Canary Black Cast & Character Guide
Image
Apart from walking through several action set pieces and a thrilling drama, Canary Black also features memorable character beats driven by the compelling performances of its cast members. Directed by Pierre Morel, Canary Black is another addition to Amazon Prime Video's roster of action movies. Although its title might suggest it has something to do with DC Comics' Black Canary, the film follows an original story that focuses on a CIA agent on the run.

Canary Black's filming primarily took place in Zagreb, Croatia, and even the scenes that portray Tokyo in the movie's storyline were shot in the Croatian city of Rovinj. When it comes to the movie's cast, it features both familiar and new faces as its leads. Since many viewers may be curious about who plays whom in Canary Black's story after watching it on Prime Video, it is worth breaking down the key characters and the talented actors behind them.

Defamation case against Nexstar to move forward, judge says
Image

A federal judge overseeing a defamation case brought against Nexstar Media Group by two former news managers will be allowed to proceed for the time being.

In a three-page order issued on Tuesday, Judge Robert Jonker denied Nexstar’s motions to dismiss, saying former Wood-tv News Director Stanton Tang and his assistant news director, Amy Fox, had met certain legal burdens in order to move forward with separate but related defamation cases against the broadcaster.

Tang and Fox lost their jobs last year after orchestrating and distribution a memo that was viewed as critical of the station’s coverage of Pride Month events in the greater Grand Rapids area. The memo reminded newsroom employees that Wood-tv’s viewership consisted of people who identify politically as Conservative, and encouraged them to better weigh whether an event was worth covering.

Vacancy (2007) – Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie?
Image
The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Silence of the Lambs was Written by Mike Holtz, Narrated by Travis Hopson, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

There are many rules in the genre of horror. Never build anything on top of an ancient Indian burial ground. Don’t say “I’ll be right back”. Because you won’t. Don’t decide the best time to transfer Michael Myers to a new location is on Halloween night. That one’s simple common sense but here we are. Another should be that finding any physical media when in a horror movie is a very bad thing. From the VHS tape in The Ring to Ethan Hawke’s box of family fun in Sinister, all the way down to the Necronomicon. In today’s horror movie, the rule...

Two Michigan TV Station EPs Ousted Over Criticism Of Memo About Pride Month Coverage
Image
It has been a tumultuous few days at Nexstar Media Group-owned NBC affiliate Wood-tv in Grand Rapids, Mi.

Executive producers Madeline Odle and Luke Stier revealed on Twitter that were ousted Thursday after criticizing a company memo on Pride Month coverage. The pair had been critical of a memo circulated by the station’s news director Stanton Tang and assistant news director Amy Fox that urged reporters to scale back on coverage of Pride Month-related events because LGBTQ issues were “polarizing in our community.”

According to the memo first reported by The Desk, Fox wrote: “We need to recognize that some stories related to LGBTQ issues are going to be controversial and polarizing in our community. While you personally may not agree with a certain position, people are entitled to their opinions and they are our viewers.”

The Snuff of Nightmares – Checking into ‘Vacancy’ 16 Years Later
Image
Stopping at an isolated, run-down motel for the night does not bode well in a horror film. Audiences expect — even want — something bad to happen. Vacancy more than satisfies those expectations, seeing as how Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson’s hapless, anguished characters almost instantly find themselves in peril once they book a room at the Pinewood Motel. Dirty sheets and bad plumbing are the least of their problems when they discover their accommodations come with one additional, not to mention creepy, amenity: secret cameras.

Had things gone differently, Vacancy would have starred Sarah Jessica Parker, and it would have been directed by Simon West. As interesting as it would have been to see Parker fight for her life in a straight-up horror film, plans changed and Kate Beckinsale filled the role of Amy Fox. Luke Wilson, however, was David Fox from the very beginning when the film was first...
