It’s time to return to Philip Pullman’s fantasy world of dust, daemons and Asriel’s quest to free the worlds from religious tyranny. His Dark Materials is back for its third and final season, to tell the story of The Amber Spyglass. US viewers will be able to watch the season in double-bill instalments on HBO between Monday the 5th and 26th of December, while in the UK, all episodes will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer on Sunday the 18th of December, as well as airing on BBC One.

His Dark Materials season 3 receives an extended trailer teasing the conclusion of the fantasy drama. Based on Philip Pullman's book trilogy which itself was inspired by John Milton's Paradise Lost, HBO and BBC's fantasy adaptation follows an orphan, Lyra Belacqua (played by Logan's Dafne Keen), and Will Perry (Amir Wilson) as they travel through a series of parallel universes. Netflix has announced six upcoming natural history documentary series, starting with “Our Universe,” narrated by Morgan Freeman, on November 22. The shows all focus on different aspects of the natural world, from an expansive look into the universe’s origins, to life on planet Earth and how its oceans operate and exist.

Additional new series include a continuation of 2019’s “Our Planet” with “Our Planet II,” and natural historian David Attenborough is once again slated to narrate the new series. Netflix said that more than 100 million households have watched the original “Our Planet” since it was released in April 2019.

The HBO hit show, His Dark Materials, is set to return later this year with an eight-episode run for season 3, which will conclude the series. The show will premiere on December 5 with the first two episodes back-to-back on HBO, then will be available to stream on HBO Max. The show will then, be premiering two episodes each week, culminating in the series finale, which will premiere on December 26.

HBO has released the latest trailer for the show as well as a new poster and images.

His Dark Materials is returning soon for its third season and final season on HBO. Based on the book series by Philip Pullman, the story revolves around an orphan (Keen) who goes looking for a missing friend and discovers a link to a mysterious substance called Dust. This leads her to an epic journey that takes her to other worlds.

"There are forces out there, Lyra, that you can't begin to understand."

So says everyone's favorite bad mother, Marisa Coulter (Ruth Wilson), at the start of the long-awaited trailer for "His Dark Materials" season 3. The promo makes good on that promise, too, showing the series' heroes Lyra (Dafne Keen) and Will (Amir Wilson) getting caught up in the middle of a war between Lyra's equally bad dad Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) and all the powers at the Authority's disposal. Also, there are angels, some familiar witches, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby (!), who's (sorta?) back from the dead after his tragic demise at the end of season 2.

All this and more awaits us in season 3, which adapts the third and final entry in Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" novel trilogy "The Amber Spyglass," aka the weirdest chapter in Pullman's subversive re-imagining of John Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost.

HBO announced Friday that the third and final season of the fantasy drama is set to premiere Monday, December 5, at 9 p.m.

Two episodes will be available on premiere night, and two episodes will air each week until the series finale on Monday, December 2.

The final season is based on The Amber Spyglass, the final novel in Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy.

"In the final chapter of this epic fantasy series, Lyra (Dafne Keen), the prophesied child, and Will (Amir Wilson), the bearer of The Subtle Knife, must journey to a dark place from which no one has ever returned," the logline reads.

"As her father’s great war against the Authority edges closer, they will learn that saving the worlds comes at a terrible price."

The series stars Dafne Keen as Lyra, Amir Wilson as Will, Ruth Wilson as Mrs.

Just like a balloon, His Dark Materials‘ Lee Scoresby has risen.

The fantasy series’ final season trailer, which HBO released Friday, ended with a shot of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Lee, who was super dead by the final moments of the Season 2 finale. (If you’ve read Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials novels, on which the show is based, Lee’s reappearance makes sense. But if you haven’t, we won’t spoil you as to why or how he’s somehow still around.)

Fleabag star Sian Clifford and Sherlock actor Jonathan Aris are joining BBC and HBO fantasy series His Dark Materials.

The duo are joining as Agent Salmakia and Commander Roke, respectively, both ‘Gallivespian Spies’. In the Philip Pullman story, Gallivespians are tiny humanoids who evolved in their native universe’s earth.

Filming is underway on the third and final season of His Dark Materials, the BBC and HBO’s adaptation of Philip Pullman’s beloved fantasy adventure novels.

Season 3 will be based on The Amber Spyglass, the most complex and ambitious of Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy of novels, as Lyra and Will travel through different worlds to find each other.

Bad Wolf, in association with New Line Cinema, cracked open the clapperboards on May 24, according to a picture of Dafne Keen (Lyra) and Amir Wilson (Will) released to celebrate the shoot.

Production is taking place at Wolf Studios Wales stages and on location throughout Wales and England. Directors are Amit Gupta, Charles Martin, and Weronika Tofilska.

Returning cast includes Ruth Wilson (Mrs. Coulter), Simone Kirby (Mary Malone), Will Keen (Father McPhail), Jade Anouka (Ruta Skadi), Ruta Gedminstas (Serafina Pekkala), and James McAvoy (Lord Asriel).

Tyrant will return to FX on July 6 with its third season, and someone new has been added to the cast. Deadline reported that Jamie Ward will appear in a recurring role on the series. He will appear in five episodes of season three, according to his listing on IMDb. His first appearance is set for the season premiere.
