Kandi Burruss is reacting to the rumors of a cast shakeup for the next season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta!

If you didn’t know, it was previously hinted that the Bravo series could be getting a full cast overhaul like The Real Housewives of New York City, or that it would continue with only a couple of the current Housewives.

Now, Kandi, who joined Rhoa in season two, has seemingly confirmed those rumors and even shared a little tease for what we could expect.

“They haven’t told me anything, but if you’re asking me to guess, I think there’s truth to both,” she told E! News. “I do believe that some old—I don’t want to say old—but previous cast members will be back. I don’t know how many, but I do think at least one.

Awich’s last full-length was 2022’s Queendom. Earlier this year, she released the EP United Queens, which solely featured female artists. But there were new revelations, like Frankel’s attempt to pitch a show starring her and Leakes called “Ebony and Ivory,” and Leakes admitting she felt executive producer/host Andy Cohen never liked her.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast for season 16 is going to look very different, Et has learned.

“A major shakeup is coming to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Before the women filmed their recent reunion, they were told that they should expect a big change with the franchise moving forward,” a source tells Et. “They hinted at a reboot like New York got, but it also could be moving forward with only a couple of the current stars. The cast is on edge about their future and has no idea where the network plans to go. Although their ratings are still strong, the network is listening to fans and their desire for a change.”

A second source, however, tells Et no decisions have been made and likely won’t be made until after the reunion airs.

NeNe Leakes exited The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2020, but it's time for her to return to the Bravo series. After appearing in eleven seasons, NeNe's relationship with the show and network soured when, in 2022, she accused Bravo, NBCUniversal, and the production team for violating federal employment and anti-discrimination laws. NeNe's lawsuit claimed Kim Zolciak-Biermann made racist comments about her, but Bravo punished NeNe for complaining rather than Kim. While NeNe later dropped the case, the stain of marking Bravo execs as racist hasn't disappeared, especially considering NeNe's wild popularity and glaring absence from the show.

Her assessment that production turned a blind eye to problematic behavior for the sake of the story isn't unfounded. Kim engaged in repeated behavior that could easily be labeled racist. Gregg Leakes, who appeared alongside his wife NeNe Leakes on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has died at the age of 66, our sister site Variety reports.

“Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart,” a publicist said in a statement. “After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes. We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family and allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time.
