Andrew Pierson Joins the Cast of ‘Trash’s Revenge’ as Ruthless Visionary Nathan Virel
Image
The Return of the Living Dead universe mutates once again—and this time, it’s not just the dead you should fear. Andrew Pierson, a powerhouse actor with over 160 IMDb film credits, has joined the cast of Trash’s Revenge as Nathan Virel—a dangerous futurist with the influence of Elon Musk and the moral compass of a loaded weapon.

Known for his versatility and relentless work ethic, Pierson brings depth and danger to the role of Virel, a man who sees the apocalypse not as an ending—but as a hostile takeover.

Fresh off being cast as William Spanner in Witchcraft Xvii, the newest entry in the longest-running horror franchise in film history, and as Sgt. Barney Griffith in the upcoming psychological war horror A Soldier’s Descent, Pierson is cementing his status as one of indie horror’s most unstoppable forces.

He joins returning legends Thomas Matthews and Beverly Randolph,...

Is Dexter: Original Sin Getting a Season 2?
Image
This article discusses death by suicide.

As far as prequel series go, Dexter: Original Sin did a fine job of bringing the origin story of Dexter Morgan from Dexter to life. This, most notably, included the building of The Code with his father Harry which shaped Dexter’s vigilante killer mentality for the rest of his life. The series marks the second spin-off in the franchise following Dexter: New Blood, which continued the story years after Dexter left off. The next in sequence will be Dexter: Resurrection, coming this summer.

As a prequel, Dexter: Original Sin features an entirely new cast of actors playing younger versions of characters from the original, along with new characters. In some cases, there are new actors playing characters seen only in flashbacks in Dexter. Now that the first season has ended, however, fans are eager to learn if it will be coming back for a second.

How Harry Morgan Dies In Dexter & When It Will Happen In Original Sin
Image
Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Dexter: Original Sin season 1, episode 6!

This article contains mentions of suicide.

Harry Morgan’s death is an inevitable tragedy coming up in Dexter: Original Sin, but the show has to be strategic about depicting the truth of his demise and when it exactly will occur within the prequel’s timeline. Ultimately, the idea that Christian Slater’s Harry Morgan will die in Dexter: Original Sin should come as no surprise. Harry was already long dead when Dexter’s main series began, and the titular character’s voiceover in the prequel’s premiere even gave an estimate for when Harry’s death would occur within Dexter: Original Sin’s timeline.

As a prequel, some of the biggest twists and tragedies that will happen in Original Sin will already be known due to their revelations in Dexter. However, seeing them unfold in real...

10 Best Character Duos in Dexter (& Why Fans Love Them)
Image
Dexter introduced many fascinating characters over the years. However, due to the series' main character being a serial killer, not a lot of characters get to survive the show. Some relationships are also relatively short-lived to maintain balance and order in Dexter's challenging story arc. Over the course of eight seasons, the series featured many interesting duos.

For example, Lundy and Deb were soulmates at work. Not only did they finish each other's sentences, but they also broke otherwise impossible cases together. Dexter and his brother Brian, on the other hand, were two serial killers in a long-distance relationship, finding solace in each other's company. The series should've kept many of these dynamic duos for the long run.

Dexter: Original Sin Is Still Missing A Major Character Who Was In 7 Seasons Of The Original Show
Image
Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Dexter: Original Sin season 1, episode 5!While there are plenty of familiar faces at Miami Metro in Dexter: Original Sin, some figures from the original series have surprisingly been left out, creating some timeline inconsistencies. The majority of Dexter: Original Sin’s cast of characters is made up of younger versions of figures from the main Dexter series, which include names like Dexter, Harry, and Deb Morgan, Angel Batista, Vince Masuka, and Maria Laguerta. Since Original Sin’s timeline kicks off in 1991, the prequel highlights some fascinating ways that Miami Metro transforms in the 15 years before Dexter’s series premiere, such as with personnel and procedures.

Miami Metro looks very similar to what it did when Dexter season 1 picked up, but Original Sin still doesn’t have all the major players from that era working with the department yet. For instance, James...

American Fiction (Cord Jefferson)

Thelonious “Monk” Ellison is in a rut. He’s still trying to get a publisher to accept his latest book in a market that doesn’t exactly embrace his erudite style. His gig as a college professor lecturing to students that are too “goddamn delicate” to embrace thorny topics of race has him ostracized from colleagues. He’s estranged from family, all of whom are juggling their own issues––health problems, divorce, the financial strain that comes with both. When Monk concocts an elaborate joke to get more fame and acceptance, it’s taken shocking seriously, setting off a series of misadventures exploring how white America is more willing to accept the most reductive, pandering stories of Black...

Official Trailer for Writer Thriller 'Ghostwritten' Starring Jay Duplass
Image
"How valuable can a story be – as an alternative to truth?" Cranked Up Films has revealed a trailer for an indie psychological thriller titled Ghostwritten, from filmmaker Thomas Matthews. This has been finished up for years now, but it only premiered at a few film festivals last year. Finally ready for a VOD release this February. Thomas Matthews' Ghost-Written (aka Ghostwritten), follows a one-hit novelist who is out of his depth on a winter residency, and perhaps losing grip on reality... "From a bird's eye view it's funny and up close it's tragic. Maybe unconsciously we were shooting for that - as it pertains to our movie... I thought the audience would have the best time if they came in thinking about nostalgia, ego and solving a puzzle without getting too serious." Jay Duplass stars as Guy Laury, with Maria Dizzia, Kate Lyn Shiel, and Thomas Jay Ryan. This looks like smart,...
