“The Other Two” is coming to a close after three seasons amid reports of a toxic workplace.
The beloved and critically acclaimed series will conclude with its current third season, making the June 29 episode the series finale. “The Other Two” was created by former “SNL” writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, who shared a press statement clarifying the decision to end after Season 3 was not due to being canceled.
However, The Hollywood Reporter credited sources saying there were “multiple staff complaints” about showrunners Kelly and Schneider over the course of the production. Per the THR report, the Hr complaints stemmed from behavior on set and in the writers’ room, including allegations that Kelly “verbally abused writers and overworked crew and claims that Schneider enabled his behavior.”
A source tells IndieWire that the report was unfounded and not connected to the series ending. Max representatives did not provide comment to THR.

The Other Two, the comedy series starring Heléne Yorke, Drew Tarver and Molly Shannon, is coming to a close with its third season on Max.
However, rather than being canceled, the decision was made by Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, co-creators of the buzzy comedy, who said that they have run out of ways to “humiliate” Tarver.
“It is bittersweet to say goodbye to the Dubek family after three seasons, but we always knew, both creatively and personally, that this was where we wanted to end their stories,” the pair said. “And because we are quite literally out of ways to humiliate Drew Tarver, so what’s the point?”
The move comes ahead of the third-season finale, which sees Shannon’s billionaire mogul mom Pat and her ex-lover/manager Streeter (Ken Marino) strategize how to broach difficult conversations with her kids, Cary (Tarver) and Brooke (Yorke). The episode airs Thursday,...

The long-awaited Season 3 of the hit satirical series deepens its disdain for Hollywood, with siblings Brooke (Heléne Yorke) and Cary (Drew Tarver) grappling with finding meaning in their respective rising entertainment industry careers. Of course, both Cary and Brooke are still in the shadow of their Justin Bieber-esque pop star younger brother ChaseDreams (Case Walker) and TV mogul mother (Molly Shannon).

Exclusive: Alex Wolff has signed on to star opposite the previously announced Kiersey Clemons in Sophie Kargman’s thriller, Susie Searches.
Kargman’s feature directorial debut is based on her 2020 short of the same name, in which she starred alongside Delon de Metz, Sam Lerner, Gabriel Notarangelo and Alison Rich. The darkly comic thriller follows Susie (Clemons), an awkward college student who seizes the opportunity to bolster her popularity—and her overlooked true-crime podcast—by solving the disappearance of a classmate. But as her investigation proceeds, we realize that the truth and Susie aren’t at all what they seem.
Wolff will play Jesse, the charismatic college kid whose disappearance sparks Susie’s investigation. While Jesse has become a campus celebrity thanks to his positivity-themed social media platform, it turns out his private life is much more complicated than his online persona suggests.
Kargman wrote the script with William Day Frank.

The Other Two, the comedy series from former SNL co-head writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, has scored a third-season pickup from HBO Max.
The series, which originally launched on Comedy Central before moving the WarnerMedia streamer for its second season, debuted its sophomore season on HBO Max in August. The streamer, which didn’t release viewing data, said that the show has been its most popular series since the release of Season 2 and has seen “steady growth each week” as new episodes dropped.
The comedy, which might be the only show on television that has a storyline based on Justin Bieber getting ill as a result of eating too many eggs, stars Drew Tarver, Heléne Yorke, Case Walker, Ken Marino and Molly Shannon.
With their pop star brother, ChaseDreams (Case Walker), officially entering retirement at the ripe old age of 14, Brooke (Yorke) and Cary (Tarver) now must contend with...

“The Other Two” duo of Drew Tarver and Heléne Yorke are back! The series, focused on the lives of brother and sister Cary and Brooke Dubek, is moving from its original home on Comedy Central over to the HBO Max streaming service. The first trailer for Season 2 dropped and, dare we say, Cary and Brooke might be acting a little bit more mature than they once were?
The comedy follows Cary and Brooke who are the “other two” older siblings of superstar Chase Dubek (Case Walker). Unfortunately, Cary and Brooke are still having a hard time breaking into the industry; the former looks to be hosting a digital E! series while the latter is participating in her mom Pat’s (Molly Shannon) new talk show.

After a very long hiatus following its first season, “The Other Two” is finally debuting its second season later this month. On Wednesday, HBO Max — the new home of the former Comedy Central series — released the trailer for the upcoming episodes, which see siblings Cary (Drew Tarver) and Brooke (Heléne Yorke) play second fiddle yet again, but this time not to their famous brother, Chase Dubek (Case Walker).
Nope, now it’s their mom Pat Dubek (played by Molly Shannon) who is hogging all the spotlight from her desperate-to-be-famous kids.
Per HBO Max’s description for Season 2 of “The Other Two”: With their pop star brother, ChaseDreams (Case Walker), officially entering retirement at the ripe old age of fourteen, Brooke and Cary (Heléne Yorke and Drew Tarver) must now contend with a new famous family member: their 53-year-old mother Pat (Molly Shannon), and her eponymous daytime talk show. It worked.
Television writer Megan Amram’s web series dedicated to her quest to win an Emmy cleared the first hurdle: she collected nominations for outstanding actress in a short-form comedy or drama series and for outstanding series.
Released on April 27, just in time to qualify for the 2018 awards, Amram pulls the viewer into her by-the-numbers campaign to grab the television industry’s top award.
In the first of six episodes in the series, An Emmy for Megan, Amram confides to actress Alison Rich about her epiphany while watching last year’s Emmy Awards. That’s when she discovered the short-form series category, with its low bar for eligibility (six episodes of under 15 minutes).

