Production Company Behind Rebel Wilson Movie Sues Star Amid Fallout Over Harassment Claims
Image
The production company behind Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut, The Deb, has stepped into the legal battle over the film’s release, accusing the actress of blocking a distribution deal with the intent of buying the rights to the musical herself.

In a lawsuit filed on Thursday in Australia, AI Film alleges a prospective distributor withdrew its offer after Wilson threatened to sue to prevent the movie from coming out. It claims breach of contract and seeks unspecified damages, as well as an apology and a court order preventing Wilson from continuing to make allegedly false statements about misconduct by the film’s producers.

Last year, Wilson said that she had reported the producers when she “found out not minor things, big things” related to “inappropriate behavior towards the lead actress of the film,” Charlotte MacInnes, and theft of movie funds. The producers, in turn, sued for defamation, saying that...

Rebel Wilson ‘Deliberately Undermined’ Her Own Film’s Release, New Lawsuit Claims
Image
Rebel Wilson is facing a new lawsuit over her embattled directorial debut, The Deb, with one of the production companies involved claiming she “deliberately undermined” the film’s release, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

The new suit filed in Australia was brought by AI films, a U.K.-based production company that owns the rights to The Deb alongside Wilson’s Camp Sugar. It’s the latest salvo in a legal battle that kicked off last summer when Wilson accused a group of producers on The Deb — Amanda Ghost,...

'Power' Universe Expanding with 'Power: Origins' on Starz
Image
Released back in 2014 on Starz, the crime thriller Power quickly became a fan favorite thanks to its gritty realism and mix of action and drama. Produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson (who also starred in the show), the series follows a legitimate businessperson who also rules a criminal enterprise, and it became so popular that it spawned an entire universe of spin-offs, including two sequels and one prequel. Now, the acclaimed series is set to expand once more with yet another prequel that will this time focus on two of the show's most beloved characters.

Per RadioTimes, Power: Origins is officially on the docket for Starz, with the prequel set to focus on Ghost and Tommy, portrayed in the original series by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora. There's no word yet on who will play the younger versions of the characters, but we do know that Mekai Curtis, who played Kanan...

Ghost Perform “Lachryma” on Fallon: Watch
Image
In the midst of their US arena tour, Ghost stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the song “Lachryma.”

The Swedish band appeared on the Wednesday (July 23rd) episode of the late-night show, running through the second single from its latest album, SKELETÁ.

Get Ghost Tickets Here

For the uninitiated, this was a convincing example of Ghost’s blend of heavy metal with melodic rock, featuring an airtight performance from the “Nameless Ghouls” — frontman Papa V Perpetua’s backing band. Papa himself (aka Tobias Forge) is also in fine singing form throughout the song, which was a solid choice for potentially garnering new fans, as it balances just enough metallic riffage with Ghost’s catchy Aor/pop rock tendencies.

The Fallon gig came a day after Ghost performed a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden just a hours after news of Ozzy Osbourne’s passing. Forge stopped...

New Ahsoka Season 2 Image Gives First Look At Ezra Bridger
Image
Our first glimpse of Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka season 2 was released at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Eman Esfandi's portrayal of Ezra Bridger was a highlight of Ahsoka season 1, as he was finally reunited with fellow Ghost Crew member Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano, following his heroic sacrifice to free his homeworld from the Empire's clutches in Star Wars Rebels.

Ezra returned to the main galaxy in Ahsoka season 1, and it seems he's now sporting a new look. Lucasfilm has shared a first image of Ezra from Ahsoka season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con, where ScreenRant is in attendance.

Esfandi can be seen wearing a dark blue jacket. He's shaved his beard, and his hair is a little tamer than it was in Ahsoka season 1. Overall, Ezra looks happy, healthy, and a little mischievous, reminiscent of his appearance in Star Wars Rebels seasons 1 and 2.

One thing is being noticed by viewers,...

