Freeridge is an 8-episode, coming-of-age comedy following sibling rivals Gloria (Keyla Monterroso Mejia) and Ines (Bryana Salaz) and their friends Demi (Ciara Riley Wilson) and Cameron (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) who have unleashed a curse bringing dark misfortune into their lives. Michael Solomon and Zaire Adams also star.

Fans of the original series saw the return of On My Block favorites Paula Garcés as Geny Martinez, Eric Gutierrez as Ruben Martinez, Eme Ikwuakor as Dwayne Turner, and Raushanah Simmons as Fran Turner. Peggy Blow, who played Marisol Martinez aka Abuelita in On My Block, is also listed as cast.

The series was co-created, executive produced and showrun by Lauren Iungerich alongside co-creators and executive producers Jamie Uyeshiro, Eddie Gonzalez, Jeremy Haft, and Jamie Dooner.

Netflix has canceled “On My Block” spinoff “Freeridge” after just one season, TheWrap has learned.

The eight-episode YA series starred Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Bryana Salaz, as, respectively, rival sisters Gloria and Ines, and featured an entirely Poc cast.

“Freeridge,” which premiered on Feb. 2, was ordered to series in September 2021 when it was announced that “On My Block” would be ending with its fourth season.

Netflix’s On My Block spinoff Freeridge is set to premiere on February 2.

Freeridge is an 8-episode, coming-of-age comedy following sibling rivals Gloria (Keyla Monterroso Mejia) and Ines (Bryana Salaz) and their friends Demi (Ciara Riley Wilson) and Cameron (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) who have unleashed a curse bringing dark misfortune into their lives. Michael Solomon and Zaire Adams also star.

Fans of the original series will see the return of Paula Garcés as Geny Martinez, Eric Gutierrez as Ruben Martinez, Eme Ik0wuakor as Dwayne Turner, and Raushanah Simmons as Fran Turner. Peggy Blow, who played Marisol Martinez aka Abuelita in On My Block, is also listed as cast.

The series is co-created, executive produced and showrun by Lauren Iungerich alongside co-creators and executive producers Jamie Uyeshiro, Eddie Gonzalez, Jeremy Haft, and Jamie Dooner.

Freeridge reunites Iungerich with fellow On My Block co-creators Gonzalez, and Haft.

Netflix has added two series regulars to “Freeridge,” its spinoff of the recently concluded young adult series “On My Block.” Tenzing Norgay Trainor newly joins the cast, while “On My Block” star Peggy Blow appears in a new role, Variety has learned exclusively.

Named after the fictional Los Angeles neighborhood that “On My Block” takes place in, “Freeridge” follows a new crew of friends who may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse kicking off an unforgettable adventure.

In “On My Block,” Blow played Ruby’s (Jason Genao) grandmother Marisol Martinez, more often known as ‘Abuelita.’ She often acted as an accomplice to the teens’ various adventures in Freeridge. Her character in “Freeridge” is not yet known.

Trainor’s character is also not yet known. His credits include Netflix’s “Boo, Bitch” and Disney Channel’s “Liv and Maddie.”

Netflix announced that Bryana Salaz, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ciara Riley Wilson and Shiv Pai have joined the cast of “Freeridge,” the upcoming spinoff of “On My Block.”

The young adult comedy will reveal another side of the fictitious L.A. town Freeridge, following Salaz, Meija, Wilson and Pai’s characters as the new protagonists after they appeared in the series finale of “On My Block.” In “Freeridge,” the new core group end up on an adventure after realizing they may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse.

Salaz is best known for being a contestant on Season 7 of “The Voice” and later starring in “Team Kaylie,” while Mejia’s credits include Season 11 of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Growing Fangs.” Wilson has appeared in “L.A. ‘s Finest” and “Kim Possible” and Pai has appeared in “Iron Fist” and “Uncut Gems.”

Uyeshiro, Gonzalez and Haft will serve as co-creators, co-showrunners and executive producers of Freeridge. Iungerich and Dooner are co-creators and executive producers.

It’s time to meet the new kids on the block. Netflix on Friday announced the cast of Freeridge, an upcoming spinoff of On My Block, whose fourth and final season is currently available to stream.
