UK Agent Andrew Roach Sets Up Shop With Clients Including ‘A Different Man’ Star Adam Pearson

Exclusive: UK talent agent Andrew Roach has set up a new shop and taken A Different Man star Adam Pearson with him.

Roach has exited Maya Jama’s agency Insanity to set up DEIversity Talent Management, which will focus mainly on representing deaf, disabled and neurodivergent (Ddn) talent.

Based in the South of England, DEIversity opens with A Different Man and Under the Skin star Pearson, Britain’s Got Talent winner Lee Ridley aka the Lost Voice Guy and Great British Bake Off contestant Briony May Williams. Roach has been working with Pearson for many years.

Roach said he will mainly but not exclusively represent Ddn stars. He plans on hiring more staff and, having been diagnosed with Me/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, wants to put the spotlight on agents and talent managers who have underlying health conditions.

Itvx Comedy Series ‘The Dry’ Extended for Second Season – Global Bulletin

Dry Spell Extended

ITV has commissioned a second season of the comedy-drama series “The Dry” for Itvx. It will be produced by Element Pictures (part of Fremantle), in association with Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland and ITV Studios, in partnership with RTÉ. Nancy Harris (Dates) and acclaimed director Paddy Breathnach will return to helm the second season, which will stream exclusively on Itvx next year. The first season was made available to view for free on the streamer last month. With the story picking up seven months after the end of the first, Roisin Gallagher will return as recovering alcoholic Shiv Sheridan, alongside regular cast members from the first series. Further casting details will be confirmed later. in due course.

Emma Norton, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe will serve as executive producers for Element Pictures, alongside Nancy Harris and Paddy Breathnach. ITV Studios is handling global distribution of the show.

Dlt Entertainment Expands Comedy Biz with Podcast Division

London and New York-based producer and distributor Dlt Entertainment has launched a new podcast division, which has made its debut with two new comedy series, “When No One’s Watching” and “National Treasures with Laura Lexx & Will Duggan.”

Heading up the new arm of the business is comedy writing duo, Ben Hillyar and David Mayes, whose credits include “Your Face or Mine” and Citv’s “Scrambled!” They are producing both series, which launch today via podcast platform, Acast.

Hillyar and Mayes report in to Dlt creative director Darren Smith with a brief to develop and produce comedy content in podcast format as a testing ground for ideas and talent that have the potential to be adapted for other mediums.

“When No One’s Watching” is hosted by comedian and former Virgin Radio presenter Matt Richardson, whose credits include “The Xtra Factor” and “Celebrity Haunted Mansion,” and Busted band member Matt Willis.
