The latest action thriller outing from genre icon Jason Statham has quietly landed on streaming. The actor and martial artist continues to fly the flag for crowd-pleasing, no-nonsense action fare, with The Beekeeper star delivering his own take on Liam Neeson’s Taken in A Working Man, which finds The Stath tracking down his friend's daughter after she’s suddenly kidnapped. Thankfully, he has a particular set of skills that he can put to good use.
Directed by The Beekeeper’s David Ayer, and with a script from Statham’s Expendables co-star Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man also stars David Harbour, Michael Peña (End of Watch), Jason Flemyng, Arianna Rivas (The Black Phone 2), Noemi Gonzalez (Selena: The Series), and Emmett J. Scanlan. A Working Man is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and you can check out the official synopsis below.

Looking for that classic, hard-hitting Jason Statham action flick? Well, look no further. “A Working Man” delivers exactly what you’d expect: an action-packed thrill ride featuring a good-hearted, tough-as-nails veteran who spends most of his time punching and shooting his way through trouble.
The action genre welcomes another entry with “A Working Man,” a 2025 American action thriller starring the ever-reliable Jason Statham. The film marks a reunion between Statham and director David Ayer, following their successful collaboration on “The Beekeeper.” Adding to the action pedigree, the project features action cinema icon Sylvester Stallone, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ayer. This collaboration hints at a continuation of their prior successful formula, promising audiences a heavy dose of Statham’s signature action prowess. The story centers on a former elite operative attempting to live a quiet life as a working man, but who is inevitably drawn back into the dangerous world he left behind.

Directed by David Ayer and co-written by Ayer and Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man attempts to balance the rough, working-class world with brutal, high-stakes action. While it delivers on its promise of hard-hitting fights and suspense, it struggles to offer much beyond the standard revenge-thriller formula.
The story follows Levon Cade (Jason Statham) as he reluctantly leaves behind his peaceful life to track down a dangerous human trafficking ring. When you think of Jason Statham, you think of high-octane action, cold-blooded revenge, and a whole lot of punching people in the face. But in A Working Man, David Ayer wanted to give audiences a different side of the action superstar — one that lets him smile, connect, and embrace a family dynamic in a way rarely seen in his filmography. The result? A grittier, more emotionally resonant thriller that still delivers all the hard-hitting action that fans expect.
For Ayer and Statham, that's a striking departure from Statham’s usual lone-wolf persona. While his characters occasionally have loved ones in the background — maybe a daughter in distress or a fallen comrade to avenge — his roles rarely allow for the warmth and connection that Ayer was determined to explore, as the director explained to Collider's Steve Weintraub in an interview ahead of the movie's release later this month. He said:...

Jason Statham is back to make yet another case for his place atop the current, disappointingly uncrowded B-Movie Star mountain. The actor has kept busy as of late by starring at least once a year in an entertaining, usually well-received mid-budget action thriller, and 2025 is no exception to that trend. He is the star of this week’s “A Working Man,” a new vigilante thriller that should not only satisfy fans of last year’s “The Beekeeper” but also marks a behind-the-scenes reunion between that film’s star and director.

David Ayer, the director of films like The Beekeeper, Fury, and 2016's Suicide Squad, has seemingly accepted that his cut of the superhero film based on nothing but villains won't be released any time soon - but that doesn't mean he is giving up on it either. On social media, the director often addresses the existence of his director's cut, and, like with Zack Snyder's Justice League, internet legions have created the hashtag movement #ReleaseTheAyerCut. However, Warner Bros. has not heard the pleas as they did with Snyder, and Suicide Squad: The Director's Cut remains a shelved movie.

Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone have collaborated on multiple projects over the years, and we’re not just talking about the four Expendables movies they made together. Stallone also wrote the screenplay for the 2013 Statham action film Homefront, which was directed by Gary Fleder and based on a novel by Chuck Logan. Now, Statham and Stallone are continuing their working relationship with the action thriller A Working Man, which also reunites Statham with his The Beekeeper director David Ayer – and looks to be very much along the same lines as that film. A Working Man is set to reach theatres on March 28th, and in anticipation of its release, we decided to put together a list of everything we know about the movie. Here we go:

The action moviemaking duo of Jason Statham and director David Ayer continue to deliver following last year’s The Beekeeper, with their latest effort, this month’s A Working Man, now landing a knockout score on Rotten Tomatoes. While The Stath consistently delivers in the action department, his movies don’t always succeed with the critics. Thankfully, A Working Man does both, as the newly revealed “fresh” score confirms.
While not quite reaching the buzzing heights of The Beekeeper’s 71%, A Working Man is not far behind. The action thriller now stands at a solid 67% at time of writing, with critics heaping praise on Statham and Ayer’s return. MovieWeb’s own Julian Roman heaped praise on A Working Man, and can now feel The Stath’s next action franchise incoming...

David Ayer's new action film, A Working Man, starring Jason Statham, is hitting theaters this Friday. The two hope to recreate the box office success they had with 2024's The Beekeeper. If the film proves successful, Ayer recently revealed that he could envision the movie launching a brand-new action franchise and says he would be up for directing a sequel.
Ayer's latest collaboration with Statham, A Working Man, is based on Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Trade, which is the first of a twelve-book series. When asked by The Hollywood Reporter whether he would make a sequel, given the film's ending, Ayer noted that there was plenty of source material to pull from and believes a sequel is in the cards if given the green light. "Yeah, absolutely. Chuck wrote 12 books," Ayer said. "It’s a really interesting character. I feel like we cracked the code with Jason and worldizing Chuck’s novels.

Jason Statham and director David Ayer give vile human traffickers a brutal comeuppance in A Working Man, a bone-crushing actioner that delivers exactly what audiences expect.Sylvester Stallone adapts the script from the novel Levon's Trade by Chuck Dixon, the first in a popular series of 12 books. Can you smell the franchise cooking? A Working Man is chock-full of archetypal characters with the requisite damsel in distress, loathsome villains, and a butt-kicking hero unfairly maligned for trying to do the right thing against daunting odds. There are honestly not many surprises, but you'll walk out of the theater sufficiently entertained.

Jason Statham is good at his job, which explains why he keeps booking the same kinds of movies — well, that and the fact that people keep watching them. Reuniting the British action star with “The Beekeeper” writer-director David Ayer, “A Working Man” makes the least effort yet to provide backstory or motive before sending Statham’s latest character, Levon Cade, on a spectacularly violent rampage. Statham’s responsibility here is to make the Royal Marines veteran turned Chicago construction foreman look experienced enough to do serious damage, without directly repeating the dozen other movies in which he’s done so already.
Statham plays the “reluctant” vigilante, putting aside his uniquely lethal skill set for a respectable job and shared custody of his young daughter (Isla Gie), which isn’t so easy while living out of a rented pickup truck. Before the trouble starts, Levon is beloved by all, with co-workers...

Things aren’t going very well for Jason Statham’s character in the actor’s new action vehicle. He’s sleeping in his car, desperately in need of funds for the legal fees necessary to secure custody of his young daughter (Isla Gie) from her grandfather. And although he has a solid job as a construction foreman, trouble always seems to come his way, as when he’s forced to reveal his tremendous fighting skills when a gang of toughs show up to threaten one of his workers.
“You didn’t see anything,” he tells his boss’ daughter Jenny (Arrianna Rivas) after she witnesses him in action and guesses correctly that he’s no mere working man, despite the film’s title.

Jason Statham’s Levon Cade isn’t just a simple “working man.” Sure, he’s putting in the sweat equity as a foreman at his friend Joe’s (Michael Peña) construction company, but it’s not long into David Ayer’s film before we learn of his past as a highly trained and decorated member of the British military. Full of close-ups of bullets, dog tags, helmets, and British and American flags, the opening credits serve up a barrage of images of military fetishization, only for the film to leave us with the realization that Levon’s service was underappreciated.
Not only is Levon blamed by his rich ex-father-in-law (Richard Heap) for the death of his mother—she committed suicide while he was serving overseas—but his lawyers suggest that his untreated Ptsd will make it difficult for him to get custody of his daughter (Isla Gie). The notion of...