Chris Hemsworth's Thor Will Reportedly Be The "Second Lead" Character In Avengers: Doomsday
Image
Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor for Avengers: Doomsday, and the actor recently shared a video titled "Thank You! The Legacy of Thor" video, prompting speculation that he might be preparing to hang up the hammer for good after the next big MCU event.

The video, which is actually years old, features clips, behind-the-scenes footage, and interview segments from Hemsworth's tenure as the McU's God of Thunder, and includes shots from the four solo Thor movies as well as Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

"Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life," Hemsworth wrote. "For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank...

Ironheart Star Sacha Baron Cohen Shows Off Amazing Body Transformation To Play McU's Ripped Mephisto
Image
Borat and The Trial of the Chicago 7 star Sacha Baron Cohen made his long-rumoured MCU debut as Mephisto in Marvel Studios' Ironheart earlier this month.

Cohen stole the show as the McU's devil, and there's already a huge amount of excitement surrounding his eventual return. Midnight Sons is an obvious next destination for Mephisto, though there's every chance he also shows up in Avengers: Doomsday, seeing as Ghost Rider is rumoured to appear in the movie.

The actor and comedian, who got his start as Ali G, is near-unrecognisable in a new cover story for Men's Fitness UK. According to Deadline, Cohen trained with Alfonso "The Angry Trainer" Moretti to get shredded and "The results came quickly, enough that Baron Cohen's Mephisto costume had to be altered a time or two to reflect the improvements in his physique."

There's already speculation that Mephisto could serve as the McU's next big bad,...

Avengers: Doomsday Star Alan Cumming Says He Got In Trouble For Revealing Movie's "Biggest Leak" - Spoilers
Image
Of all the actors announced during the massive Avengers: Doomsday's cast reveal live-stream earlier this year, Alan Cumming might have been the most surprising.

Cumming made his one and only appearance in 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise as Kurt Wagner, aka Nightcrawler, in X2, but declined the studio's offer to reprise the role for the third film because he had no interest in sitting through the arduous makeup process again. Wagner didn't show up in again until Kodi Smit-McPhee took over as a younger take on the character in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Cumming has been happy to chat about his return as Nightcrawler, and may have revealed a little too much about his Doomsday role in a recent interview.

"Right now, I'm doing it again. I'm playing Nightcrawler again and was learning stunts yesterday for some fight scene," said the actor. "I'm sort of learning these fights and I'm like,...

Warner Bros. Didn’t Bother to Call Tim Burton About Directing ‘Beetlejuice 3’
Image
Beetlejuice, the story of a pale gothy teen who’s terrorized by a pale gothy adult, just might just be the Tim Burton-iest thing that Tim Burton ever Tim Burton-ed into the world. So would Warner Bros. really make another movie about the “Ghost with the Most” without him?

For a long time, there was no sequel to Burton’s original 1988 blockbuster, with the exception of the beloved animated series and the Universal Studios stage show in which Beetlejuice belted out Kiss covers with the help of Frankenstein and the Wolf Man.

But last year, Burton reteamed with most members of theoriginal cast who weren’t convicted of horrific crimes for the sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. And it was a huge hit, making more than $450 million at the box office.

Given the movie’s financial success, another Beetlejuice sequel seemed almost inevitable. Plus, the title certainly suggested that a third...

Raekwon Chefs Up Some Raw Classic New York Rap On ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’

Hip-hop is no longer solely youth culture; it’s just culture, with cross-generational scenes full of artists intent on capturing their era’s zeitgeist. But Raekwon The Chef’s latest solo album, The Emperor’s New Clothes, was unquestionably tailored for the 35-and-up hip-hop heads who descended upon Madison Square Garden to see the Wu-Tang Clan’s possible final hometown show last week. ‘Power’ Franchise Expands With New Prequel Series Starring 2 Central Characters
Image
Starz is betting big again on its flagship crime drama franchise Power, and it's understandable why. Since the first installment aired on the network on June 7, 2014, it has become one of Starz's highest-rated shows and one of television's most-watched series. The network has officially greenlit Power: Origins, an 18-episode order for the series, which will follow the early lives of Power legends James “Ghost” St. Patrick and long-time partner Tommy Egan.

