Maria Bello is getting a divorce from wife Dominique Crenn after one year of marriage.

TMZ reports that the 58-year-old Coyote Ugly actress filed for divorce from the 60-year-old celebrity chef on Wednesday (May 28).

The date of separation is listed as April 7 and she listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

Maria and Dominique got engaged in December 2019 and then tied the knot in May 2024 in a romantic wedding in Mexico. There were plenty of celebs – including Patricia Arquette, Mariska Hargitay, and Gavin Rossdale – in attendance at the wedding.

The divorce documents note that Maria wants “orders for spousal support are to be determined by a written agreement of the parties.”

Maria shares her son Jackson with former boyfriend Dan McDermott, but she doesn’t have children with Dominique.

Ever since Netflix announced it would be opening a Los Angeles pop-up restaurant, the jokes have been flying on social media. San Francisco, June 22 (Ians) In a significant decision, the US Department of Agriculture (Usda) has approved the sale of cultivated or lab-grown chicken in the country.

Good Meat, the cultivated meat division of food technology company Eat Just, announced that it has received approval from the Usda for its first poultry product, cultivated chicken, to enter interstate commerce.

This landmark clearance means the firm’s chicken, which is made directly from animal cells, can now be sold to American consumers.

“This announcement that we’re now able to produce and sell cultivated meat in the US is a major moment for our company, the industry and the food system,” said Josh Tetrick, co-founder and CEO of Good Meat and Eat Just.

Netflix is going to put that to the test, as it expands into an entirely new category: the restaurant business.

Netflix will launch a pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles on June 30. Called Netflix Bites, the food concept will be built around an “elevated dining experience” featuring chefs featured in various Netflix shows.

Among the chefs participating are Curtis Stone, Ming Tsai and Andrew Zimmern of Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend; Dominique Crenn of Chef’s Table and Iron Chef; Rodney Scott and Ann Kim of Chef’s Table; Nadiya Hussain of Nadiya Bakes; and Jacques Torres of Nailed It! There will also be cocktails designed by the mixologists from Drink Masters.

Mark Mylod's "The Menu" is one dark, deeply twisted take on the fine dining experience, and an important part of bringing that world to life was creating the food within it. The film has several technically-detailed cooking sequences that show Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) and his team preparing meals for their exclusive guests -- but nothing is as mouth-wateringly perfect as his final preparation of a cheeseburger for unexpected diner Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy). The cheeseburger represents so much more than a pair of beef patties, some diced onions, and a couple of slices of American cheese, yet there's no denying it's a gorgeous piece of gastronomy.

Is it a spoiler to reveal that one of the crucial plot points from “The Menu” revolves around a juicy cheeseburger? Sure, the hit satire that recently landed on HBO Max is largely about a hugely pretentious tasting menu restaurant situated on a lonely island and overseen by a mercurial chef played by Ralph Fiennes.

There's nothing more annoying than going on a first date and having your dining partner for the night continually mock and belittle the things you are personally passionate about. It's almost as if they flat-out refuse to try and connect with you from across the table, which is the very thing they supposedly agreed to attempt when they decided to go out with you in the first place. In "The Menu," that situation is completely reversed. Anya Taylor-Joy plays the joyfully disenfranchised Margot (probably not her real name) whose disinterest in the finer things in life -- and, by association, her insufferable food-obsessed dinner date Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) -- makes her undeniably cool. 

Tyler's efforts to impress Margot by taking her to a remote fine dining experience catered by the legendary Chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) are completely ignored, as is the delectable amuse-bouche they receive on the boat ride over to the exclusive Hawthorne restaurant.

Following in the class-conscious footsteps of horror comedy films like "Ready or Not" and "The Hunt," "The Menu" serves its viewers a deliciously deranged takedown of society's elite members. Centered around an exclusive dining experience on a private island, Chef Julian (Ralph Fiennes) has decided his craft (and life) will no longer be ruled by the demanding whims of wealthy people. With each course, Julian's remaining grip on reality and sanity loosens. By the film's end, he and his burnt-out crew literally go up in flames, damning his impossible-to-please clientele along the way. Director Mark Mylod crafts an impeccably paced film — something the fictional Julian would appreciate — that dials up its tension through each foreboding frame.

Pairing "The Menu" with other horror films about food is an unenviable task. No horror comedy movie balances its thrills, dark humor, and food design as well as Mylod's work.

The renowned chef behind San Francisco’s Atelier Crenn was sent the screenplay for Mark Mylod’s film when the production was looking for a consultant who could help them nail the creation of Hawthorn, the film’s remote fine-dining restaurant where guests pay 1,250 a head.