With a Jason Statham-starring movie you know upfront what to expect. A Working Man is no different. In fact, I don’t know why they bother to give these movies titles. Just call it Jason Statham and put a number after that for all the inevitable sequels.
A Working Man seems set up to start a franchise for Statham in which he plays Levon Cade, a former Royal Guard soldier now working as a blue collar Chicago construction worker who is trying to be a good family man grieving the loss of his wife and attempting to get custody of their daughter, Merry (Isla Gie) whose grandfather is attempting to take away from Levon. Whether he’s an ex-assassin-turned-beekeeper, or an assassin posing as a mechanic, an ex- Special Forces soldier dragged out of retirement for one last mission, or even just a run-of-the-mill unlicensed street salesman, Jason Statham always brings a gritty magnetism to the screen. Even when what’s playing on the screen has been panned by both critics and audiences alike. Such is the case with the 2013 action thriller, Parker, which is now headed to free streaming.
But, while Parker may have been panned at the time, it’s worth a watch for anyone looking for a reliably charming performance from The Stath, who once again demonstrates his particular set of skills in this tale of a professional thief who finds himself double-crossed and left for dead.
Directed by Taylor Hackford and written by John J. McLaughlin, Parker sees Jason Statham team-up with Jennifer Lopez while facing off against The Shield star Michael Chiklis.

If action movies from the ’80s get your blood pumping, you’ll want to pay attention to the hype behind David Ayer and Jason Stathams latest cinematic beat-down, A Working Man. The first reactions to the duo’s latest display of one-man-army madness are making the rounds on social media. The final trailer has now been released from Amazon MGM Studios before it barrels into theaters on March 28.

Following the monumental success of last year’s The Beekeeper, action movie icon Jason Statham returns to the big screen this week with the equally brilliant-looking A Working Man. Well, we say “equally brilliant,” but based on the first reactions, the reunion of Statham and The Beekeeper’s David Ayer is sounding even better.
Beginning with X/Twitter user and critic @NextBestPicture, A Working Man finds Statham at his absolute best, with the "no-nonsense blockbuster” delivering nothing less than “relentless entertainment, packed with hard-hitting set pieces and a Statham performance that’s as fierce as it is grounded.”

While it may run a bit long, this blue-collar, no-nonsense blockbuster delivers relentless entertainment, packed with hard-hitting set pieces and a Statham performance that’s as fierce as it is grounded.

In a sit-down conversation with uInterview, A Working Man actresses Arianna Rivas and Noemí González reflected on their favorite scenes to film with veteran actor Jason Statham. The film follows a decorated veteran (Statham) who leaves the military behind to lead a simple life, but when his boss’ daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers, he returns to the corrupt world from which he escaped. The two actresses reflected on their experiences working with Statham. Rivas told uInterview founder Erik Meers, “For me, it was one of the final scenes, and it was where – I won’t spoil too much – but basically, I got to watch him go through this very chaotic environment. And to watch him in his laser focus, eyes-on-the-prize mode was absolutely just so captivating and exciting and just cool. He was so cool in that moment and I think that’s the one that I hang onto the most.

Action icon Jason Statham continues to fly the flag for crowd-pleasing action movie fare, with the actor and martial artist now joining forces with the perfect director for another tale of a man with a mysterious past who is forced to fight for justice. The action thriller project does not yet have a title, but is now shooting in Enniskerry, Ireland, and will see The Stath working under the direction of Ric Roman Waugh, who is best known for helming the Gerard Butler-led Angel Has Fallen and Greenland.