Created by Courtney A. Kemp and executive produced by 50 Cent, Power launched in 2014 and ran for six seasons, ending its original run in 2020. The series followed the double life of James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), a smooth-talking nightclub owner trying to go legit while deeply entangled in New York’s brutal drug underworld. While the original show set the initial coordinates, Power Book II: Ghost followed Ghost’s son, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), as he struggled with his...

Pantera, Primus, Ghost Pay Tribute to Ozzy During Their Respective Concerts: Watch
Image
A bevy of bands who are currently on tour paid tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne during their Tuesday (July 22nd) gigs, including some of his fellow rockers: Pantera, Primus, and Ghost.

Pantera have been covering Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan” for years, having famously included a studio version on 1994’s Far Beyond Driven. Their performance of the song on Tuesday night in Cincinnati was particularly somber and spine-chilling, however, as the band played an accompanying tribute video to Ozzy on the big screen, featuring pics from throughout late singer’s life.

As for Primus, the band didn’t have an immediate Sabbath/Ozzy song in their back pocket — although they famously covered Sabbath’s “N.I.B.” with Ozzy back in 2000 — but Les Claypool and company did sprinkle in bits and pieces throughout their set in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A tease of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” could be heard...

Superman | Test audiences originally rejected the squirrel
Image
A brief moment in Superman involving a squirrel was “hotly debated” and initially disliked by test audiences, but James Gunn kept it anyway.

Earlier this month, writer-director James Gunn introduced a more hopeful, unabashedly upbeat Superman – a marked contrast to the brooding Man of Steel seen in the Zack Snyder era. And one illustration of the new, sunnier Superman was a brief moment in which, in the middle of a wider action set-piece, the superhero rescues a squirrel.

As it turns out, the furry mammal was a point of contention both during production and later, when early cuts of Superman were shown to test audiences. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Gunn said that the save-the-squirrel scene was “probably the second- or third- most hotly debated moment in the movie.”

Given how out-there some of the ideas in Superman are, it’s a wonder what the other two debated moments were.

“We...

Breaking Bad Star's Disturbing Horror Remake Finds Life on Streaming 16 Years After Leaving Critics Disappointed
Image
The Last House on the Left has entered HBO's streaming charts, drawing new audiences to the 2009 horror remake. The film is not for the squeamish, but fans of violent, explicit revenge movies will find it cathartic.

2009's The Last House on the Left is HBO's tenth most-streamed movie as of Jul. 18, per FlixPatrol this week. A remake of Wes Craven's 1972 revenge flick, The Last House on the Left followed the original's story beats; it also doubled down on the graphic violence. The film received mixed reviews but was a modest commercial success, grossing $46 million against a $15 million budget. It still ranks as one of the best horror remakes, despite its (gratuitous) depiction of torture and sexual violence.

Craven agreed to produce the remake if it improved on the original's pacing and scope. A bigger budget also allowed for more creative leeway, including bringing director Dennis Iliadis onboard. The film...

Why Marvel cut Oscar-nominated John Malkovich’s villain role from ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’: A brief explainer
Image
No, you did not blink and miss it. John Malkovich will no longer appear in Marvel Studios’ upcoming tentpole The Fantastic Four: First Steps, despite having filmed scenes as the villain Ivan Kragoff, also known as the Red Ghost.

Director Matt Shakman confirmed the decision to cut the Emmy-winning/Oscar-nominated actor's scenes in an interview with Variety, citing the film’s complex structure and need to keep focus.

“There was a lot of stuff to balance in this movie, and some things had to go,” Shakman said. “John is one of my favorite humans and one of my biggest inspirations. It was heartbreaking not to include him."

