Netflix UK has assembled twelve top-tier British celebrities, who have subjected themselves as prey for a Bear hunt.
While it may not be a grizzly bear sniffing around for them, it may be worse. Edward Michael “Bear” Grylls, a British adventurer, TV personality and former British Special Forces soldier, will be on the hunt for the celebrity talent attached to the reality competition series.
Holly Willoughby hosts the Netflix show set in the Costa Rican jungle, where 12 celebrities, including Spice Girls alum Mel B and tennis legend Boris Becker, become prey for the legendary survival expert.
Each of the stars must prove how strong their sense of survival truly is as they navigate a brutal game of cat and mouse and are hunted down by Bear himself. Failure to work together and complete a challenge means an hour in the Bear Pit being hunted by Grylls. If caught, the celebrity will be eliminated.

Does money really make the world go round? Economics, business and finance have long been subjects we leave to the stockbrokers, hedge fund managers and business school professors who spend their lives obsessing over them - but there’s no reason we shouldn’t discuss ‘money’ in the same way we talk about sport and TV.
In their new podcast, The Rest Is Money, business correspondent and broadcaster Steph McGovern is joined by old friend and economics expert Robert Peston to explore everything we need to know about the issues that affect us in our everyday lives: how will AI affect your job and our economic prospects? Are we stuck with higher inflation for years to come? Why are wealthy nations like Saudi Arabia buying up sport?
Talking about her new role, Steph says: “We’ve all been told that ‘money makes the world go round‘ but who is making it and how?...

Legendary Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis has denied that her daughter Sophie Ellis-Bextor is a “nepo baby”.
Ellis, who hosted the kids’ TV show from 1979 to 1987, has three children, one of whom is the “Murder on the Dancefloor” singer.
Asked about discussions about the children of famous people being the recipients of nepotism (known as nepo babies) in a new interview, Ellis said that “the tables have turned” for her and her daughter
Appearing on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Wednesday (22 March), Ellie told host Steph McGovern: “It works the other way for me. I’m Sophie’s mum.
“Certainly in Sophie’s case it didn’t apply because what she’s doing is so different. When she first started as a singer, she was only 18, and people said to me, ‘Oh, that’s great, she’s doing something you can understand,’ I thought, ‘I don’t know the music industry at all.

Royal Family Angered by BBC Princes Doc
Members of the Royal Family are reported to be threatening to boycott the BBC over a documentary set to air tonight about Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship with the press. According to the UK’s Daily Mail, the Royal Family has been angered by the BBC’s refusal to show them The Princes and the Press before it airs tonight and have said they may withdraw co-operation for future projects. They are concerned the documentary will feature the two princes, one of whom now lives in LA, briefing against each other, according to reports. A BBC spokesman said: “The programme is about how royal journalism is done and features a range of journalists from broadcast and the newspaper industry.” The BBC’s relationship with the Royal Family is already strained following the Martin Bashir / Princess Diana scandal that re-erupted earlier this year.

When Channel 4 launches its daytime current-affairs program “The Steph Show” this spring, it will mark a milestone in the U.K. broadcaster’s output.
Like most of the British film and TV industries, Channel 4 has been heavily London-centric. By contrast, “The Steph Show,” starring journalist and presenter Steph McGovern, was commissioned by the network’s new head of daytime, who is based in Glasgow, Scotland. It will be broadcast live from the city of Leeds, which lies about 200 miles north of London and is the home of Channel 4’s new national headquarters.
The program is emblematic of a broader move in the entertainment industry to shift production out of London, which has long hogged the industry’s attention, talent and resources. The goal: to spread the wealth and identify new stories and new voices from parts of the U.K., including Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, that have historically...

Exclusive: Channel 4 has stoked anger in the British television industry after swapping producers on its tentpole election night show without a formal competitive process.
The British broadcaster announced last month that BBC Studios-backed Expectation will co-produce its Alternative Election Night on December 12, the day Britain heads to the polls in a crunch vote that could determine the country’s future relationship with the EU.
The decision to hand Expectation the Alternative Election Night, a live election results show with an entertainment twist, meant that Endemol Shine Group outfit Zeppotron was sidelined after originally creating the format in 2010 and having produced it on three separate occasions since the turn of the decade.
Two sources told Deadline that the decision was made without a formal competitive pitching process and that Channel 4 has had to go back to Zeppotron to request key production materials to maintain the show’s consistency. Channel...
