Variety reports that Blue Finch Films has acquired worldwide sales rights to the recently wrapped Bury the Devil, which looks to put an immersive new spin on the exorcism movie.
The outlet details director Adam O’Brien’s film, “The supernatural-tinged home invasion tale centers on a nurse who discovers her latest patient may be harboring dark secrets.”
“This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien explains. “We are with her every step and mis-step she takes – through the unravelling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. Adam O’Brien’s claustrophobic domestic thriller, which screened as part of Glasgow Frightfest 2024, begins with a woman and her husband moving into a new home – or does it? Time here is cyclical in a film centred on trauma, reflecting the way that a traumatised mind can keep reeling around the same problem, analysing and re-analysing it in the vain search for a solution. It’s an uncomfortable watch, as we stay close to its troubled central character. The challenge to viewers is to see what she’s missing.
Arguably, one of the jobs of horror cinema is to take on those issues which, though important, are just too unpleasant for most of society to be willing to deal with. “You were never meant to be a mother,” Meredith (Emily Hampshire) is told in the course of this story. The familiar old accusations are there – the suggestion that she’s failed as.

Based on a concept by Michael Kraetzer, Nightmare Radio: The Night Stalker is an anthology feature assembled from short films released as early as 2011. The wraparound segments come from director Charly Goitia, as late-night radio DJ Candy (Paula Brasca) asks listeners to call in and share their real-life horror stories. In between the wild experiences recounted on-air, an obsessed fan takes great lengths to make sure Candy hears his voice – even if it sounds like someone trying to mimic Roger L. Jackson’s Ghostface voice.
Playtime opens the film in the middle of the night, punctuated by a television turning on and awakening a sleeping woman. As she ventures downstairs to investigate, a spectre dressed as a bride appears before piling on the spooky occurrences.
