At a San Diego Comic-Con in which nearly everything looks a bit different this year thanks to Hollywood’s first double strike in more than half a century, one pillar did remain: the HerUniverse fashion show. And that’s because HerUniverse founder Ashley Eckstein made sure SAG was entirely on board with it.

This year marked the 9th outing for the fashion show at Sdcc, which brings fans a new line of “geek couture” every year. And while the clothing items are indeed inspired by some currently-struck work, the event itself didn’t violate any of SAG’s guidelines. Eckstein made certain of it.

Update Disney’s Aladdin will resume performances on Broadway tonight following last night’s cancellation after members of the show’s company tested positive for Covid.

In a statement this afternoon, producer Disney Theatrical said the musical will return to The New Amsterdam Theatre for its 7 p.m. Et curtain tonight.

“Our extensive protocol system to test our employees and identify positive cases worked, and allowed us to act immediately to contain those cases,” the statement reads.”Given the thoroughness of our Covid protocols and a vaccinated workforce, we remain confident that the environment is safe for our guests, cast, crew and musicians.”

Called “Celebrating 25 Magical Years of Disney on Broadway,” the concert will feature performers from Frozen, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, along with such other non-Disney Broadway hits as Hamilton and Mean Girls.

The benefit is set for Monday, November 4, at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theater, currently home to Disney’s Aladdin.

Kadeem Hardison, who starred as Dwayne Wayne on the classic sitcom “A Different World,” has been cast in Showtime’s upcoming comedy series “Black Monday.” Hardison will recur as Spencer, a neurosurgeon and husband to Dawn (Regina Hall), one of the series’ central characters.

“Black Monday,” which was co-created by David Caspe (“Happy Endings”) and Jordan Cahan (“My Best Friend’s Girl”), tells the story of Oct. 19, 1987, the day of the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. Although the cause of the crash has remained unknown, “Black Monday” re-imagines history with its own version of events involving an outside group crashing the market themselves.

Showtime has ordered a 10-episode first season and is slated for a 2019 debut.

Showtime has given a 10-episode series order to the Don Cheadle comedy series “Black Monday,” the network announced on Thursday.

From “Happy Endings” creator David Caspe, the 1980-set series centers on the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. According to Showtime’s description, “It’s the story of how a group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street and ended up crashing the world’s largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine, Don Henley’s birthday party and the glass ceiling.”

Cheadle will serve as executive producer and star alongside “Girls” alum Andrew Rannells and “Girls Trip’s” Regina Hall. Paul Scheer, Yassir Lester, Michael James Scott and Eugene Cordero will also star, with Caspe’s wife and “Happy Endings” star Casey Wilson to recur.
