Wamg Talks Sinister 2 With Ciarán Foy, Shannyn Sossamon, James Ransone and C. Robert Cargill [Video]
Sinister 2 is the chilling sequel to the 2012 sleeper hit horror movie, that is in theaters now. Recently, I sat down with stars Shannyn Sossamon and James Ransone, as well as director Ciarán Foy and writer C. Robert Cargill. Check it out below!

In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity. The new story is a scary, suspenseful race against time to save a family from falling prey to the madness, movies, and murder conjured by Bughuul and his foot soldiers, the ghost kids.9-year-old twins Dylan and Zach Collins (portrayed by real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan) have been spirited away by their mother Courtney (Shannyn Sossamon of “Wayward Pines”) to a rural house in Illinois.

The home and property are just isolated enough to evade Courtney’s estranged husband Clint (Lea Coco), who has abused her and Dylan.

Friend's 'Hitman,' Eisenberg-Stewart 'Ultra' Bomb: Weekend Box Office Estimates
'Sinister 2' poster. 'American Ultra,' 'Hitman: Agent 47' and 'Sinister 2': Weekend box office bombs American Ultra, Hitman: Agent 47, and Sinister 2 are the new entries at the North American box office this weekend, Aug. 21-23, '15. All three of them are expected to underperform – with American Ultra having a particularly disastrous bow, especially for a movie starring Best Actor Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) and former Twilight star Kristen Stewart. Whether you blame it on a glut of movies targeting the same audience, a lack of major box office draws, or poor reviews, only one of the debutantes is expected to score more than $10 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters by Sunday evening. 'Sinister 2' According to early estimates found at Deadline.com, Ciarán Foy's Sinister 2 will lead the pack of newcomers with...

Sinister 2 – The Review
Sinister 2 shows us just how creepy twins can be [take it from me, I am one]… but does it live up to its predecessor?

Sinister 2 follows a family as they struggle with evil. Courtney Collins (Shannyn Sossamon) moves her twin sons Dylan and Zach (real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan) to an empty farmhouse while running from the abuse of their father Clint. What she doesn’t expect, is that there are forces much worse in her new home.

Although Bughuul is in Sinister 2 a bit more, it doesn’t make it scarier than the first film. In my opinion, I found the videos where children were acting out the murders of their families were far more disturbing. Director Ciarán Foy (Citadel) goes out of his way to explain the myth of Bughuul by going into more detail, which just ends up killing a bit of his mystery. I really did enjoy the creepy...

New Sinister 2 Movie Received Mostly Negative Reviews From Major Critics
Focus Features released their new horror/thriller film, "Sinister 2," into theaters today, August 21st, 2015, and all the top, major movie critics have served up their reviews, and it turns out that most of them just didn't have a positive outlook on it, giving it just an overall 30 score out of a possible 100 across 13 reviews at the Metacritic.com site. The film stars: James Ransone, Shannyn Sossamon, Robert Sloan and Dartanian Sloan. We've posted blurbs from a couple of the critics, below. Simon Abrams from RogerEbert.com, gave it a pretty weak 50 grade, stating: " Sinister 2 may be ambitious, but its best ideas are, as they're expressed, dumb, unmoving, and repetitive." Kyle Smith from the New York Post, gave it a 50 score, saying: "It’s somehow both too drawn-out and abrupt — but it’s got creepiness galore." Dave White over at TheWrap, gave it a 50 grade. He stated: "Visual stakes are heightened here,...

Interview: Sinister 2 Star James Ransone on Returning for the Sequel, His Approach to Deputy So & So, and More
This Friday, Sinister 2 arrives in theaters everywhere courtesy of Gramercy Pictures. The sequel follows James Ransone’s character from the first film, Deputy So & So, as he tracks down Bughuul to an isolated farmhouse where a mother (Shannyn Sossamon) and her twin sons (Robert and Dartanian Sloan) are currently living and must stop the demonic force before it claims another family.

Daily Dead had an opportunity to speak with Ransone earlier this week about returning for another Sinister, becoming a main character for the sequel, collaborating with director Ciarán Foy as well as his co-stars. Ransone also offered some hilarious insight into his process as an actor and even chatted with us about his time working on The Wire.

Thanks for speaking with me today, James—you were great in the film and it’s cool to see how the Deputy has evolved since the first Sinister. How much...

