Morena Baccarin caused quite a stir at the recent Fan Expo Canada after saying she wanted to be a villain in James Gunn's DC Universe. On Instagram, the digital artist bfhdesign shared an image of Gillan transformed into Poison Ivy, complete with the greenish eyes and tint to her skin. The artist noted how the image was made partly in response to Gillan publicly expressing her interest in playing the plant-loving supervillain. Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to Jay Arnold’s award-winning LGBTQ+ romantic drama feature “Shoulder Dance” and will launch sales at the Cannes film market.

The film stars Matt Dallas (“Kyle Xy”), Rick Cosnett (“The Flash”), Taylor Frey (“It Chapter Two”), Samuel Larsen (“Glee”) and Maggie Geha (“Gotham”). Arnold (“What Happens Next”) directed from his original screenplay.

The deal was negotiated between Breaking Glass Pictures CEO Rich Wolff, Amanda Rae Simon, Esq., COO Susan Helfrich, Arnold, and Ethan Bearman, Esq., The Bearman Firm.

“Shoulder Dance” follows gay and straight best friends Ira (Dallas) and Roger (Cosnett) who haven’t seen each other in 24 years. When Roger arrives unexpectedly for the weekend, with his girlfriend Lilly (Geha), long suppressed desires dangerously resurface and the strength of Ira’s long-term relationship with Josh (Frey) is tested.

The film is produced by Arnold, Rod Hamilton and Frank Lomento. The consulting producer is Mark Bobadilla.

Poison Ivy hasn't appeared in the DC Extended Universe just yet, but it hasn't been for a lack of trying on Margot Robbie's part. Of course, DC fans will know Robbie best for playing Harley Quinn in Dceu movies like Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey. Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) premiered this weekend to critical praise, being called “a fun, madcap, and insane ride” with “highly stylized” visuals and several excellent performances on its way to earning a 92% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

You don’t need Bruce Wayne’s detective skills to notice that this version of Ivy is missing something that’s usually intrinsic to the character: her auburn locks. List is a popular actress with DC TV fans, after previously appearing as Golden Glider on The Flash and Lucy Lane on Smallville, but we imagine some will have fierce opinions about a version of Poison Ivy who doesn’t have red hair.

Right now, it looks like Poison Ivy is quickly becoming Gotham‘s equivalent of James Bond insofar that she’s being continuously recast. As you should remember, Clare Foley played a much younger version of the character – Ivy Pepper – beginning with the pilot episode, before being aged up via sci-fi means at the start of season 3. And with that passing of the torch came Maggie Geha, who’s done a fine job in the time since.

Geha, who was billed as a series regular for the duration of season 3, actually ended up being criminally underused and has since been demoted to “guest star” in season 4. Now, the latest word to come down says that she’s unfortunately out, and that Peyton List is in.

Gotham is itching to give Poison Ivy another extreme makeover.

TVLine has learned that Fox’s DC drama has tapped Peyton List (Frequency, The Flash) to take over the role of Ivy Pepper/aka Poison Ivy.

List is the third actress to play the role, following Maggie Geha (who took over a year ago) and Clare Foley (who originated it in the pilot). Update: Geha in fact offered this farewell of sorts hours after List’s casting was reported:

If there’s one advantage that Gotham has over its DC TV brethren at The CW, it’s that it’ll commence its next season several weeks before the others do. Having said that, it’s only expected that synopses surface, each providing even more clues as to what we can expect from the next leg of Bruce Wayne’s journey toward becoming Batman.

First, on Thursday, September 21, we have the season 4 premiere that’s peculiarly titled “Pax Penguina.” From that, we can obviously infer that the deadly rivalry involving the Penguin and the Riddler that began in season 3 will spill over here, but it appears that the Scarecrow and Ra’s al Ghul may steal the show. And seeing as how Alexander Siddig, who is reprising his role as the Demon’s Head, is now a series regular, that’s a very real possibility.

Gotham is a show that has a lot to live up to. We all know Batman, but to take the focus and push it onto James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) instead, and make Bruce Wayne a lesser character is a brave move. Looking at Gotham: The Complete Third Season, we now have a show that is finding its confidence, but also risking overwhelming the audience in the very busy city of Gotham.

Working as a bounty hunter, Gordon is now tracking down the Indian Hills escapees. With Jervis Tetch (Benedict Samuel), The Mat Hatter threatening the city with a madness virus, and a shady organisation known as the Court of Owls strengthening their hold over the city, the battle for control of Gotham has never been so volatile.

You know, I really feel like I’m playing devil’s advocate whenever I say something supportive about Gotham. Really, angry fanboys have made it the Roman Reigns of the DC TV family. But despite it taking the basics of the Batman mythos and using them to build something that’s all its own, I’ve really come to enjoy this series as I believe it makes for some rather stellar television. Granted, I can’t speak for where the producers may be headed in the future, but in the meantime, I’m having a ball watching.

Despite their wealth and social status. Thomas and Martha Wayne were victims of random violence in a city filled with such acts on an hourly basis. The robbery and dual murders could have happened to anyone which makes Bruce Wayne a sympathetic character – he could be us. His training to become Batman resonates because any of us could dedicate ourselves both mentally and physical to perfection in order to prevent others from becoming victims.

Unless you’re watching the mess that is Gotham. There, the everyman aspect has been stripped away from the event so here, in this twisted version of the comics, we learn their murders was ordered by the Court of Owls which is somehow tied in to the utterly corrupt Board of Directions of Wayne Enterprises.

A Comic-Con poster has just been released for Gotham Season 4 and it reveals that we’ve learned the title of the initial Season 4 storyline is "Dawn of Night." The poster also features an image of Bruce Wayne looking over Gotham City.

There's not a lot of information on the upcoming season, but we know that Bruce is going to be taking some big steps as he slowly but surely becomes the Dark Knight, which corresponds with the title. We also know that Harley Quinn is going to play a decent sized role in the story.

We'll learn more about the series during the Comic-Con panel that takes place on Saturday evening. They will be doing a Q&A with the cast and crew and will show off a video presentation.

If anything can be said about Gotham, it’s that several truly brilliant young actors have turned in some memorable performances as they re-imagine some of the greatest villains to ever leap off the pages of comic books. With just weeks remaining until the fall finale, Gotham looks to heat things up next week with what may be its most intense episode to air thus far this season. If the above trailer for “Mad City: The Executioner” tells us anything, it’s that we’re in for one hell of a nail biter.

From the looks of it, most of the white knuckle moments in this particular episode will come courtesy of the developing situation with Nathaniel Barnes. Jim’s moral compass goes a bit wobbly in this rather fun second episode of Gotham season 3...

3.2 Burn The Witch

Holy moral compass malfunction, Batman! In my last review I was hoping that Gotham would start shaking up the stories revolving around Jim Gordon, to make the whole ‘he’s really changed’ thing seem more convincing. Looking at this week’s episode, I needn’t have worried.

Leather jackets and bottles of beer are the easy shorthand for ‘our protagonist is becoming a bit of a dick.’ And this week, that basic idea from the season premiere was fleshed out with some actual plot. It was genuinely shocking to see Jim let Fish Mooney go free at the end of the episode, to manipulate the Gcpd, to encourage Penguin’s mob, and to do nothing when Penguin was later seen celebrating after a fair number of people died.
