The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 gets a teaser trailer and release date
Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead (2010)
The Walking Dead spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (you can read our review of the first season Here) has just revealed that the much-anticipated third season premieres Sunday, September 7th on AMC and AMC+.

The previous two seasons followed Daryl as he washed up, mysteriously, on the shores of France. He was eventually joined by his regular Walking Dead co-star Melissa McBride, who returned as fan favourite Carol. Season three takes our two heroes to Spain as they continue to fight the dead throughout Europe.

Recently, Reedus appeared in Len Wiseman’s John Wick spinoff, Ballerina. Check out this interview clip where he compared the polished action he had to try in that movie to his more rough-and-tumble antics on The Walking Dead.

In addition to Reedus, McBride, and Charrier, the show’s cast includes Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi, Eriq Ebouaney, and Manish Dayal.

During a recent interview with THR, Zabel explained that changing Daryl Dixon Season 3s location was necessary in order to give them the opportunity to reinvent The Walking Dead spinoff. He also teased that the shows location will continue to change in future seasons. "The characters should not settle down. It should be a road show. They have to keep moving [to return home]," Zabel said. "At the end of Season 2, theyre going somewhere. We dont know exactly where, and its not a direct line to the next place they go. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Finale Review - Neat Ending Gives Season 3 A Clean Slate
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 finale. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol has been a mostly solid follow-up to the first season, albeit with a story thats more contrived and at times messy. Season 2 does a lot in six episodes, leading to the overall flow feeling a bit rushed. The big moments, like the reunion of Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus), do land with the emotional weight that such scenes deserve. This is thanks in large part to the performances of McBride and Reedus, who, along with a strong supporting cast, elevate their scenes even when the story stumbles.

Review: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon finale ties up France's story but leaves emotional threads hanging
Image
In the pre-season promotion for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol, Norman Reedus repeatedly said he believed the finale was the best hour of The Walking Dead that had ever been made. Inevitably, it isn’t, but it’s a shame because while it cannot compete with the likes of "The Grove "or "Terminus," it’s not a bad episode. “Au Revoir Les Enfant” (Goodbye Children) gives us some vastly needed closure and the promise of a better future.

Much of the first half of the episode takes place at the racetrack where Daryl and Carol (Melissa McBride) are deciding who will go on Ash’s (Manish Dayal) plane back to the US with Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). As with so much of this season, Daryl’s motivations for offering to stay behind remain muddy. Is he offering to stay behind out of nobility, or does...

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 5 Review - The Show Suffers From Rushed Storytelling
Image
Warning! Spoilers ahead for Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 5.

Last weeks episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol was a high point for the season. Though there was the tragedy of Isabelles (Clmence Posy) death, it was nicely counterbalanced by the reunion of Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride), plus some great action at both the Nest and later on in a charming French village. Genet (Anne Charrier) was also killed off and too soon, though she at least died in spectacular fashion. Episode 4 set a high bar, but sadly, episode 5, Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir, doesnt come close to matching it.

Review: Daryl Dixon fights for Laurent's future in the penultimate episode of his Walking Dead show
Image
“Looks like the future,” Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) says to Daryl (Norman Reedus) as they drive through Paris in the latest episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol, "Vouloir, C'est Pouvoir." After the high emotions and climaxes of Episode 4, we spend much of this episode thinking about the future for the characters who have survived the cull so far.

Having lost the majority of the female cast in the previous two episodes, we return to the surviving menfolk. Codron (Romain Levi), it appears, has survived the war at the Nest and makes his way to Fallou’s (Eriq Ebouaney) camp for refuge, recovery and reparation. Romain Levi conveys a great deal of heart and depth in his performance, which works wonderfully with Laurent’s blank-slate openness, as the pair connect through their shared guilt and faith. Their scenes together are oddly touching, and actually create a...

