The story of Aladdin is an ancient and often retold one, with everyone from Disney to The Asylum getting in on the act. Now, former Lucasfilm concept artist turned filmmaker Matt Busch has given us Aladdin 3477- I: The Jinn of Wisdom, the first in a trilogy of films that set the story in a dystopian future where, much like in Shadowrun, magic and advanced technology coexist.
It’s the year 3472, and Harshad (Tony Miello) and Pradeep (Irfan Shiekh) venture to Angkor Watt to consult the robotic seer Darshana Shailaja, voiced by Lin Zy, about the whereabouts of the lamp containing The Jinn of Wisdom. They locate it, but things don’t go as planned.

"We're better than this... we belong up there!" Buffalo 8 has unveiled a new official trailer for the indie sci-fi fantasy project called Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom, the first film in a planned trilogy of futuristic Aladdin movies. It's now set for a VOD release in January 2025 if anyone is curious. Director Matt Busch explains the concept: "The Aladdin 3477 storyline is much different than the Disney animated version most are familiar with. Stemming from the roots of the original story, this live-action take is darker in tone... Here you'll find no singing and no blue genie doing crazy comedy impressions. The story of Aladdin is well-known to cinephiles thanks to Disney’s animated film chronicling the story of the young thief, as well as its not-as-successful live-action adaptation. The movie we are talking about is Aladdin 3477: The Jinn of Wisdom, which is going to be Matt Busch’s second feature once it arrives in January 2025. At this moment, we are happy to...
