On the red carpet outside the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles gala Saturday night, the organization’s president and CEO Paul Viviano explained how, if this were a typical event, the musical headliner would deliver a “low-ley” performance of two or three songs. But this year’s installment, held at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar, was anything but routine.

That was all thanks to Justin Timberlake as the 41-year-old crooner not only agreed to show up, but also to put on a show — a 40-minute mini-concert of 10 songsm including his tracks “Suit & Tie,” “Señorita” and “Can’t Fight the Feeling,” mixed in with classic hits and soul classics from artists like Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Bill Withers and Sam Cooke.

“We’re privileged to have him,” Viviano gushed of Timberlake’s showing at the event, Chla’s first in-person fundraiser in three years.

It was one hit that Dodgers baseball reporter David Vassegh didn’t enjoy.

Vassegh recorded a bit Wednesday night showing him taking a ride on Bernie Brewer’s slide an attraction at the Milwaukee Brewers’ American Family Field.

The host of the Dodger Talk show that follows Dodgers radio broadcasts and a frequent TV presence on the team’s telecasts, Vassegh was showcasing“Bernie’s Chalet,” a slide where Brewers mascot Bernie Brewer celebrates Milwaukee homers with trips down a giant white slide in the left-field stands.

Vasseghwent down the slide twice about four hours before the Dodgers’ game.

The second trip wasn’t as fun as the first.

Vassegh went out of control at the slide’s end and crashed into the padding at the end of the ride. He said he broke two bones in his right wrist and cracked six ribs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation celebrated its sixth — and due to the pandemic, first since 2019 — Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday night, with a who’s-who of L.A. sports stars and a headlining set from Jennifer Lopez.

The event, dubbed “The Party for L.A.,” raised a record-breaking 3.6 million for Ladf, which aims to improve education, health care, homelessness and social justice for all Angelenos and, since 1995, has invested more than 40 million in programs and grants to nonprofits throughout the city. Major League Baseball has opted not to punish Los Angeles Dodgers star Justin Turner for joining his teammates in an on-field celebration of winning the World Series after he’d left the game because of a positive Covid-19 test.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said today that Turner apologized for the October 27 incident and accepted responsibility. The Los Angeles Dodgers winning their first World Series title since the Reagan era Tuesday was tempered by news that the team’s star third baseman Justin Turner tested positive for Covid-19 and was informed late in the deciding Game 6. He left the field before the eighth inning and was put in isolation but returned later to celebrate the championship with his teammates — sometimes without a mask.

Now Major League Baseball wants an explanation and is launching “a full investigation into this matter.” In a statement today, MLB pointed the finger directly at the veteran player, saying: “It is clear that Turner chose to disregard the agreed-upon joint protocols and the instructions he was given regarding the safety and protection of others. … When MLB Security raised the matter of being on the field with Turner, he emphatically refused to comply.”

Carole Baskin, the big-cat activist who is the target of the murder-for-hire plot in Netflix’s “Tiger King,” says she has not been asked to appear in the upcoming bonus episode of the docuseries that Jeff Lowe says is coming — and wouldn’t have joined in even if she was.

“We have not been approached about a new episode and would not participate if asked,” a spokesperson for Baskin told TheWrap in a statement Tuesday.

“Tiger King” follows (and the title refers to) Joe Exotic, the owner of a big-cat zoo in Oklahoma. Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, was found to be guilty of hiring a hitman to kill Baskin, a rival of his in the animal world. He’s serving a multi-decade prison sentence for that and for animal rights crimes.

Zoo owner Jeff Lowe, one of the personalities on the show, made the announcement in a video posted on Twitter Saturday by Justin Turner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Turner is a fan of the docuseries and mentioned it on his wife Kourtney Turner’s podcast “Holding Kourt.”

In response, Lowe said there’s more Tiger King coming.

“Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow,” Lowe said in the video.

Heads up, Tiger King fans: We haven’t seen the last of Joe Exotic.

According to Jeff Lowe, one of the show’s infamous zoo owners, Netflix is adding one more episode of the docuseries that took the Internet by storm. The new episode will hit the streamer next week, said the swinger-turned-big cat owner, who revealed the news in a Cameo video posted on Twitter by the Los Angeles Dodgers’ third baseman Justin Turner.

The “Tiger King” phenomenon is not over yet.

Netflix is releasing an extra episode of the hit docu-series next week, according to zoo owner Jeff Lowe from the show. He revealed the details about a new episode in a Cameo video posted on Twitter by Justin Turner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“Netflix is adding one more episode. It will be on next week. They’re filming here tomorrow,” Lowe said in the video.

In a social media post on Saturday, Tiger King subject Jeff Lowe suggested that another episode of the documentary series will be coming to Netflix. 

The news was relayed via a video message to Los Angeles Dodger Justin Turner, who posted it on his Twitter account. In the clip, the zoo owner addresses Turner and his wife Kourtney, who discussed the Netflix docuseries on the latest episode of her podcast Holding Kourt.