2016 has been a banner year for the New York Television Festival. The Duplass Brothers-produced “Animals” pilot, which won Best Comedy at the festival in 2013, landed a two-season deal over at HBO. Get ready to get terminated in the new episode of “Party Over Here.” In an exclusive clip obtained by TheWrap, a woman (Alison Rich) convinces a man that she has been sent back in time to save him. And in order to save him, he has to buy her ice cream, take her to the park, and then out for a nice seafood dinner. The newly-minted sketch series stars Jessica McKenna, Nicole Byers and Rich. All three women have a deep history in comedy and improv. See video: 'Party Over Here' Shatters the Glass Ceiling for Female Comics...

“Party Over Here,” Fox’s new late-night sketch-comedy show, took on the issue of gender inequality in Hollywood on Saturday night. To go by what Nicole Byer, Alison Rich and Jessica McKenna had to say, it’s all a matter of keeping up appearances. The show stars took the stage and explained everything. “As women in comedy,” Rich said, “we’ve been getting a lot of questions about how we broke the glass ceiling and got our own TV show.” The reason was simple. Byer said: “We showed up to all our network meetings dressed like this.” The trio then introduced a backdrop of a.

The second episode of Fox’s “Party Over Here” took a dig at Donald Trump with a demand that the studio audience pledge undying loyalty to the show. Stars Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna and Alison Rich asked fans to recite: “I will commit my life to ‘Party Over Here.’ I shall chuckle when called upon to chuckle … I pledge my honor to ‘Party Over Here’ for this show and all the shows to come.” Trump, the Gop frontrunner for his party’s nomination for the presidency, recently asked supporters to take a pledge to vote for him. Near the start of the debut episode of their sketch show “Party Over Here,” stars Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna and Alison Rich appear on stage in front of a studio audience, proudly announcing the kickoff of their 25th season. It may be the funniest joke of the premiere — not because it’s a particularly hilarious bit but because it’s hard to imagine viewers giving this meager series that long of a run. Only mildly amusing and tending toward broad, obvious gags, this Fox late-night program, which is executive produced by the Lonely Island, could develop and grow in confidence over time.

“Party Over Here,” the Fox network’s late-night sketch-comedy show premiered on Saturday night, and the featured bits hinted at a show that will be full of sex, sarcasm and bodily functions. In other words, just what you would expect from the guys behind the Lonely Island comedy trio — “SNL” vets Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone — who created the show with “Fresh Off the Boat” star Paul Scheer. In this clip, from the show’s debut episode, stars Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna and Alison Rich try to impress their three mentors, the Lonely Island guys, who remain impassive and.

In a promo for Fox’s new sketch comedy program Party Over Here, executive producer Paul Scheer (The League) says he wanted to create a show “that felt like the live comedy that’s going on in New York.” Co-creator Andy Samberg probably should have informed him that there’s already a show like that, and Ariana Grande is currently hosting.

The new Fox sketch series “Party Over Here” is making yogurt look better than ever. In an exclusive clip of the premiere episode obtained by TheWrap, series co-star Alison Rich plays a woman who is way too much into eating her yogurt. Her roommates Nicole Byer and Jessica McKenna catch her in the act. McKenna is furious, since she planned to have sex with the yogurt herself. Byer, on the other hand, is more a fan of pizza. Fox is moving back into the sketch comedy genre with a new series conceived by comedy troupe The Lonely Island and actor Paul Scheer.
The show, "Party Over Here," will air on Saturday nights at 11 p.m., and be produced by the Lonely Island trio -- Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone -- and Scheer. The four comedians won't star on the program, but Scheer (who currently stars on ABC sitcom "Fresh Off the Boat") will direct.
Instead, "Party Over Here" is led by an all-female cast, including Nicole Byer ("Girl Code"), Jessica McKenna (an alum of comedy troupes the Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade), and Alison Rich (a former "Saturday Night Live" writer). It's Fox's first foray into late-night sketch comedy since "MadTV" went off the air in 2009, after a 14-season run.

The Lonely Island, that ragtag trio of musically silly SNL alums Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer, is getting its own Fox sketch series entitled Party Over Here. Though the trio itself won't appear as regular cast members, they'll produce the show, which so far stars Jessica McKenna, Nicole Byer, and Alison Rich. It will air on Saturday nights, but it won't conflict with SNL since it's slated for an 11 p.m. slot. This is all well and good, but more importantly, it's an opportunity for me to point out the single best moment in any Lonely Island video. You may have your preferences like Michael Bolton's tribute to Jack Sparrow or Justin Timberlake's special, phallic present, but I am telling you those are incorrect. The greatest moment in the Lonely Island oeuvre occurs at 0:45 in the following video, entitled "J*zz in my Pants." The...

The Lonely Island is getting back on the boat. There are (probably) not actually any boats involved, but the comedy/rap group, consisting of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer, is getting back into the Saturday night sketch comedy game after several years away from Saturday Night Live. Along with The League's Paul Scheer, they're now executive producing a new half-hour sketch show for Fox called Party Over Here, starring comedians Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna, and Alison Rich. The show will air on Saturday nights, but at 11 p.m., meaning it will air just before SNL starts at 11:30. While some were reporting the new show as a rival to the reigning king of late night...

A decade after starting their TV careers at Saturday Night Live, the Lonely Island is getting a Saturday-night sketch show of their very own. The Hollywood Reporter writes that the comedy threesome will collaborate with Paul Scheer in producing a half-hour sketch comedy series for Fox called Party Over Here. The title comes from the name of the group's "development venture" with the network and also, possibly, "Whoomp! (There It Is)." None of the Lonely Island guys will be a part of the show's ensemble — which so far includes Nicole Byer, Jessica McKenna, and Alison Rich — nor will they be directly competing with SNL, as Poh will air at eleven. Still, if Lorne Michaels takes this news better than Johnny Carson did, we'll know late-night really is a nicer place.

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...
