Since the days of John Wayne and Howard Hawks, Western movies have been among the most respected in cinema, blending everything from adventure and action with social commentary and history. Having built up the careers of Hollywood icons like Clint Eastwood, John Ford, and Kevin Costner, the genre has also delivered a consistent line of fantastic films, from classics like The Searchers to modern hits like Django Unchained.

While some Westerns take no time to get to the action side of the genre, others have shown a penchant for telling drawn-out, slow-burn stories, which focus on characters and tension instead of gunfights. Hallmark Mystery has announced the next, upcoming mystery movie about a Medieval Ball Fundraiser that turns into a murder mystery. Nikki DeLoach is back as Goldy Berry, while Andrew Walker accompanies her as Detective Tom Schultz.

Lionsgate has snapped up the pic from International Film Trust (Ift) for the U.S. and U.K., and it has bought the title from Minds Eye Entertainment for Canada. Additional territories sold by Ift include Latin America (California), Benelux (Dutch Filmworks), Australia (Defiant Screen), Italy (Leone), South Korea (Joy N Cinema) and Greece (Tanweer).

Lionsgate will release the film as a multi-platform title.

International Film Trust (Ift) has sold several international territories on action thriller “Dangerous,” starring Scott Eastwood and Mel Gibson.

Territories sold include Koch for Germany, You Planet for Spain, Eagle for the Middle East, Top Film for the Cis, Programme 4 Media for Eastern Europe, and Pris for Portugal.

International Film Trust (Ift) has closed key territory sales on upcoming Canadian action thriller Dangerous starring Scott Eastwood, currently riding high on a strong critical response to awards contender The Outpost.

Rights have gone to Koch for Germany, You Planet for Spain, Eagle for the Middle East, Top Film for the Cis, Programme 4 Media for Eastern Europe, and Pris for Portugal.

We’ve got a trailer here for you to watch for a new action thriller called Daughter of the Wolf, which stars Mma and action star Gina Carano. It seems like it’s been awhile since we’ve seen her in a movie, but she’s back in a badass action-packed role that her fans should enjoy.

Carano takes on the role of Clair Hamilton in the film, a "military specialist” who returns home from the Middle East only to find that her son has been kidnapped. So, she embarks on a mission to hunt down the mysterious leader of the gang who's holding him for ransom.

The film comes from director David Hackl (Saw V and Life on the Line) and the full cast includes Richard Dreyfuss, Brendan Fehr, Sydelle Noel, Brock Morgan, and Stew McLean.
