplane reads" – i.e. briskly plotted novels that you pick up at an airport newsstand and tear through while enduring a long flight (perhaps people still do this). So it's not a surprise that TV creators have turned to...

Shauna is completely off the rails in Yellowjackets season 3 episode 10 (Finale review and ending explained)
Image
Um, wow. If you're still left reeling from last week's episode of Yellowjackets season 3 - episode 9, "How the Story Ends" - then so am I. That episode definitely felt like a season finale, but actually we had one more to go. This week's! And it certainly delivered as well. Here's our review and ending explained of season 3 episode 10, "Full Circle," on Paramount+ and Showtime. Spoilers Below.

L-r: Melanie Lynskey as Shauna and Tawny Cypress as Taissa in Yellowjackets, episode 7, season 3, streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime, 2025. Photo Credit: Kailey Schwerman/Paramount+ with Showtime. Revenge of the Tai

The number of yellowjackets certainly keeps dwindling in the present, that's for sure. In the aftermath of Van's heartbreaking death, Tai is mad at Shauna and blames her for her death. Uh, yeah. Me too! I'm not sure why Tai buries her in a random spot in the woods. That didn't make sense to me.

‘Yellowjackets’ Creators Talk Shauna’s “Clear Realization” In Season 3 Finale & Potential Rescue: “Not Out Of The Woods Yet”
Image
Spoiler Alert: This post contains details about the Yellowjackets, Season 3 finale episode “Full Circle“

After an eventful Season 3 finale, Yellowjackets fans no doubt have plenty of questions. Did Natalie reach help? Where did Jeff and Callie go? Does Shauna have a soul?

Leading up to this week’s episode “Full Circle,” co-creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson spoke with Deadline about the “spiritual symmetry” of the finale, which reveals the identities of “Pit Girl” and “Antler Queen” after they were teased in the 2021 Karyn Kusama-helmed pilot.

“In terms of bringing it full circle, there is always something exciting and maybe sort of daunting, because the entirety of — a large portion at least, in terms of narrative weight of the finale, is sort of starting where we began,” said Nickerson, who directed the episode. “The show’s obviously not over, but to sort of like land back at the beginning...

‘Yellowjackets’ Bosses Explain Everything — From “Pit Girl” to All Those Deaths and What Comes Next
Image
[This story contains Major spoilers from the season three finale of Yellowjackets, “Full Circle.”]

The Yellowjackets co-creators had promised answers by the end of the season. They delivered on that with a revelatory season three finale, “Full Circle.”

The Showtime series catapulted itself into the zeitgeist when it launched in 2021 with a captivating pilot about a team of high school soccer players whose plane crashes in the middle of nowhere. The pilot weaved together two timelines with that 1996 crash and the present-day survivors, played by a beloved cast, and there was a killer flash-forward opening of an unidentified girl running for her life, barefoot through snow, who is then impaled and eaten by her friends. This girl became known as “Pit Girl” — her identity speculated about and debated on fan threads for years. Who is this poor girl and how did those teenagers arrive at a place where they hunted their friends for ritual cannibalistic feasts?

“Full Circle,” which was written...

‘This is so sick!’: ‘Yellowjackets’ star Sophie Nélisse breaks down Shauna’s dark side and that twisted Season 3 finale
Image
The following interview contains spoilers from the Season 3 finale episode of Yellowjackets, titled "Full Circle."

The Season 3 finale of Yellowjackets debuted on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday and left fans with another cliffhanger — Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) calling for help from a mountaintop as Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) takes her throne as the Antler Queen. In "Full Circle," the teenage Yellowjackets decide it's time for another hunt, and Mari (Alexa Barajas) is the unlucky recipient of the queen of hearts. While attempting to flee, Mari dies by falling into the pit trap and is subsequently strung up for another feast. Meanwhile, Hannah (Ashley Sutton) tricks Shauna by dressing in Natalie's winter gear as Natalie sneaks off with the refurbished radio transponder.

In the adult timeline, Callie (Sarah Desjardins) is revealed as Lottie's (Simone Kessell) killer. After Callie and Jeff (Warren Kole) decide to spend time away from Shauna (Melanie Lynskey), the...

‘Yellowjackets’ Star Melanie Lynskey on Finale Shockers, Shauna ‘Reclaiming Her Power’ and Season 3 Deaths: ‘I Wish We Had More Time’
Image
Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “Yellowjackets,” titled “Full Circle,” streaming now on Paramount+ with Showtime.

After more than 25 years of stewing, Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) snaps — again — in the “Yellowjackets” Season 3 finale.

