Nancy Drew Season 4 Will Be CW Show's Last, Won't Return For Season 5
Image
The upcoming Nancy Drew season 4 will officially be the mystery series' last. Based on the famed series of novels, the CW Network’s Nancy Drew television series debuted in 2019 and saw Kennedy McMann taking on the role of the iconic young detective. The dynamic show also saw re-imagined versions of book characters such as Ace (Alex Saxon), George Fan (Leah Lewis), Bess Marvin (Maddison Jaizani), and Ned Nickerson (Tunji Kasim), plus the introductions of a small handful of new characters that were created for the series.

Although Nancy Drew season 1 was met with rocky criticism and mixed reviews, the CW series quickly grew a passionate fan following thanks to its elaborately plotted mysteries combined with Stephen King-esque ghosts and an overall darker edge that had never-before been explored in the Nancy Drew franchise. Following its second and third seasons, The CW Network confirmed that season 4 of the hit mystery...

Riley Smith, Leah Lewis, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon, Maddison Jaizani, and Kennedy McMann in Nancy Drew (2019)
Even “Nancy Drew” actress Kennedy McMann can’t avoid the wrath of office equipment.

In a sneak peek at the gag reel for the Season 3 DVD and Blu-ray release, which is out May 10, McCann battles the machine in a frustrating moment we can all relate to.

Season 3 of The CW show picks up a week after the Season 2 finale that saw Nancy’s mystical relative Temperance Hudson return to Horseshoe Bay with a dark agenda. Nancy’s hopes of leaving her hometown for college will be derailed by this mysterious nemesis, and her fate will become entwined with that of her greatest foe yet, per a logline.

The third season sees the teen detective investigating a series of grisly murders that seem to be sending a message to Nancy herself. The Drew Crew will team up with Nancy while also grappling with their own challenges — “Ned ‘Nick’ Nickerson (Tunji Kasim...

Riley Smith, Leah Lewis, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon, Maddison Jaizani, and Kennedy McMann in Nancy Drew (2019)
How Nancy Drew’s Narrative Agility Sets the Show Apart
Riley Smith, Leah Lewis, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon, Maddison Jaizani, and Kennedy McMann in Nancy Drew (2019)
Nancy Drew has always been a show that is constantly recalibrating its storytelling, whether that means tinkering with its supporting characters during its first season until the ensemble dynamics feel just right or remapping the arc of its second in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that drastically altered its episode count.

Season 2 manages to not only seamlessly incorporate the threads of the previous season’s unfinished narratives but tie them firmly into the larger drama of Nancy’s quest to solve the mystery of her own identity. Yes, it did so by way of a dementor-esque monster that secretly hitches a ride onto Nancy’s body for the entire rest of the season in order to feed off her various emotional traumas, but that’s generally just the way this show rolls.

This is hardly the first time Nancy Drew has course-corrected or changed things up mid-stream in the...

The CW's Nancy Drew: Grade It!
Nancy Drew may be one of pop culture’s best-known detectives, but she isn’t exactly in a sleuthing mood atop the premiere of her new CW series. “I don’t go searching in the dark anymore — not after the darkness found me,” she explains, alluding to the one mystery no one was able to crack: a way to stop her mother from dying of cancer.

Magic 2015 Now Available For Xbox 360, Steam, Android And Kindle
Some annual traditions are more exciting than others: the World Series is usually more exciting than the yearly visit to Grandma’s, taking a pet to the vet is trumped by Fourth of July fireworks fights, and the release of the newest installment of Duels of the Planeswalkers is much more enticing than Arbor Day. After last week’s release of the iPad edition of the game, fans can finally get to work on Magic 2015 on Xbox 360, Steam, Android and Kindle.

At this point in time, no release date has been announced for a PlayStation 3 or 4 edition of the game, and the Xbox One version will be available “later this summer.” No reason for their absence has been given by Wizards of the Coast, but chances are if you’re interested at all in the game, you’re the type of person who has at least one of the devices mentioned above.
