Whilst the average cinema-goer is no doubt aware of his name, the typical movie buff is most likely familiar with some of Danny Boyle‘s work. His most successful film is Slumdog Millionaire, but he’s also done various other films in the past, including Trainspotting, Sunshine and 127 Hours. He’s not the most prolific of directors, but when he makes a film it is certainly worthy of attention.
This brings us to the recent Trance trailer. Trance, of course, is the latest film by Danny Boyle. Straight away, there are various themes and similarities that make this instantly recognizable as a ‘Boyle movie’. It can easily be argued that all of Boyle’s films have had a strong human and emotional theme. Whilst the likes of Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting are prime examples, even Sunshine focuses on the human and emotional aspects of a more unusual situation; the same goes for 127 Hours.

We’ve got just over a week to wait for Danny Boyle’s Trance, and all that we’ve seen so far has our interest piqued for the psychological crime-thriller.
James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel, and Rosario Dawson take the lead here, making up an impressive leading trio. And after catching the first TV spot, MSN have debuted a new featurette, taking us behind the scenes of Boyle’s return behind the camera.
A fine art auctioneer mixed up with a gang joins forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. As boundaries between desire, reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur the stakes rise faster than anyone could have anticipated.
Starring alongside McAvoy, Cassel, and Dawson will be Tuppence Middleton, Danny Sapani, Lee Nicholas Harris, and Wahab Sheikh.
Boyle is directing from a script co-written by Joe Ahearne (Apparitions) and John Hodge (Trainspotting), partly inspired by Ahearne’s 2001 TV movie of the same name.

Danny Boyle’s Trance is pretty much guaranteed to be awesome, and earns its place and then some amongst our must-see movies of the month.
The psychological crime-thriller stars James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel, and Rosario Dawson as the leading trio, and that’s definitely a cast we’re looking forward to seeing.
The latest red-band trailer debuted last month, giving us a brilliant new look at the film. And now Fox have released the first slightly more work-friendly TV spot ahead of its release in the Us in a few weeks’ time.

James McAvoy is a master thief in Danny Boyle’s “Trance”, a remake of a British movie that I don’t think anyone outside of the UK has seen. You won’t be able to say that about this version of “Trance”, though, not with Boyle’s name attached. After all, this guy made the movie about the fella who cut off his own arm after getting it stuck in a bolder watchable. Dude’s talented. Check out the clip for yourself below. Try not to use what you’ve learned here to pull off an actual robbery, though. Danny Boyle won’t be there to help you with slick camerawork and whatnot. Danny Boyle’s Trance is fast becoming one of the spring’s most anticipated movies. Somehow a movie called “Trance” about a criminal who gets put into hypnosis in order to recover some criminal-inclined memory and Danny Boyle just seems to go together like peanut butter and jelly. Check out the first trailer for the “Slumdog Millionaire” director’s latest, “Trance”, based on a British TV movie of the same name. Though I doubt if the original movie had this much visual and musical pizazz. I could be wrong, of course. Apparently getting James McAvoy to remember some hidden memories includes sleeping around with Rosario Dawson, who is playing the hypnotherapist. Danny Boyle’s Trance is a film we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. The writer-director boarded the project back in May last year, following on from the Oscar-nominated 127 Hours.
Since then, Boyle has been involved with a staged production of Frankenstein, as well as directing the Opening Ceremony to this summer’s Olympics.
But with both now firmly behind him, we have Trance back in centre position. The release date has recently been set for March 2013 here in the UK, and now USA Today have given us the first images from the film.

Danny Boyle’s visually inclined film “Trance” is a crime drama starring Rosario Dawson and James McAvoy, as well as a menacing Vincent Cassel. This is apparently Boyle’s first film where a woman is his main lead, and he calls it an “emotionally charged” noir film. Plus, it’ll probably look really, really cool with a great soundtrack. Get your first official looks at the film below, including a behind-the-scenes shot with the Boylester himself doing what he does. The film is a remake of a 2001 British movie of the same name by writer/director Joe Ahearne. That one co-starred Susannah Harker of “Ultraviolet” fame.