Interview: Director Ciarán Foy on Working with Kids, Getting His Job Through Twitter and More for Sinister 2
A few years ago, Irish filmmaker Ciarán Foy made a name for himself with Citadel, his haunting tale of agoraphobic horror that premiered at the SXSW Film Festival. His latest directorial effort, Sinister 2, is set to debut later this week and Daily Dead recently had the opportunity to speak with him about coming on board the sequel, working with the cast, his experiences collaborating with Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill, who co-wrote the script, and much more.

Sinister 2 is being released on August 21st from Gramercy Pictures and stars James Ransone as Deputy So & So, who has been tracking Bughuul since the events of the original Sinister and finds a woman (Shannyn Sossaman) and her twin sons (Robert and Dart Sloan) living in a rural house that just so happens to be the demonic force’s latest target. It’s soon a race against time for the...

Fresh Batch Of Sinister 2 Screenshots Will Send A Shiver Down Your Spine
See Full Gallery Here

Now that Ciaran Foy’s Sinister 2 is nearing its nationwide release in a couple of weeks, horror maestros Blumhouse Productions have debuted a series of high-res screenshots for the sequel that ought to send a shiver or two down your spine.

Maintaining the film’s decidedly retro, almost melancholic theme, the only sign of Bughuul is in the eerie snap of the blood-splattered child, with the demon’s elongated, silvery hand clamping onto his shoulder. Make no mistake though, we fully expect that the ancient, malevolent demon is responsible for the underlying terror glimpsed in the remaining images.

Taking the reins from Scott Derrickson following his move to Marvel and the Benedict Cumberbatch-led Doctor Strange, Foy will be working from a script penned by Derrickson and his writing partner, C. Robert Cargill – the pair who transformed Sinister into the sleeper horror hit of 2012. On...

Exclusive: 'Sinister 2' drags 'Wayward Pines'' Shannyn Sossamon into Bughuul's reign of terror
Clare Foley in Sinister (2012)
"Sinister" was honestly one of the most unnerving horror films I've seen over the past few years. The lawnmower scare? I jumped out of my seat, and that doesn't happen very often. Now Bughuul is back to terrify a brand-new family in "Sinister 2," the Ciaran Foy-directed sequel starring Shannyn Sossamon and James Ransone, and HitFix has the exclusive on four new images from the followup that hits theaters on August 21. Here's the plot: In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of “Wayward Pines”) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity. Sinister 2 Set Visit Interviews with Scott Derrickson, Ciaran Foy, Shannyn Sossamon, and James Ransone
Last August, I was invited to the set of Sinister 2, where it was instantly apparent that Bughuul was leaving his mark on a new family. While the snuff film-obsessed Bughuul was nowhere to be found, we were greeted by quite a few child actors who were playing his little killers in the new movie.

The movie takes place in a new house and with a new family, but "Deputy So and So" returns and appears to be on the trail of the pagan god who caused so much suffering in the first movie. The scenes I watched mainly revolved around Shannyn Sossamon and twin brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan, who teased something strange going on at a church. We also got to see a handful child actors who were made up as Bughuul's killer children and were haunting (or helping?) the new family.

I was among a handful of...

Scott Derickson’s Sinister was an incredibly striking and creepy horror movie, it’s one of the best examples of the current rejuvenation of the horror genre we’ve seen in the last few years, and as the laws of successful horror movies go, a sequel is on the cards. Though the reins of the Sinister 2 fall to Irish director Ciaran Foy (Citadel), the latest trailer should ease fans of the original. The atmosphere and creepy tone are still there, the kills will be brutal as ever, and the mythology of the series will be expanded on and we’ll get to know more about Bughuul, the horrific precedes at the centre of all the blood letting. Released: 21st August Synopsis: In the aftermath of the shocking events in “Sinister,” a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of “Wayward Pines”) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life brothers Robert and Dartanian Sloan...

Terror Hits Home In Bloody Red Band Trailer For Sinister 2
The evil of Bughuul is spreading in the chilling red-band trailer for Sinister 2. A sequel to the 2012 frightener that finds Citadel‘s Ciarán Foy taking the reins from Scott Derrickson, the film focuses on a new family that finds itself under siege by the same supernatural entity that the Oswalt clan previously fared so poorly against.

This time around, Deputy So and So (James Ransone, seemingly the human face of the franchise), having failed to prevent the brutal murders of true-crime writer Ellison Oswalt (Ethan Hawke) and his family, sets out on the trail of Bughuul, hoping to stop the demon before it claims another set of victims. Judging from all the blood and guts on display in the red-band trailer, though, he doesn’t seem to be doing a great job on that front.

