“I was feeling epic.” That immortal line from The Vampire Diaries echoed through social media for several weeks, but some key faces were notably absent from the celebration that inspired it. On June 20, Michael Trevino tied the knot with model Bregje Heinen in a sun-drenched Spanish ceremony, but conspicuously missing were his on-screen brothers-in-immortality: Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.

The lavish affair was otherwise a veritable bloodline reunion, with Nina Dobrev, Candice King, Kayla Ewell, and Charles Michael Davis in tow, toasting Trevino’s new chapter. So who came, who ghosted, and why? Was it scheduling, silence, or something deeper?

Spain became a sunlit sanctuary for nostalgia as Michael Trevino, best known for playing the often-woeful but loyal Tyler Lockwood, married Bregje Heinen in a ceremony that looked like a Pinterest board curated by Aphrodite.

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals fans were in for an unexpected treat. The two series have been off the air for eight and seven years, respectively, but the cast is still extremely close.

The two shows had a real-life reunion in Sitges, a small town close to Barcelona, Spain, for a special occasion: Michael Trevino's wedding. The actor, who played Tyler Lockwood on the original show, married model Bregje Heinen on June 20. His co-star, lead actress Nina Dobrev, just posted a series of photos from the wedding on Instagram, including a reunion with the cast and its co-creator, Julie Plec.

Bregje shared some snaps of the happy couple to her Instagram account on Monday (June 23) alongside their wedding date. The pair tied the knot at a venue in Spain with a view of the water.

The Originals alum Steven Kreuger told The New York Post last month that there would be some of Michael‘s Vampire Diaries co-stars at the wedding.

“We are going to our friend Michael Trevino’s wedding, who is also on ‘Vampire Diaries,’ in a few weeks. So there will be a lot of the cast there, and we’ll have most of the people at ours,” Steven said of himself and his fiancée, Candice King, who was also on the show with Michael.
