His journey began with the acclaimed romantic film 'Rosa Wasanthe' in 2001, where he not only starred but also designed the costumes, showcasing his diverse talents. Breaking barriers, Jayaratne made his international debut in 2023 with 'Arugam Bay, a production by Israeli director Marco Carmel, swiftly followed by 'Sunny's Mansion' under the helm of Australian filmmaker Herman Perera.