Shannyn Sossamon and Robert and Dartanian Sloan play Bughuul’s latest targets, with Lea Coco...

Watch: The Evil Spirit Of Bughuul Haunts A New Family In The New Red Band Trailer For ‘Sinister 2’
In the original “Sinister,” Scott Derrickson’s lo-fi horror that was a surprise hit in the summer of 2013, true-crime writer Ellison Oswalt (Ethan Hawke) discovers a box of home movies in his attic that puts his family in danger. In short, it unleashes the evil spirit of Bughuul and, well, as you can guess, it doesn't end well for everyone. Derickson may have hightailed it out of there for the sequel (he’s directing Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” instead), but he did stick around to executive produce the film and co-write the script with original “Sinister” scriptwriter C. Robert Cargill. And regardless of his exit behind the camera, the franchise scored a pretty solid filmmaker for part two, Ciaran Foy, who wowed SXSW audiences in 2012 with his indie psychological horror “Citadel.” “Sinister 2” centers on an entirely new family and stars Shannyn Sossamon, James Ransone, and Robert and Dartanian Sloan.

New Sinister 2 Red-Band Trailer Expands the Mythology
Gramercy Pictures has released a new red-band trailer for the horror sequel Sinister 2. Directed by Ciarán Foy (Citadel), the story focuses on a new family in a new home that's haunted by the terrifying Bughuul, as James Ransone's Deputy So and So works to uncover the secrets behind the creature's existence before it's too late. I was a big fan of Scott Derrickson's original film so I'm definitely curious to see how the story progresses in the follow-up. I'm not sure if delving deeper into the mythology of Bughuul will lessen the impact of what was a striking and disturbing enigma in the first film, but I'm definitely game to find out. And judging by this new trailer, we're in for yet another series of brutal kills. Watch the new trailer below. Written by Scott Derrickson & C. Robert Cargill, the film also stars Shannyn Sossamon, Lea Coco,...

Open Wide and Watch the 'Sinister 2' Red Band Trailer
I didn't watch this red band trailer for Sinister 2, but I think the above image says more than enough about what it has to offer, now what that has to do with the story I'm not too sure, but the first one was interesting enough for me to give this one a peek, even if Scott Derrickson has decided to run off and direct Doctor Strange rather than return to helm his own sequel. The story picks up amid the aftermath of the first film and centers on a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death. James Ransone, who portrayed the concerned sheriff's deputy in Sinister, will be reprising his character. Directed by Ciaran Foy, the film will be releasing in theaters on Aug. 21. sb id="1542253" height="360" width="640"...

Clare Foley in Sinister (2012)
'Sinister 2' Trailer: The Boogeyman Wants Your Children!
Clare Foley in Sinister (2012)
A young family finds themselves targeted by a demonic presence in the first trailer for Sinister 2, which is set to hit theaters nationwide August 21. While most of the cast members from the 2012 thriller Sinister are not back for the sequel, except for James Ransone as "Deputy So and So," this story follows a new family that is targeted by The Bughuul. Will this sequel be able to match the intensity of the original?

In the aftermath of the shocking events in Sinister, a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon of Wayward Pines) and her 9-year-old twin sons (real-life twins Robert Sloan and Dartanian Sloan) find themselves in a rural house marked for death as the evil spirit of Bughuul continues to spread with frightening intensity. Scott Derrickson, who directed the original Sinister, wrote the script with his Sinister co-writer C. Robert Cargill. Ciaran Foy (Citadel) takes the helm for this thrilling...

Bughuul Returns With A Vengeance In Eerie First Trailer For Sinister 2
Hot on the heels of yesterday’s blood-curdling poster is the very first trailer for Ciaran Foy’s Sinister 2, which witnesses the return of the malevolent demon Bughuul for another bout of supernatural horror.

Boasting a decidedly retro theme, the follow-up once again orbits around disturbing reels of celluloid that appear to harbor a very dark and sinister – no pun intended – brand of evil. Having taken control at the helm following Scott Derrickson’s move to Marvel to take the reigns of Doctor Strange, Foy will be working on a script based from Derrickson himself and C. Robert Cargill, who both worked on the original 2012 sleeper hit.

In lieu of Ethan Hawke’s writer and his tortured family, Sinister 2 will shift the focus to a new group; specifically, a mother of two who soon finds that her humble abode is the between the crosshairs of evil. Essentially a revised take on the boogeyman,...

Demonic Sinister 2 Trailer
Bughuul is back for a second helping of family drama. This time around Citadel director Ciarán Foy is at the helm with C. Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson writing.