Following a chaotic reunion with her presumed-dead ex, Melissa (Hilary Swank), that ends with Van (Lauren Ambrose) being fatally stabbed, Shauna parts ways with Taissa (Tawny Cypress) and heads home.

But when Shauna arrives at Chez Sadecki, the house is eerily quiet. Sure enough, she discovers that her husband Jeff (Warren Kole) and daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) have packed their things and bolted. Shauna immediately confronts Misty (Christina Ricci), suspecting she may have helped them change their phone numbers, but the bespectacled Yellowjacket denies the accusation.

That’s when the ugly truth sets in: this isn’t Misty’s latest chaotic scheme — Callie and Jeff left all on their own. Though Misty (and...

Yellowjackets' Season 3 Finale Has Unmasked The Antler Queen – And Pit Girl
Image
Major spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 3 ahead.

Now that it's over, it's fair to say that "Yellowjackets" season 3 rose above the early criticisms. The first half of the season dragged its heels and got dragged in turn by some critics. More than a few fans suspected the writers had lost the plot. But then episode 6 "Thanksgiving (Canada)" got the ball rolling with a new conflict: hikers stumbled on the girls, giving them the chance of rescue. That fractured the team further between those who wanted to go home and those who felt at home in the Wilderness.

The slam-dunk season finale, "Full Circle," even rectified some of the problems with Lottie's (Simone Kessell) death earlier this season, giving her a proper final scene and conclusion with Callie (Sarah Desjardins). And "Full Circle" gave us more answers than just those regarding Lottie's death.

"Yellowjackets" has finally started opening the mystery boxes it set.

She will be joined in the lead category by Sophie Nélisse, who plays cannibalistic teen Shauna in the wilderness, and Tawny Cypress, who takes on split personalities as adult Taissa Turner.

'Tron 3' Director Compares Jared Leto's Antagonist to Disney's Pinocchio
Image
Tron: Ares director Joachim Rønning has drawn an interesting comparison between Jared Leto's antagonist in Tron 3 and a beloved Disney icon. Many would perhaps presume that Ares — the rogue A.I. at the center of the story — would be similar to the classic villains featured in Disney's Hall of Infame, such as Jafar, Scar, or even Captain Hook, but that is not the case. Rønning told Empire that the Ares computer program has slightly more complex coding than a traditional baddie, making him more like Pinocchio than anyone else.

"Not to be too clichéd, but I always thought about him a bit like Pinocchio. Ares wants to be a real boy. We talked a lot about him almost being an infant, discovering the world for the first time, and how we wanted the audience to see the world through his eyes. The little things that we take for granted,...

Tron: Ares director teases Jared Leto’s character: “I always thought about him a bit like Pinocchio”
Image

The sequel follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings. Jared Leto plays Ares, and director Joachim Rønning spilled a few details about the character while speaking with Empire.

“Not to be too clichéd, but I always thought about him a bit like Pinocchio,” Rønning said. “Ares wants to be a real boy. We talked a lot about him almost being an infant, discovering the world for the first time, and how we wanted the audience to see the world through his eyes. The little things that we take for granted, or don’t see anymore. That was important.

‘Tron: Ares’: See New Trailer for Nine Inch Nails-Scored Sci-Fi Epic

Fifteen years after the last Tron film, it’s time to take the light cycles for a spin again as Disney has shared the new trailer for Tron: Ares, the third installment in the sci-fi series.

The preview doesn’t offer up much in terms of storyline — has the digital world of Tron invaded reality, with light cycles splitting actual police cars in half, or have graphics in the simulation improved mightily over the past decades? —but it does provide a first look at Jared Leto’s protagonist Ares, as...

First ‘Tron: Ares’ Trailer Brings Us Back To The Grid For The First Time in 15 Years
Image
Following the taste we had at CinemaCon, Disney has just dropped a jaw-dropping first look at their upcoming sequel, Tron Ares, which brings back Jeff Bridges to the franchise as well as introducing the Academy Award-winner Jared Leto to the world. Red neon, fast vehicles, physics-defying action and a banging soundtrack are our immediate thoughts upon watching what director Joachim Rønninghas in store for us, and we can't wait for October 10, 2025 to arrive so we can jump into the grid and find out for ourselves what Ares has up his sleeve.

Following what went down in Tron: Legacy, Tron: Ares will be the first time that the Grid's programs have out of the digital world and into our own. Leto leads as Ares, a program whose mission looks to be somewhat malevolent and will undoubtedly shake the foundations of both worlds. The film will also star Greta Lee, and Evan Peters...