In the latest episode of Daryl Dixon Season 2, after helping Carol reunite with Daryl, fan-favorite character Isabelle, portrayed by Harry Potter alum Clmence Posy, was surprisingly killed by Losang, which ended her brewing romance with the titular hero. As she died in the arms of Daryl, Isabelle made him promise that he would look after Laurent for her. Norman Reedus Opens Up on Daryl & Carol Reunion in Daryl Dixon Season 2
Image
The following contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, Episode 4, "La Paradis Pour Toi," which premiered Sunday, Oct. 20 on AMC.

Norman Reedus recently confirmed that Carol and Daryl will be reunited in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The actor also shared that their reunion will be well-earned when it happens in the show.

Speaking with Screen Rant at New York Comic Con 2024, Reedus revealed that he believed the reunion between Daryl and Carol was done "really well" in Daryl Dixon. "I think we got Daryl to a place, well, that would be the last thing on his mind, a place of true despair. He's lost everything. He's completely beaten, and he fights his way to finally seeing the only person in the world that he would want to see. So I think we set the tone for that, and I think it's unexpected," he explained. "I mean, I know it's going to happen,...

Daryl and Carol Finally Reunite in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
Image
With great reward comes great sacrifice. That is pretty much the mantra The Walking Dead has lived by through its many seasons to date in both the original series and all its spin-offs. Characters are forced to make difficult decisions. They come across new groups and must decide to trust them or not. They get close to people only to lose them. They lose, love, gain, and lose again. Every step in the right direction seemingly takes them two steps back. This formula has continued in the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

The second season called The Book of Carol is well underway, and in episode four titled La Paradis Pour Toi, the long-awaited reunion between Daryl (Norman Reedus) and his best friend Carol (Melissa McBride) finally happens. But their joy is short-lived because it also marks a tragic death.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon takes an emotional detour in its fourth episode
Image
“One thing’s for sure, we’re not in Ohio anymore,” Carol (Melissa McBride) says in “Le Paradis Pour Toi,” the fourth episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon — The Book of Carol. It feels like a timely Wizard of Oz reference, as Carol and Daryl (Norman Reedus) finally reunite in this episode, and the result feels like Dorothy moving from the black-and-white of Kansas to the full Technicolor of Oz. Their interactions bring a spark to the show that illustrates why fans like these two characters interacting, and why they were given a spinoff in the first place. Though the irony is, this shift appears to be the end of Daryl’s fairytale ride, not the start.

Genet’s (Anne Charrier) attack on the Nest has felt like a long time coming, and the episode’s opening action sequence as she unleashes her walkers and warfare on the...

Twd: Daryl Dixon Stars Reveal Season 2's Most Anticipated Scenes
Image
When The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon left off, Madame Marion Genet learned the truth about Stphane Codron's true loyalty... or so she thought. Codron left on an ambiguous note at the end of Season 1; he put aside his wish to avenge his brother by killing Daryl Dixon to save Laurent from his fellow Guerriers -- the soldiers fighting for Genet's dictatorial cause in France. As honorable as his change of heart was, it didn't do him any good when he admitted his act of treason to Genet.

Genet slips further into immorality to win the war in France, yet Season 2 of Daryl Dixon doesn't paint her as a complete villain. Genet is similar to the paintings she adores in the Louvre Museum -- she's more than meets the eye. People may find themselves sympathizing with her more than they expected when they learn of her past, and the incomparable...

Im Convinced The Walking Dead Fans Are Missing Good TV By Skipping the Spinoffs
Image
Quick Links Why Did People Stop Watching The Walking Dead? Why The Walking Dead Deserves Another Chance

The Walking Dead universe has expanded beyond all borders since its flagship series ended in 2022. New spinoffs like Daryl Dixon, Dead City, and The Ones Who Live take the franchise's most popular characters and throw them into new adventures that challenge the very premise of the fictional universe. At first, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the idea of The Walking Dead ending and spinning its most popular characters out into different series. However, the last few years have proven me wrong.

Long before the spinoffs aired, The Walking Dead began to struggle to keep its viewership base happy. While hardcore fans stuck around, the original series lost viewers in its last few seasons, becoming the quintessential show that everyone used to watch. Few of the viewers lost in these last few seasons have...
