Simone Giuliani is a Film/TV composer, music producer, arranger and conductor. He's also a
keyboard player and a pianist.
He was born and grew up in Florence, Italy and later relocated to the United States.
He has worked in the past two decades with an array of international artists: Beyoncé, Andrea Bocelli, Carly Paoli, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, DJ Logic, Wu-Tang Clan, Cibo Matto, Bebel Gilberto, Groove Collective, Jovanotti, Michiru Akiyoshi, 'Jamie Catto''[Faithless, 1 Giant Leap, Carlos Santana], The Happening, Toshiko Akiyoshi & Lew Tabackin, Suzie Katayama [Prince, Madonna], Robert Sadin [Sting, Herbie Hancock], Michel Melamed, Natalie Williams [Incognito], Renaud-Gabriel Pion [Antony & The Johnsons, Bjork], Lévon Minassian [Peter Gabriel] and many more.
His film scoring credits include Reject (2013), directed by Ruth Thomas-Suh and produced by Kurt Engfehr [Bowling for Columbine (2002), Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) by Michael Moore], A Raisin in the Sun (2008) featuring Sean 'Diddy' Combs and John Stamos, nominated for a Golden Globe Award and Facing Forward: A Student's Story (2014) and Unseen by Laura Paglin, both airing on PBS.
Simone has recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London and has played with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the O2 Arena in London for Andrea Bocelli's concert during his "Cinema" tour in October 2016.
You can also hear his music in Beyond Ipanema (2009) with David Byrne, M.I.A. and Devendra Banhart. He wrote original music for Spike Lee's Humanity Project and the TV series CSI, True Blood, Arrested Development, CBS News and Volkswagen.
With Guilherme Monteiro (Gal Costa) he wrote the soundtrack for Toxic Amazon (2011), the provoking film about the deforestation in the Amazon produced by Vice Magazine that premiered at Brazilian National Congress.
With DJ Corrado Bay he launched the independent record label Emunity Records and music acts Racoon and Lazybatusu, appearing on more than 400 compilations worldwide.
Since 2008 he has been joining forces with Grammy Award-winner producer Jason Olaine releasing very rare live recordings of Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Sarah Vaughan, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie and Louis Armstrong.
He's a contributing author to the book The Spiritual Significance of Music, published by Xtreme Music [New Zealand, 2011].