The actor has become well-known for his particular set of skills, expertly throwing his fists, feet and bullets at anyone who dares cross his path, but his movies are often divisive among critics and audiences. Well, this action thriller finds the two groups in agreement: it’s great.
Directed by Guy Ritchie in his fourth collaboration with Jason Statham, and co-written by Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and Marn Davies, Wrath of Man boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Chris Reilly, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan, and Scott Eastwood. Jason Stathamis a safe pair of fast hands when it comes to delivering the action, and audiences have been rediscovering one of his most underrated movies thanks to free streaming. Best known for the likes of the Fast and Furious franchise, The Expendables, The Mechanic, and The Beekeeper (which is now getting a sequel), many Statham fans slept on the 2012 outing Safe. Thankfully, that’s all changed, with the movie now entering the streaming charts.
Directed by Boaz Yakin, who is best known for helming Remember the Titans and writing the likes of Now You See Me and The Harder They Fall, Safe finds The Stath fighting one of his hardest battles as he faces off with the Russian mafia, the Chinese Triads, and a group of corrupt NYPD officers all at once. Action movie icon Jason Stathamis used to being able to punch his enemies into submission. But what if his enemy is a giant prehistoric monster? While he may have faced down several fellow action stars bigger than him, such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel, 2018’s The Meg throws the actor and martial artist into the jaws of a massive shark, with audiences loving the match-up as the movie makes a splash on streaming.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub from a screenplay by Dean Georgaris, Jon Hoeber, and Erich Hoeber, The Meg is loosely based on the 1997 novel by Steve Alten. Led by Jason Statham, the rest of the cast includes Li Bingbing, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose, Winston Chao, and Cliff Curtis, all of whom find themselves as living chum when a 75-foot-long megalodon escapes from the depths of the Mariana Trench and begins to wreak havoc. “All right...let’s play.” Action movie icon Jason Statham does what he does best in a new action-packed clip from this month’s highly anticipated action thriller, A Working Man. Directed by The Beekeeper’s David Ayer, and with a script from Statham’s Expendables co-star Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man is set to hit theaters on March 28, 2025, and promises to be another crowd-pleasing action outing much like last year’s surprise hit, The Beekeeper.
You can check out the footage below, which finds The Stath entering the lion’s den where a criminal overlord named Dutch vastly underestimates the granite-jawed killer in front of him. Making the classic mistake of telling his henchmen to “get him,” Statham tears through his assailants with ease, throwing fists, breaking bones, and no doubt resulting in cheers and applause from the audience.

A clip from Jason Statham's soon-to-debut A Working Man has arrived. It showcases one of the brutal, bone-breaking fights audiences can expect from the action movie, which hits theaters this March.
The trailer features Statham's character, Levon Cade, in a fierce brawl with a gang after refusing to confirm he is not a law enforcement agent. The popular Irish band The Dropkick Murphy's The Boys Are Back plays over the exhilarating sequence as Cade breaks a few bones and bashes a couple of heads in. Impressed by Cade, the gang leader halts the violence and shakes their assailant's battle-worn hand, which reassures him Cade is not a cop. "You're a working man," he declares.

But just when he thought he was out, they Pull him back in when human traffickers kidnap his boss’s daughter. He’ll need to dig up all his old training, skills and senses to bring her back home. Amazon MGM Studios has dropped the first clip from A Working Man, the upcoming action thriller featuring Jason Statham doing what he does best: kicking ass and grunting monosyllabically.
The clip finds Levon Cade (Statham) brought before Dutch (Chidi Ajufo), who seems to be sitting upon some type of motorcycle club version of the Iron Throne. Dutch suspects that Cade might be a cop and orders his underlings to go through Cade’s pockets. Cue broken limbs, smashed faces, and all-around mayhem. Check out the clip for yourself above!

The Beekeeper star Jason Statham continues to fly the flag for wonderfully no-nonsense action movie fare, and his next movie, the Jean-François Richet directed Mutiny, has now been given a release date. Sadly, it’s going to be a little while before we catch The Stath’s next violent vendetta.
As per a report by Deadline, Mutiny will land in theaters next year on January 9, 2026, with Lionsgate putting Statham’s latest action thriller up against Universal’s M3GAN spin-off Soulm8te, which releases the week before on January 2. Other than that, the path is clear for Mutiny to make a killing at the box office on its opening weekend.
Mutiny sees Statham in the role as both star and producer as he joins forces with the director behind 2023’s Gerard Butler-led Plane, Jean-François Richet, with the action outing finding The Mechanic star on the run while uncovering a major global conspiracy.