Malkovich’s scenes were part of the film’s early sequence, which explored the Fantastic Four’s first years as superheroes. A brief shot of Malkovich as the Red Ghost appeared in the first teaser trailer.

First Official Look at Paul Walter Hauser's Fantastic Four Villain Has Dropped
Image
Ahead of its impending theatrical release, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps has received a brand-new photo featuring one of its villains, portrayed by Emmy-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser. In addition, director Matt Shakman and Hauser also shared some new details about the villainous character.

Shared by USA Today, the new photo has finally provided fans with the first look at Hauser’s Harvey Elder/Mole Man. Just like in the comics, the character can be seen wearing an all-green attire while sporting a pair of unique-looking goggles. According to Shakman, Hauser’s version is different from the original Marvel character because he’s “really more of a union boss than a supervillain” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The filmmaker also teased Harvey and Sue’s unlikely bond with each other. “He's all about community, and that's why Sue and Harvey have a good relationship, and they get along.

Marvel finally introduces a major MCU character in Avengers twist
Image
The Marvel Comics event One World Under Doom has been fantastic (pardon the adjective that Doctor Doom would hate). Victor von Doom rules the world, but without an iron fist. He’s actually made Earth better by opening borders for everyone, giving universal healthcare, and making sure criminals are taken care of before they can become a threat to the public. Sadly, as you learn in Superior Avengers No. 1, things are good in the present, but not in the future.

Whatever happened, Doom’s world became a mess. And let’s be honest, no one should be shocked. If it walks like Doom and talks like Doom, we can guess that the future ends in (say it with me!) doom. This is why a team of freedom fighters came from the past to ensure their future doesn’t occur. They did so by convincing Doom and his adopted son, Kristoff Vernard,...

‘Thunderbolts’ Director Says Marvel “Embraced” the Film’s Take on Mental Health [Exclusive]
Image
There’s been no shortage of discourse surrounding Thunderbolts* — Marvel’s bold summer team-up that brought together some of the MCU’s most overlooked characters and gave them a spotlight and an existential crisis or two. In a wide-ranging conversation with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, director Jake Schreier opened up about one of the most unexpected core themes of the movie: its unflinching focus on mental health. Asked directly whether there were ever nerves about approaching such delicate material, Schreier was candid in his thoughts.

“I think the only fear was that if we were going to do something like that, it would be really bad that it felt reductive,” Schreier said. "You know what I mean? Just like if we're going to portray something like The Void, if we're going to try to portray something that people really feel and connect with, it would be bad if we were...

Prime Video Renews 'Invincible' for Season 5 Ahead of Season 4 Premiere
Image
Invincible fans have a lot to celebrate this morning, as even though Season 4 of Prime Video's hit animated superhero series isn't expected to return until next year, it's just been renewed for Season 5. Created by Robert Kirkman and based on the comic series of the same name he brought to life with Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Invincible follows the exploits of young Mark Grayson, a teenager whose father happens to be the most powerful superhero on the planet. As he comes to terms with the emergence of his own powers, he discovers his father's legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Per Deadline, Prime Video has officially given the go-ahead for Invincible Season 5, which was a no-brainer when you consider that Season 3 became their most watched animation season of all time. It recently scored a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Steven Yeun), marking...

Wu-Tang Clan Bid Farewell to New York in Majestic Fashion
Image
Near the end of what’s purported to be Wu-Tang Clan’s final Madison Square Garden set, Raekwon gave the crowd an affirmation about the legendary group: “One of one!” The most derivative rappers in the world will tell you they are too; the Clan actually embody the term. At times, mainstream rap these days feels like a gentrified city where the spaces that once harbored unforgettable memories have been converted into yet another Starbucks. Lyricism as the default measure of talent feels like a distant memory. But even those cities have indelible,...

Avengers: Doomsday Described As "Tragic, Epic" & "Mental" By The Fantastic Four Cast
Image
The principal cast of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps have been attending a number of fan-events to promote the MCU reboot over the past week or so, and, as you might expect, they have also been getting some questions about their roles in Avengers: Doomsday.