Crenn, the only female chef in the United States with three Michelin stars, helped the filmmakers bring to life the dishes as described in the script as authentically as possible, while also making tweaks that would be accurate to the story’s setting of an island in the Pacific Northwest. During filming of “The Menu,” food stylist Kendall Gensler occasionally found herself on foam duty. “The foams were, of course, very difficult, because they just die so quickly,” she told IndieWire. “We would foam, they would shoot, die, and then we’d re-foam again.” Gensler would be stage left with a huge bin of sauce and an immersion blender to create new foam for the next take. Everything I've seen so far regarding Mark Mylod's dark comedy has only intrigued me further as to what the mystery behind the delicious madness could be.

One of the film's main selling points is its stellar ensemble, with names like Hong Chau ("The Whale"), Ralph Fiennes ("The King's Man"), Nicholas Hoult ('Warm Bodies"), John Leguizamo ("Violent Night"), Judith Light ("Julia"), Janet McTeer ("Ozark") and Anya Taylor-Joy ("The Northman"). Last month, Searchlight Pictures unveiled two posters for their darkly comedic psychological thriller The Menu, which is set to reach theatres on November 18th. One of the posters focused on the character played by Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) and the other focused on the character played by Ralph Fiennes (No Time to Die). Now a new poster for The Menu has arrived online, and this one features both Taylor-Joy and Fiennes, as well as Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road) and several other cast members. In his Toronto International Film Festival premiere “The Menu,” Ralph Fiennes plays Slowik, a celebrity chef who runs an exclusive restaurant that caters to the ultra-rich. And while the darkly comic horror film eventually reveals some macabre twists regarding what’s on Slowik’s menu, Fiennes says he got into the character via more mundane inspirations.

“One of the great pleasures was watching ‘Chef’s Table’ on Netflix” Fiennes said at the Variety Studio presented by King’s Hawaiian at TIFF, referring to the documentary series about international chefs. “I love that series, every single character, every single chef is so brilliantly portrayed. They’re all so different. So that was very rewarding.”

You’ve been journeying through Africa for half your life. What keeps drawing you back?

The continent offers itself up to your imagination. I’m so excited about what’s going on there. It’s quite the stereotype that all of Africa is one big safari, but it’s not. There are thriving, beautiful cities and people lump them all into one, “Oh, it’s Africa.” But it’s not, it’s so diverse, with so many distinct cultures and food and music.

Just like “Iron Chef,” Alton Brown is synonymous with Food Network. But now, both the beloved show and the celebrity chef have moved to Netflix for a new version of the competition series that will be co-hosted by Brown.

With Netflix’s “Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend,” which premiered this week, Brown has officially departed from his long tenure at Food Network, where he was a staple for 21 years.

Brown first joined Food Network in the late ’90s, and was the host and creator of “Good Eats,” as well as the host of “Iron Chef America,” “Cutthroat Kitchen” and a slew of other series at Food Network and the Cooking Channel.

Peacock released the trailer for Season 2 of “Rutherford Falls,” which premieres all eight of its episodes on June 16. From co-creators Sierra Teller Ornelas, Michael Schur and Ed Helms, the series follows best friends Nathan Rutherford (Helms) and Reagan Wells (Jana Schmieding) as they tackle their careers, love lives and big changes to their small town and the Native American reservation it borders, brought on by casino executive Terry Thomas (Michael Greyeyes).

Ornelas said in a statement, “Ed Helms, Mike Schur, and I had an absolute blast making a show that’s heartfelt, laugh-out-loud funny, and depicts Native Americans in ways you never see on television. Also, a lot of people get punched/kicked in the face. We hope you enjoy Season 2.”

Things are heating up in the “Iron Chef” kitchen.

Netflix announced Wednesday that the latest series in the cooking franchise, “Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend” will debut June 15.

The series will see five new Iron Chefs welcome their Challengers to the reimagined Kitchen Stadium, where they’ll face off and be pushed to the limits of endurance and creativity, as they cook up extraordinary culinary creations. The competition’s most successful Challenger will return to battle in a grand finale for the chance to be named the first-ever “Iron Legend.”

A trailer for the upcoming series, which you can watch above, promises plenty of innovation and exploding flavors in the recipes that each chef will whip up.

An untitled documentary about Grammy-winning artist Lizzo is coming to HBO Max this fall, she announced at the Warner Bros. Discovery upfront on Wednesday, while unveiling the first teaser of the film. The doc will follow the singer, songwriter, rapper, flutist and actor from her humble beginnings to her history-making career in music and culture, as she balances the challenges of stardom.

MTV is reaching for something in the distance: a new iteration of The Hills.

The network has ordered The Hills: Next Gen (working title), featuring a new and more diverse cast of twentysomething friends and aspiring entrepreneurs who are coming of age in a very different Los Angeles, our sister site Deadline reports. The series will explore “race, class, identity, addiction, family drama along with the thrills of romance and becoming self-made amidst the exclusive enclave of the hills in Malibu.”
