Trinity Rodman’s spectacular debut goal highlighted the U.S. women’s national team’s commanding 3-0 victory over Zambia in their Olympic opener Thursday night.
Rodman, the daughter of basketball star Dennis Rodman, made her first Olympic appearance, showcasing her skill with a remarkable spin move in the 17th minute, leaving defender Martha Tembo off-balance before calmly slotting the ball past Zambian goalkeeper Ngambo Musole.
“It was purely instinctual,” Rodman said of her move, which she dubbed the “Trin Spin.” “I knew taking a touch forward would have pushed me out of scoring position, so I tried to throw her off balance. It worked perfectly.”

U.S. Women’s National Team soccer coach Vlatko Andonovski has resigned, according to multiple reports, after failing to lead the squad past the Round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The powerhouse U.S team had previously never done worse than third place in the tournament, and were going for a third consecutive title and fifth overall this year.
Andonovski had many questioning his reliance on players such as Megan Rapinoe, who hadn’t played much before the tournament and seemed off in her play, corner kicks and, certainly, one vital penalty kick.
In the team’s Round of 16 game, which ended with a penalty shootout versus Sweden, strikes from players on both sides were poor, with several players missing the target including Rapinoe. Sweden won that contest 5-4 in penalties and advanced, eliminating the U.S. team which had entered the competition with the world No.

U.S. soccer legend Carli Lloyd blasted the U.S. Women’s national team after a lackluster 0-0 tie today in the final group stage match against a game Portugal squad.
The U.S. outshot Portugal 17-6, but was almost eliminated from the tournament when a strike from Portuguese sub Ana Capeta hit the right post in extra minutes.
Lloyd, speaking on the Fox Soccer aftershow was very clear how close the No. 1 ranked, reigning 2-time champion U.S. women came to being eliminated and how little they had to do in preventing that catastrophe.
“The player of the match was that post. You’re lucky not to be going home right now.”

Tom Sandoval is off filming a reality competition series right now, which means he's missing the start of Vanderpump Rules season 11. Tom was involved in the biggest reality TV scandal of the year, nicknamed Scandoval. Soccer great Carli Lloyd definitely questioned her decision when she arrived for the filming of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test for Fox. There wasn’t any time to prepare for the extreme heat and effort required to perform quasi-military training exercises for the entertainment of TV viewers.
“I didn’t even understand fully what I was getting into until after the contract was signed,” Lloyd said during a panel with fellow contestants Hannah Brown and Kenya Moore at Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary + Unscripted event. “And then once the little snippets of what we were up against came through, I had a little second-guessing. Actress Beverley Mitchell became ill during a mission on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test and had to leave the show, but her journey was very inspiring for several reasons. On Special Forces, the 16 celebrity recruits were put through a series of demanding training exercises by directing staff agents Rudy Reyes, Mark Billingham, Jason Fox and Remi Adeleke, an elite team of ex-special forces operatives. The contestants do not have to eliminate each other, but instead they decide when they have reached their breaking points, often due to illness or injury.
Beverley made it to the Top 9 of Special Forces, toughing it out through several very difficult missions. However, on day 4, her body finally gave out during an especially grueling challenge in the over 100-degree heat in the Wadi Run desert in Jordan. The contestants, including Special Forces' Hannah Brown, were split into two teams that had to push vehicles in neutral up a steep incline.

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test is different from other reality competition shows because it will not feature eliminations, which is great for the contestants. The only way for the celebrity recruits to leave the show is if they decide that they want to, either because they fail, or because they are injured. They could also be removed by force by one of the agents who will train them. However, unlike shows such as Big Brother or Survivor, during which fellow contestants vote each other out of the competition, Special Forces leaves it up to the individual to stay or go. Special Forces: World's Toughest Test star Beverley Mitchell shared her biggest takeaway from the first episode of the grueling reality competition series. Beverley began Special Forces with little confidence in herself and her ability to complete the military training challenges. She even placed herself last when the celebrity recruits were asked to line up in order from strongest to weakest. During a conversation with the drill instructors, she admitted that she has never felt good enough in her life. However, she began to see her worth after speaking with them. When the competitors were asked to line up in order again, Beverley showed that she gained confidence by moving herself ahead of her fellow recruits Melanie "Mel B" Brown, Hannah Brown, and Anthony Scaramucci.
In an Instagram post, Beverley shared a clip of pictures and videos from Special Forces set to the song "Keeping Your Head Up (Jonas Blue Remix)" by Birdy.

However, the third task caused Montell's injury. The recruits had to fight one of the DS agents who wore a red padded suit and then immediately calm themselves when told to in order to show that they had control of their emotions. Kate Gosselin is back on reality TV after ending Kate Plus 8, but her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, thinks his ex-wife's new show will be a "challenge." The couple separated back in December 2009 and haven't seen eye to eye since. Since their TLC show Jon and Kate Plus 8 ended, the two have been at one another's throats, always trying to cut each other down.
News broke that Kate would be back on the small screen, but this time participating in a military-style show. According to In Touch, Jon is not at all surprised by Kate's move to get back on television since reality TV is her "bread and butter." Jon also mocked his former wife for not enjoying any form of hard Hitt workout, noting he isn't shocked that show's theme has been such a "challenge" for her. As fans will recall, Jon and Kate have rarely seen eye to eye, with...

Having someone say, “If you should die…” is certainly one way to open the trailer for Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Fox’s new reality competition that will get a two-hour premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 8/7c.
In the new series, 16 celebrities will “try to survive” an array of demanding training exercises that expose them to “the harshest of environments” and “simulate the highly classified selection process” for the Special Forces, as led by Directing Staff (DS) agents Rudy Reyes, Mark “Billy” Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox and Remi Adeleke — an elite team of ex-operatives.