While being interviewed by BBC News, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) and Joseph Quinn (Human Torch) were asked to describe the next big MCU event film in four words, and the responses were: "Epic, tragic, intergalactic, starry," and "epic, mental, Robert, Downey and Jr."

Moss-Bachrach's "tragic" is obviously the most interesting adjective here. We have heard that Doomsday will kill off at least one major character, and there have been rumors that the movie will conclude with an Infinity War-style shocker to set up Avengers: Secret Wars.

In a separate interview, Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman) was asked how it felt to be a part of Doomsday's sprawling ensemble cast.

'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Makes Shock Decision To Cut Legendary Actor's Role
Image
Alas, there will be no Super-Apes for Marvel's first family to fight. Variety exclusively reports that, in a shocker, John Malkovich did not make it into the final cut of The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The beloved actor was originally slated to play the Red Ghost, Ivan Kragoff — one of the superhero team's earliest villains, but director Matt Shakman revealed in an interview that his appearance early in the film was sadly trimmed out to give the rest of the cast more room to breathe. It's a stunning decision considering that the character was featured in the first trailer, though he had been conspicuously missing from any future teasers.

Malkovich's Red Ghost was originally meant to be featured as part of an introductory sequence that explored the early days of the Fantastic Four's career as crime fighters. The moment is a sort of homage to the early comics and the villains featured within,...

Krypo the Superdog spurs huge interest in dog adoption!
Image
James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe is off to an excellent start, with Superman soaring at the box office. The new movie kicks off a whole new franchise that hopes to rival the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Superman is unashamedly a comic book movie. Writer-director James Gunn dives head-first into the whacky and whimsical comic book aspects with a flourish, even introducing the hero's canine companion, Krypto. Naturally, like any furry friend, Krypto has won the hearts of fans around the globe. And according to reports, this love for Krypto the Superdog has sparked a massive interest in dog adoption.

According to The Wrap, Superman inspired a 500% surge in dog adoption interest. The specific numbers come from dog training app Woofz, which showed that Google searches for “adopt a dog near me” rose 513% and “rescue dog adoption near me” increased by 163%.

Searches got specific, too, being tailored towards Krypto's...

‘Felt a Little Bloodless’: Thunderbolts* Director Reveals Why Taskmaster’s Role Was Changed in the Final Script
Image
Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier opened up about the creative team’s decision to change Taskmaster’s role in the final script. In the movie, Quantum of Solace star Olga Kurylenko portrayed the role of Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, who was originally introduced as one of the villains in 2021’s Black Widow.

In a previous interview with Diverto, Kurylenko confirmed that the first script she received featured Taskmaster making it through the entire movie. However, after the 2023 writer’s strike, script changes were made, with the creative team ultimately deciding to kill her character during the first act of the movie. Now, in a new interview with ScreenRant, Schreier clarified that the script was redeveloped prior to the strike. Contrary to previous rumors, he revealed that they didn’t add Taskmaster’s death just for the reshoots. “Just to be clear, it's not a late add for reshoots. Once we came out...

McU's Taskmaster Star Olga Kurylenko Breaks Silence on 'Thunderbolts*' Death
Image
Olga Kurylenko says she learned the hard way how fast a Marvel role can vanish. Speaking to French outlet Diverto in a new interview, the actress shared her thoughts on the controversial decision made to end Taskmaster’s role in the franchise early in Thunderbolts*.

While there is always a chance that all the characters in an ensemble piece may not make it out of the movie alive thanks to the need for a shocking and dramatic turn of events – just ask Cobie Smulders – fans were shocked when Taskmaster was swiftly shot and killed before the movie really got started. For Kurylenko, the result was a massive upheaval following a complete creative overhaul that happened during the writers' strikes. She explained:

"Actually, we were unlucky because we started shooting this film when the strike happened. So, basically, we brought all our stuff with us. I took my son out of school,...

