Shali Mals' active involvement in the performing arts began at a young
age. Growing up in a small town in Malaysia there wasn't much to do
besides study. Yet in between math and science classes Shali began
performing whenever she could, eventually going on to win various
storytelling, singing and drama competitions in her Province. After
feeling very drawn to music, Shali became educated in music technology
and audio design at the Australian National University and University
of Sydney. Upon graduating she was able to put her skills to use for
various theatre companies in Sydney, Australia, Nassau, Bahamas, and
Seattle, WA.
After moving to the US Shali was captivated by live acting and became a professional acting intern at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, CA. She has since performed in both Midsummer Night's Dream and Richard III. Shali is also integrating her musical skills by managing the sound design for 'My Name is Rachel Corrie' at Theatricum. Shali recently filmed her first pilot, is currently working on a few theatre projects around LA and continues to develop her skills as an actress.
In addition, Shali is a classically trained Indian dancer, Hip Hop DJ and holds a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
