Biography

    • Julian Booth is a Welsh actor and stand-up/improv comedian born in Newport, South Wales. He grew up in the nearby town of Caldicot, near Chepstow, Gwent. He attended the local secondary school, Caldicot Comprehensive, then went on to complete a BA Joint (Hons) undergraduate degree in philosophy and psychology at Keele University in Staffordshire, England.

After completing formal acting training in London, he then studied in Los Angeles with well-renowned method-acting coach and former film/television actress Dianne Hull, herself taught by Lee Strasberg and legendary American director, Elia Kazan.

His first significant lead film role was in Still and the Spot (2015), which won the 2015 Audience Choice Film Award at the CEC 21st Annual Short-takes International Film Festival held at UCLA. He then went on was to appear as one the lead cast in Sentient (2014), selected for LA Screamfest and Dragon Con film festivals in 2014, and which also premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in the same year.

Since relocating to Los Angeles, Julian has wrapped up indie-features As Worlds Collide (2018); Cult of the Vampire (2016); and The Radicalization of Jeff Boyd (2017); and has most recently starred in George Clooney's new movie Suburbicon (2017); a recurring role on NBC Saudi Arabia's new TV comedy "Cut"; Smosh TV's new comedy Part Timers (2016); and "Saw" director Darren Bousman's highly innovative immersive theatre "The Tension Experience: Ascension", voted as one of the top three immersive theatre productions in the world.

Julian is also a participant on BAFTA LA's Newcomers Program, which promotes some of the UK's best new talent to the US film & TV industries.
