The Chattanooga Film Festival 2023 returns in person and virtually for its tenth year, taking place June 23 through 29! The beloved festival will return to an in person event for the first time since 2019, from June 23 through 25, while still offering a virtual experience from June 23 through 29.

We Might Hurt Each Other joins previously announced Screambox screenings of Onyx The Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls and body horror New Religion. Also, Dead Weight has participated in over twenty-two film festivals, receiving some praise. The film stars Joe Belknap, Mary Lindberg, Michelle Courvais and Aaron Christensen. Two things can/have happened with the greater ease of making an indepedent film: One is that newbie filmmakers take no time or care with writing a good story and then take even less time to plan how they will film the story because, you know, they can just shoot a bunch of digital and worry about the results later. Two is that filmmakers do take that time to make sure the story is told well, thinking through how each shot is presented and how it represents the story. Luckily, Dead Weight falls into the latter category. Last May "Elvira's Horror Hunt" began searching for features and shorts to be screened at the September HorrorHound Weekend with grand prize winners to be announced by Elvira herself during the con. Seven features and 13 shorts have been selected, and we have all the details here.
