Giovanni Iuliani

IMDbProStarmeterSee rank
Giovanni Iuliani (1940- ) is a Montréal-born circus and sideshow performer and historian, and a professional clown. Fascinated with the circus since childhood (when he'd listen to "Jerry at the Circus" and "The Clyde Beatty Show" on the radio), Iuliani eventually worked as a sideshow talker, ringmaster, and clown, touring all over North America during his long career. Considered a legend in his field, Iuliani works to keep the old-time circus tradition alive through passing generations. He ran clown workshops, co-founded the National Clown Circus, and has written several books about and lectured extensively on circus history.

Iuliani appeared as the sideshow talker at the 1930s-era carnival revival show Carnivàle Lune Bleue during the 2010 season (when it was located in Bromont, Québec).

A mentor and "godfather" figure to the Montréal-based Blue Mushroom Sirkus Psyshow troupe (founded by former Carnivàle Lune Bleue colleagues), Iuliani is the subject of a proposed documentary film produced by Blue Mushroom owner/performer The Mighty Leviticus (Lester Carl Nickerson).
