Dwight Howard recently talked about some grueling aspects of Dancing With the Stars, including long practices.

While appearing on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast, Gil’s Arena, he indicated he spent nine hours the other day practicing dances.

“I done lost 15 pounds just dancing,” Howard admitted, adding, “I’m cut up out of lifting weights every day.”

Howard also spoke about his harrowing ordeal during another reality TV competition show.

According to Howard, he experienced “Ptsd” after he participated in Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

The former Los Angeles Lakers star and NBA Champion revealed his time on that show included all sorts of challenging experiences, such as being “kidnapped and set on fire.”

U.S. Women’s National Team soccer coach Vlatko Andonovski has resigned, according to multiple reports, after failing to lead the squad past the Round of 16 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. The powerhouse U.S team had previously never done worse than third place in the tournament, and were going for a third consecutive title and fifth overall this year.

Andonovski had many questioning his reliance on players such as Megan Rapinoe, who hadn’t played much before the tournament and seemed off in her play, corner kicks and, certainly, one vital penalty kick.

In the team’s Round of 16 game, which ended with a penalty shootout versus Sweden, strikes from players on both sides were poor, with several players missing the target including Rapinoe. Sweden won that contest 5-4 in penalties and advanced, eliminating the U.S. team which had entered the competition with the world No.

U.S. soccer legend Carli Lloyd blasted the U.S. Women’s national team after a lackluster 0-0 tie today in the final group stage match against a game Portugal squad.

The U.S. outshot Portugal 17-6, but was almost eliminated from the tournament when a strike from Portuguese sub Ana Capeta hit the right post in extra minutes.

The U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup has undergone significant changes since the 2019 tournament in France.

Gone are veteran standouts Abby Wambach, Carli Lloyd and Ali Krieger. In their places are 14 new players named to their first World Cup roster. Among them is 18-year-old Alyssa Thompson, the team’s youngest player.

The roster for this summer’s New Zealand and Australia-set tournament features players born in three different decades and includes some with just one cap and others with well over 100. They range from Thompson to to 38-year-old Megan Rapinoe, who has announced she will retire from competitive soccer. Though not likely to start, Rapinoe will likely make her 200th appearance for Team USA, becoming the 14th player in Uswnt history to do so.

In a milestone media moment for women’s sports, Fox Sports is about to deliver the most expansive coverage of a FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament in history – an investment driven by the success of the U.S. national team and its pursuit of an unprecedented third consecutive victory.

From July 20 through Aug. 20, cabler Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and the Fox broadcast network will serve up more than 190 hours of live soccer programming from the tournament staged in Australia and New Zealand. Jamie Lynn Spears, Kate Gosselin and Mel B are among the 16 celebrity contestants competing on Fox’s new reality competition, “Special Forces: The Ultimate Test”, it was announced Wednesday.

“Special Forces: The Ultimate Test”, slated for a January 2023 premiere, is being described as “the ultimate celebrity social experiment.” The competition series, which will not have formal eliminations, finds the celebrities enduring “the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process,” according to Fox. The only way for the celebrity recruits to leave is to go on their own accord, whether through failure or injury or by force.

Fox will put a group of celebrities through intense military-style training in a new competition show.

The network has set a January premiere date for Special Forces: The Ultimate Test, which will follow 16 celebs as they take on a series of challenges pulled from the actual special forces selection process under the eye of four former military operatives.

Fox announced the series Wednesday during its time at the Television Critics Association press tour. The network has also added six actors — including Emmy winner Margo Martindale and Emmy nominee Molly Parker — to its courtroom anthology Accused and set a premiere date for its previously announced Lego Masters celebrity holiday edition.

Ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, soccer’s governing body FIFA is launching a free streaming service.

The organization says FIFA+ will provide access to thousands of live and archive matches, news and tournament information and a suite of original series from the likes of Fulwell 73, Andrew and Stuart Douglas, and England striker turned broadcaster Gary Lineker’s Goalhanger Films.

FIFA claims this makes it the first sports federation to offer such an extensive streaming service, with the organization’s President Gianni Infantino saying it represents “a cultural shift in the way different types of football fans want to connect with and explore the global game”.

The service launches today in five languages, with an additional six following in June. At launch, it’ll be available on web and cellular devices, with other connected devices following.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the highest governing body of international soccer, has launched digital platform FIFA Plus with plans to stream 40,000 live games per year.

The games will be from 100 FIFA member associations and will include 11,000 women’s matches. Live coverage will range from Europe’s topflight leagues to previously unserved competitions from around the world in men’s, women’s and youth football. From launch, 1,400 matches will be live streamed monthly on FIFA Plus, rising rapidly.

On Wednesday, the NBCUniversal streaming service launched a dedicated pop-up channel with one year to go before the rescheduled start of the Tokyo Games.