Birds At Night Movie Ending Explained: Is Ghost Dead?
Image
Birds at Night, directed by Mike Ellwood, is clearly a film that doesn’t care much about having a cohesive narrative, preferring to hinge on its psychedelic vibe. There’s still a story—of a few individuals going through a drug-fueled journey through the course of a night—but it hardly matters in the context of the movie. In a way, I suppose the director purposefully made it with the intention of making the audience feel that they’re also tripping. And I’ve got to say he has been successful in that, except it’s a bad trip that you’d like to forget. The late David Lynch would probably appreciate this low-budget sci-fi thriller that doesn’t care to explain things much, but I find it hard to do so considering the task I have at hand here, i.e., simplifying this movie for you. I’m still...

‘Ghost’ at 35: How Jerry Zucker pivoted from ‘Airplane!’ and ‘Naked Gun’ spoof comedy to an unlikely Best Picture nominee
Image
At first glance, Jerry Zucker wouldn't seem like the kind of filmmaker to have a ghost of a chance at crafting a Best Picture-nominated film. But that unlikely event came to pass 35 years ago when the codirector of spoof comedies like Airplane! and The Naked Gun made the supernatural romance Ghost. Released on July 13, 1990, the film went on to become the year's biggest domestic box-office hit and a surprise Oscar powerhouse.

Zucker rose to Hollywood fame as a member of the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker trio that included brother David Zucker and their friend, the late Jim Abrahams. Together, they wrote The Kentucky Fried Movie before helming seminal comedies Airplane! and Top Secret!.

Hot on the heels of their 1986 non-spoof comedy hit Ruthless People, the team locked down a two-year deal with Paramount Pictures. That deal launched with a bang thanks to The Naked Gun, based on their short-lived TV series, Police Squad.

The Gorge filmmakers Scott Derrickson, Maggie Levin to adapt Clay McLeod Chapman’s horror novel Ghost Eaters
Scott Derrickson at an event for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Sinister and The Black Phone filmmaker Scott Derrickson will keep it all in the family for his next film project, as he partners with his equally gifted wife, Maggie Levin, for an adaptation of Clay McLeod Chapman’s horror novel Ghost Eaters. Derrickson’s Crooked Highway studio recently picked up the rights to the bestseller, with Levin directing and writing the adaptation.

The plot for Ghost Eaters gives me Flatliners vibes. It focuses on a group of friends who discover a drug called Ghost, which allows them to see the dead. Unfortunately, Ghost has disturbing side effects. Once you take it, you can never go back.

Here’s a lengthier description of Chapman’s novel, courtesy of Amazon:

Erin hasn’t been able to set a single boundary with her charismatic but reckless college ex-boyfriend, Silas. When he asks her to bail him out of rehab—again—she knows she needs to cut him off.

Marvel Star Reveals Her MCU Character Wasn’t Meant to Die Originally
Image
According to Thunderbolts* actress Olga Kurylenko, that shockingly swift dispatch of Taskmaster wasn't always Marvel Studios' plan. Initially, Thunderbolts* had a different plan for Dreykov's daughter, and fans are now learning about when that changed and what the Taskmaster actress had to say about it.

During the death-trap fight sequence in Thunderbolts* first act, Black Widow's Taskmaster is abruptly killed off by Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) following a few stunts and a single line of dialogue. But originally, the Taskmaster actress explained, she was "there until the end," just like the rest of the cast.

Marvel Studios Confirms 15th MCU Only Character To Make Their Comics Debut
Image
Another reinvented character from the MCU made their Marvel Comics debut in Superior Avengers #4, written by Steve Foxe and illustrated by Luca Maresca, a tie-in series to the still ongoing "One World Under Doom" event. The story's premise is Doom's disappointment of an heir, Kristoff Vernard, forming a team of Avengers using acolytes of his father plucked from the distant future, where he still rules the world.

