Exclusive: After more than a decade, Silver Lining Entertainment, the management and production company founded by veterans Jeff Golenberg and Sam Maydew, is dissolving.

Golenberg and fellow Silver Lining partner Jason Shapiro have launched Strand Entertainment, a management and production company based in Los Angeles, bringing most of Silver Lining’s managers with them. Maydew has formed his own management/production company, 734 Media. The split we hear was amicable, with the former partners’ paths diverging, a process accelerated by the pandemic.

Joining Golenberg and Shapiro in their new venture are longtime colleagues Tarik Kanafani, Emily Rifanburg, Kaelyn Hutchins, and Aileen Lewis. Podcast producer Glisten+ (a portmanteau of “great” and “listen”) launched Tuesday with two initial programs, part of a larger slate of scripted fare that it plans to roll out in the coming months.

The first original series include the young adult-geared “Can’t Relax,” about a relaxation app that secretly places murderous messages into the brains of its teen listeners. The supernatural thriller features Olivia Trujillo (“For All Mankind”), Andre Robinson (“Cheaper by the Dozen”) and Patrick Labyorteaux (“NCIS”).

The other show is fantasy adventure “League of Wonder,” which follows a Yorkshire terrier who teams up with a rag-tag group of animal heroes to rescue Dorothy Gale and a pair of magical slippers. Giulia Prenna is attending Mipcom with the sales arm of her Mind The Gap Productions to kick off talks on a slate of five features led by Keoni Waxman’s rom-com The Modelizer.

The Los Angeles-based producer of 2021 SXSW drama The Fallout with Shailene Woodley launched the sales division during the pandemic and attended Cannes Marché with the new venture for the first time. She will bring the sales slate to the AFM at the start of November.

Netflix star Chris O'Neal has been charged for a felony for driving while intoxicated, E! News has confirmed.  According to documents obtained by E! News, the 26-year-old actor was arrested on Friday, May 1 in San Fernando Valley, Calif. His total bail amount totaled $100,000.  TMZ also reported that the Netflix Greenhouse Academy actor was arrested after leaving the scene of the crime. Further, law enforcement also tells TMZ that they allegedly received 911 calls and responded to the scene of the crime following the tire tracks of O'Neal's car that led them to where the actor was parked. Nickelodeon has decided to cancel their How To Rock TV series. This is the fourth sitcom that the cable channel has announced is ending -- along with Victorious, Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures, and iCarly.

How to Rock revolves around Kacey Simon (Cymphonique Miller), a popular mean girl whose status goes down after she must briefly wear braces and glasses. She's ignored by her friends so Kacey finds a new way to express herself through music. She becomes the lead singer of a pop/hip-hop band. Others in the cast include Samantha Boscarino, Max Schneider, Lulu Antariksa, Halston Sage, Noah Crawford, and Christopher O'Neal.

The show premiered to a very healthy 3.28 million viewers with a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The numbers fell over the course of the season and most recently generated 2.1 million in a 0.3 demo rating.
