Lady Gaga’s seventh studio album, Mayhem, was—according to the singer herself—influenced heavily by industrial dance music, suggesting it would mark a return to the sound of her peak-era albums The Fame Monster and Born This Way. The set’s lead single, “Disease,” delivered on that promise, with a mechanical thrum and squelchy bassline with enough heft to support Gaga’s characteristically bombastic performance.
Aside from that track and follow-up “Abracadabra,” however, Mayhem trades almost entirely in ’80s synth-pop, especially in its middle stretch, from “Zombieboy,” a tribute to Rick Genest (who appeared in the video for 2011’s “Born This Way”), to the groovy, Bowie-esque “Killah.” It’s a bait and switch that’s likely to leave many fans disappointed and some critics bewildered.

When Lady Gaga started making her new album, Mayhem, she felt the dark, ominous energy of her first two albums — The Fame Monster and Born This Way — luring her back in.
“It was really powerful,” she says on a recent call with Rolling Stone. “Maybe the last four or so albums I’ve made, I moved away from that and tried some different things, but this was a return to those Gothic dreams.”

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus!
Will's struggle with his personal identity and fitting in is exacerbated by his move to California, away from his Hawkins friends, in Stranger Things season 4. Eddie Munson's encouragement for Will to join the Hellfire Club in high school could have been a positive influence on Will's confidence and ability to handle bullying. Unfortunately, Will never had the opportunity to join the Hellfire Club, missing out on the support and acceptance that Eddie could have provided.
A sad Stranger Things detail makes the Byers family's exit from Hawkins all the more tragic, especially for Will. Joyce took her sons, Jonathan and Will, as well as Eleven, and left Hawkins ahead of Stranger Things season 4. The group relocated to California, and while Jonathan found a quick friend and ally in Argyle, Will and Eleven had trouble fitting in with their peers.

In addition, we have five international TV spots for this action-thriller from director Carl Rinsch, which arrives in theaters Christmas Day.

An eighth poster (an international one) for Universal Pictures' 47 Ronin starring Keanu Reeves And Ko Shibasaki has arrived. We uppercased all the And because, well, it's really, quite strangely enough, a large part of this poster. I know they're trying to sell Shibasaki as a main part of the cast to the Japanese audience as well, so Reeves doesn't hog all the limelight, but still, it comes off quite cheesy looking in the end. It looks fan made frankly. 47 Ronin is directed by Carl Rinsch and opens on Christmas Day, with a cast also including Hiroyuki Sanada, Rino Kikuchi, Hiroyuki Sanada, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Tadanobu Asano and Rick Genest. I
spent a lot of time at the movies this past weekend. On Friday, I finally got to see Pacific Rim again, and it was just as much fun seeing it a second time. And on Sunday, I saw The Conjuring with a friend, and while I’m certainly not an authority of any kind on horror films, I thought it was quite good. We’re almost to the beginning of August, and the summer movie season will be starting to wind down. And speaking of looking beyond summer, this week’s Trailer Trashin’ examines our first look at this Christmas’ long-delayed fantasy/action film 47 Ronin.
Premise: The outcast Kai (Keanu Reeves) joins a group of Ronin, led by Kuranosuke Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), who seek vengeance on Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano), who killed their master and banished the group. The Ronin embark on a journey whose challenges would defeat most warriors.