While the team appeared loyal to Kristoff and his father's regime, these Avengers quickly revealed themselves to be no acolytes to Doom by the end of the first issue. They had already killed the Latverian ruler in their time and planned on doing it again if he stood in the way of their true mission. The team is comprised of a woman named Killmonger, their revenge-driven leader; Doctor Octopus, a royal heiress gifted the original villain's robotic arms; Malekith, a living amalgamation of...

"We Moved To Atlanta For 5 Months": Thunderbolts* Star Olga Kurylenko Opens Up On Taskmaster's Shock Exit
Image
Black Widow's take on Taskmaster was comic-accurate in the sense that "he" successfully mimicked the McU's superheroes and was a force to be reckoned with. However, the movie would eventually reveal that he was a she, and Tony Masters was swapped out for Antonia Dreykov.

With a much-improved costume in Thunderbolts*, the hope had been that Taskmaster might find some redemption in the team-up project. Instead, Olga Kurylenko had a single line of dialogue and a brief fight scene before being gunned down by Ghost.

We've since learned that original plans called for her to become a New Avenger, with an entire subplot devoted to her bonding with Ghost and repeatedly attempting to kill John Walker due to her memory issues. Director Jake Schreier, however, felt the movie needed some added stakes and decided the best way to achieve that was to have one of the leads die early on.

Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, Billy Corgan, Ghost’s Papa Lead Superjam at Final Black Sabbath Concert
Image
A second superjam at the “Back to the Beginning” final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham on Saturday (July 5th) featured an all-star roster of musicians, including Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, Ghost’s Papa V Perpetua, and more.

Corgan joined Tom Morello for covers of Judas Priest’s “Breaking the Law” and Black Sabbath’s “Snowblind.” Hagar sang Ozzy’s “Flying High Again,” while Ghost’s Papa performed Ozzy’s “Bark at the Moon. Tyler was joined by The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood for “Train Kept a Rollin,” and stayed onstage for a medley of “Walk This Way” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Tyler’s appearance was especially notable as the Aerosmith frontman has been largely sidelined from performing since suffering a vocal injury in late 2023.

They were backed by such musicians as Travis Barker, Nuno Bettencourt, Vernon Reid, K.K. Downing, Adam Jones,...

Midnight Sons Movie Rumored To Have Found A Writer As Mahershala Ali Hilariously Dodges Marvel Questions
Image
Marvel Studios has never officially announced a Midnight Sons movie. However, it's been rumoured to be in the works enough times that we can be fairly confident there are indeed plans to assemble a group of supernatural anti-heroes in the MCU.

We recently learned that it's back to being actively developed (after reportedly losing Logan scribe Michael Green), and scooper Daniel Richtman now brings word that, "Marvel has hired a [new] writer for Midnight Sons."

He doesn't know who it is, but this bodes well for a movie we'd imagine could be where Mahershala Ali makes his proper MCU debut as Blade. The Daywalker's solo movie simply hasn't come together at Marvel Studios, so starting with a team-up might be the wisest move at this point.

Ali was recently joined by his Jurassic World Rebirth co-stars Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson for a new interview. During that, the Wicked star...

Original Power Cast: Where Are They Now?
Image
The Power Universe continues to thrive eleven years after the original Power debuted in the summer of 2014.

It’s hard to imagine that Starz foresaw what a phenomenon the series would be, as it quickly became the cable network’s biggest show and spawned several spinoffs that are still airing to this day.

A show about a drug dealer trying to go legit (sort of) became a sensation, and at one point, it was one of the most talked-about shows on social media.

(Courtesy of Starz)

Fans loved to come together to rant and rave about Ghost, Tommy, Kanan, Angela, and Tasha as they made dumb moves in the name of family or something else ridiculous, and we ate it up every single time.

When the show ended after six seasons, fans were rightfully upset, but jumping right into Power Book II: Ghost helped ease some of the pain, as Tariq St.
