Does Hunter Doohan's Adam Desiato Die In Your Honor?
Image
This post contains spoilers for "Your Honor."

"Your Honor" wasn't quite the hit that star Bryan Cranston's previous drama series, "Breaking Bad," was. But when your drama series is on Showtime (now Paramount+ with Showtime), it's at somewhat of a disadvantage in terms of its reach — which is why the excellent, savage satire that was "The Curse" never got the support it deserved. Luckily, after the series wrapped up in 2023, "Your Honor" got a Netflix boost when it hit the streamer back in July 2024, making it a much more widely-viewed show than it ever was before.

That's a good thing, too. As widowed New Orleans judge Michael Desiato, Cranston was characteristically brilliant, delivering an arresting performance that demanded a lot from the actor as he rendered the Judge's transformation from morally upstanding citizen to compromised criminal. After his own son, Adam (Hunter Doohan), admits to killing a young man...

3 New Fear Street Movies Are In Development, Says Goosebumps Author R.L. Stine
Image
Following the success of the original trilogy of movies, R.L. Stine says the Fear Street franchise's future is looking bright. Based on Stine's young adult horror series of the same name, the original trilogy of movies centered on a group of teens in the small town of Shadyside who inadvertently become the target of a curse that has plagued the city for centuries, with each movie being set in a different era. Originally set at Fox before Disney's acquisition of them, the Fear Street trilogy earned widespread acclaim after jumping to Netflix, with a fourth movie entering development in late 2023.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss the upcoming release of Goosebumps: The Vanishing, the second season of the Disney+ show based on his other iconic horror book franchise, Stine was asked about the Fear Street movie series. The author revealed that there are in fact three new...

Why Fia Baxter Gave Up Her Baby In The Your Honor Season 2 Ending
Image
Spoilers for Your Honor for seasons 1 and 2 ahead.

Fia Baxter (Lilli Kay) becomes a critical character in Your Honor season 2 and when she gives up her baby, it marks a critical moment in her relationship with her family and her past. Sofia "Fia" Baxter is the only daughter of crime lord Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg), and his wife Gina (Hope Davis). In season 1, Fia becomes Adam Desiato's (Hunter Doohan) girlfriend, though she is unaware that Adam was the one who killed her brother. Fia is a sweet and kind character, in contrast to her more hot-headed older brother, Carlo (Jimi Stanton).

Adam and Fia's romance lasts until Adam is accidentally shot in the season 1 finale, but their relationship lives on as revealed in Your Honor season 2, episode 1. At the end of the episode, it's shown that Fia has a newborn, and there's only one person who could be the father: Adam.

Your Honor Season 3 Chances Get Cautious Update After Immediate Streaming Success On Netflix
Image
CBS Studios President David Stapf was asked if Your Honor season 3 was a possibility after the show's 2024 streaming success. Stapf said they want the show to continue, but it's too soon to tell. The continuation of the show would depend on the availability of the cast, which could prevent it from happening.

Your Honor season 3 has gotten a positive update. The show, which premiered on Showtime in 2020, starred Bryan Cranston as Michael Desiato, a New Orleans judge who takes a huge career risk in an attempt to save his son after learning that his hit-and-run victim was connected to a major crime family. Your Honor season 3 never came to fruition as the show was cancelled in 2022, several months prior to the season 2 premiere. However, between Paramount+ and Netflix, it became a major streaming hit in June 2024, with billions of minutes streamed between both seasons.

Deadline recently sat down with David Stapf,...

10 Movie Trilogies Where The First Movie Is The Worst
Image
While many movie trilogies get worse, some only improve as they go. Many of these trilogies don't have stereotypically "bad" films just weaker installments. Some trilogies are also linked thematically, rather than progressing traditionally.

While there are many examples of promising movie trilogies that get weaker as the series progresses, it can be harder to think of examples where the reverse is true. The brutal nature of the movie industry often means that films that fail often don't get followed up, with potential franchises left unfulfilled. However, this isn't always the case.

In fact, throughout film history, there are examples of series that noticeably improve after the first chapter. In some cases, it's not that the first installment was particularly bad just that subsequent movies manage to refine the formula and enhance the overall story. In others, later movies expand upon what was a promising idea, ironing out the kinks that were initially evident.

Netflix's New Fear Street Movie Will Bring The Horror Franchise To The '80s
Image
Netflix's shadiest horror franchise is targeting its next set of victims. The slasher series "Fear Street" debuted back in 2021 as three full-length movies set in the fictional but aptly-named town of Shadyside, based on author R.L. Stine's popular "Cheerleaders" sub-trilogy within the "Fear Street" novels. The mega-sized special event was released over the course of three consecutive weeks on the streaming service (check out /Film's spoiler review of the movies here), pulled in a ton of viewers, earned consistently high praise among critics, and served up all sorts of gory kills and supernatural chills -- along with one heck of a memorable kill by a particularly deadly bread slicer. Fans have been clamoring for more sequels ever since and rumors of new movies have swirled since at least 2022, but now we've heard straight from the studio that another release has officially been greenlit.

After all three previous movies...

Netflix executive Scott Stuber announced the development of a standalone Fear Street movie, based on R.L. Stine’s coming-of-age horror novel series.

More than two years after the successful debut of its Fear Street trilogy, Netflix finally provided a brand-new update regarding the current status of its horror film franchise. Speaking with Collider, Stuber confirmed that they’re currently developing the script for the next installment, which he described as a standalone story. "There’s one standalone that we’re working on right now that we’re once again trying to get the script right, but I like it very much, and so does the team," he said. Your Honor season two review: Bryan Cranston is excellent as a grieving father
Image
There are a lot of befores and afters in television history. Before and after colour transmission, for example, or before and after live broadcasts. And then there are the shows that catalyse great changes: before and after Seinfeld, before and after The Sopranos, before and after Breaking Bad. It’s the last of these that we are still feeling the ripples from: whether it’s Ozark or Happy Valley, TV drama is currently dominated by men thrown in at the deep end, struggling for their lives. And there is no show that takes this more seriously than the Bryan Cranston-led Your Honor.

As the second series opens, Adam Desiato’s death is still raw. His father, Michael (Bryan Cranston), has been impeached and seems to have taken the Unabomber as his grooming icon. He is approached by ambitious agent Olivia (Rosie Perez) who has the Baxter dynasty in her sights.