Jason Statham is one of the most beloved and successful action heroes. With several projects a year, the actor is set to reunite again with the director of 2024's The Beekeeper.
Following the success of the 2024 action film, Statham teamed up again with David Ayer for a new action movie. The upcoming project is titled A Working Man, which bears several similarities with The Beekeeper, as Statham plays Levon Cade, a character who seems a regular construction worker, but hides a past that includes a military career in the black ops. On X, Ayer teased the upcoming film with a black-and-white shot of Statham with a construction cap as he holds a gun.

Action icon and The Beekeeper star Jason Statham is transformed into a video game icon in this concept trailer for a potential Hitman adaptation. Taking footage from Statham’s previous movies, the much-maligned Hitman movies that have already been made, and using a touch of AI (shudder), the footage (via Screen Trailers) demonstrates what a movie led by The Stath as Agent 47 could look like. And no doubt fans of The Mechanic star will be hoping it becomes reality.
The Hitman video games, which follow the mysterious assassin Agent 47 as he travels the world taking out targets assigned to him by the even more mysterious International Contract Agency (Ica), has already been adapted for the big screen twice before. But neither has really satisfied fans of the game, action fans, or, well, anyone, really.

The first trailer for the revenge thriller A Working Man, starring Jason Statham, went live this week. It’s a back-to-basics premise in line with the kind of mindless action movies that once blanketed the landscape 30 to 40 years ago, you know, the kind that usually starred Sylvester Stallone….hey wait, he wrote this thing! We should have guessed, but Sly’s name is credited on the script, alongside director David Ayer. The screenplay is based on the book “Levon’s Trade” by Chuck Dixon. Statham’s character, Levon Cade, once served for the military running black ops missions. Eventually he gave up that kind of stressful life for a quiet job as a construction worker. But you know how these types of stories go. Just when he thought he was out, they Pull him back in when human traffickers kidnap his boss’s daughter. He’ll need all his skills to bring her back home.

Amazon MGM has released the action-packed first trailer for A Working Man, which stars Jason Statham as a seemingly average, blue-collar construction site employee who happens to be a one-man wrecking crew himself.
Directed by David Ayer, A Working Man is based on the 2014 novel Levon's Trade (the film's original title) by Chuck Dixon, and follows Statham's former black ops agent attempting to lead a peaceful life working as his friend's foreman.

In bleak and troubled times, sometimes all it takes is seeing Jason Statham scowling in a hardhat to make it feel like maybe everything will be okay in the end after all. And that's exactly what we get in the no fuss, no muss first trailer for A Working Man, the Stath's latest team-up with The Beekeeper director David Ayer. Boasting a screenplay co-written by Ayer alongside action icon Sylvester Stallone, this one — surely the second in what will come to be known as The Three (Blue) Collars Trilogy — sees Stath play brilliantly named ex-black ops agent Levon Cade, whose humble construction worker life is upended when his boss' daughter goes missing. If it sounds like an old-school action dust-up waiting to happen, then it looks like one too — and a darn tasty one at that. Just check out the trailer below:

You’ll wish he was a cop. Action movie icon Jason Statham takes the fight to human traffickers in the fist-throwing, one-liner delivering first trailer for this year’s A Working Man. Formerly titled Levon’s Trade, A Working Man finds The Stath on delightfully familiar ground as a former Royal Marine-turned-construction worker who, you guessed it, will call upon his particular set of skills once again when his boss and friend’s teenage daughter is suddenly kidnapped. It's no exaggeration to say that A Working Man looks like everything you could want from a Jason Statham movie, and you can see for yourself by checking out the trailer below.
Directed by The Beekeeper’s David Ayer, and with a script from Statham’s Expendables co-star Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man also stars an almost unrecognizable David Harbour (Stranger Things), as well as Michael Peña (End of Watch), Jason Flemyng, Arianna Rivas...
