It is almost impossible to think of Dancing With The Stars without thinking of longtime pro Val Chmerkovskiy, with his whole entire family looped into the show we know and love.

After all, his brother, Maks Chmerkovskiy, and his wife, Jenna Johnson, are – or should we say were? – also DWTS pros.

For those who are unfamiliar, Val has been a pro on Dancing With The Stars since Season 13 — only taking a break during Season 26 — and he has secured the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy on three separate occasions: During Season 20 with Rumer Willis, Season 23 with Laurie Hernandez, and Season 32 with Xochitl Gomez.

When failing to emerge victorious, the 38-year-old has placed in the top three on numerous occasions as well, with partners like Zendaya, Gabby Windey, Kelly Monaco, Janel Parrish, Ginger Zee, and more.

With a track record like this one, some may say he is the best of the best.

Now that Dancing With The Stars is in its off-season, Season 32 champion Val Chmerkovskiy feels excited about his latest project.

Val Chmerkovskiy had to experience some early humbling during his career on Dancing with the Stars.

The 38-year-old professional dancer is Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s brother and began appearing on the show in various capacities in Season 2.

Val officially joined ABC’s competition series as a pro dancer in 2011’s Season 13 alongside model Elisabetta Canalis.

However, he entered the competition thinking he was above the others and had an early exit that season.

It took him until his eighth season to finally succeed, as he and Rumer Willis won the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 20.

Since then, he’s won it twice more and said some early growing pains helped him develop into the professional he is on the show.

Dancing With the Stars sees one or two showmances season after season. However, Season 33 might have been the most talked about when it comes to romances between a professional dancer and their celebrity partner. Viewers watched and got confused about the on-again, off-again relationship between pro Gleb Savchenko and model Brooks Nader, and the possible romantic pairing that was Sasha Farber and Jenn Tran, that still remains a mystery as of this writing.

There's no doubt that chemistry is a must when it comes to getting far on DWTS. And, that intense chemistry has sometimes resulted in some couples becoming more than just dance partners. However, for pro Val Chmerkovskiy, seeing a pro and their celeb partner develop something more is "incredibly unprofessional" in his eyes, especially if it isn't "authentic."

Jenna Johnson celebrated her latest Dancing with the Stars victory with an iconic Wicked dance, which dazzled fans and received attention from the blockbuster movie.

Jenna recently claimed the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy alongside The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei, as they finished ahead of runner-up pair Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten.
