Initially, it seemed that Gadot could possibly be appearing as Wonder Woman in the Dcu, with the actress suggesting this to be so. Over time, though, it has become apparent that Gunn will mostly be cleaning the slate of the old Dceu and that means a new Wonder Woman will rise.

Now, the franchise is coming back with a brand new series, although Wyle's original protagonist won't be in the mix.

Speaking to Screenrant's Grant Hermanns, showrunner Dean Devlin reveals how Wyle's involvement in the new show could lead to the actor reprising his on-screen role. As such, viewers might reasonably expect to see Wyle return to the role in the new spinoff The Librarians: The Next Chapter. The Librarians Was Always a Hit. The Next Chapter Returns Home.
Image
There is great skepticism whenever a reboot or revival of a proven hit series is announced.

Despite being popular, some networks wait and see in the development process before handing out a formal series order.

When The CW confirmed in May 2023 that it had picked up The Librarians: The Next Chapter, it came out of the blue.

(TBS/Screenshot)

For one, the original series was canceled in 2018 by TNT after a four-season run.

There was a big push from the show’s fans and creatives to find it a new home, which sadly didn’t amount to a send-off.

(TBS/Screenshot)

Then, there’s the fact that there was little indication that CW could even afford a sci-fi series, considering it canceled the bulk of its scripted originals around that time.

Despite The Librarians: The Next Chapter being in development for the network’s 2023-2024 schedule, I was stunned when...

'Hit Man' Star Adria Arjona Responds to Wonder Woman Fan-Casting
Image
A fan-favorite choice for the role of Wonder Woman in James Gunn’s slowly emerging Dcu has expressed interest in joining the comic book movie franchise as the Amazonian superhero. At present, little is known about Gunn and his DC Studios co-ceo Peter Safran’s plans for Wonder Woman, with the iconic hero glimpsed in animated form in the Creature Commandos series and a prequel series titled Paradise Lost reportedly in the works.

The lack of insight into their ideas includes a total lack of knowing who will play Wonder Woman and thus take over from Gal Gadot when the character does make her Dcu debut. Well, one fan-casting favorite, Hit Man star Adria Arjona, has now expressed interest in the coveted role. Footage shared by YouTuber and X/Twitter user @yara_wayne finds Arjona being asked about the potential of her playing Wonder Woman, to which she responds with...

Adria Arjona vs Jessica Green: James Gunn Will Have a Hard Time Replacing Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman
Image
In the DC Universe, one of the most fan-beloved characters of all time, especially among the superheroes, is none other than Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman. For years, the iconic character has amused fans worldwide, and previously, Gal Gadot ensured fans felt the same way about her. But now the times have changed, and James Gunn holds the reigns to the Dcu.

That said, now that Gadot has ostensibly left the mantle behind for other younger actresses to take on the role, Gunn has a really hard decision waiting ahead for him. This is because the current debate is raging between actresses Adria Arjona and Jessica Green with respect to the potential candidate to replace Gadot, and choosing one might not be the easiest task for the co-ceo.

Superman & Lois' Final Season Gets New Premiere Date on The CW
Image
The wait for Superman & Lois Season 4 has just been shortened. The CW has rearranged its fall schedule, moving the hotly-anticipated final season of the superhero drama series from Thursday nights to Monday evenings.

Per Deadline, Superman & Lois Season 4 will debut with a two-hour premiere on Monday, Oct. 7, on The CW. The Arrowverse-adjacent series was originally scheduled to premiere on Thursday, Oct. 17. The move is believed to be in response to ABC creating a two-hour game show block on Mondays with fan-favorites Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and Press Your Luck, which would have gone head-to-head with The CW's upcoming game shows Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. The CW's game shows will now air on Thursdays, beginning Oct. 3.

The Librarians: The Next Chapter is landing on a new home! Find out where the sequel series is heading!

It’s no secret that The CW has had its share of issues in the last few years. The sale to Nexstar has led to a new direction for the network, which involves canceling practically every original series it once had, from the Arrowverse to Walker.

The CW now appears to only want scripted fare from other countries like Canada or the UK such as Wild Cards and the upcoming Joan. Their slate is more focused on reality TV and sports.

Among the shows intended to debut this fall was The Librarians: The Next Chapter. The franchise began in 2004 with a TV movie starring Noah Wyle as a scholar whose new job at the New York Metropolitan Library is a cover for him discovering magical artifacts around the world. It was...

“The Librarians” Returns to Its Original Network With Spinoff Series
Rebecca Romijn, Lindy Booth, Christian Kane, John Larroquette, and John Kim in The Librarians (2014)
The fantasy series “The Librarians” is making a comeback on its original network TNT. The cable channel will air a new spinoff titled “The Librarians: The Next Chapter.” This comes as a surprise, as the CW network had recently renewed the show.

Dean Devlin, executive producer of the series, got a call from Sam Linsky at TNT. Linsky worked on “The Librarians” since it started on TNT in 2004. He told Devlin that TNT missed the show. This led to talks of bringing it back. Devlin said moving the show required “a little coordination,” but everyone agreed to the change.

The deal between TNT, CW, and Electric Entertainment is unique. TNT will produce original scripted programming again after a break. Also, this makes CW a production studio for the first time. Brad Schwartz, president of CW, said fans will love the next chapter.

“The Librarians: The Next Chapter” will have two 12-episode seasons on TNT.

The Librarians’ journey has become a real page-turner.

One week after The CW confirmed that The Librarians: The Next Chapter — its continuation of the TV-movie franchise that begat a four-season TNT series — had been unceremoniously pulled from its fall schedule, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the series has been acquired by TNT, as one small part of the cabler’s mission to beef up its depleted drama slate.

How ‘The Librarians: The Next Chapter’ Landed A Two-Season Order At TNT & Turned The CW Into A Studio
Image
The Librarians, which started as a series of three TV movies starring Noah Wyle for TNT in 2004, is heading home, twenty years later.

Earlier this morning, it emerged that The Librarians: The Next Chapter, a spinoff to the series that ran for four seasons through 2018, would air on TNT, rather than The CW, which originally greenlit the show around May 2023.

Deadline can reveal that the show has also been handed a two-season order, which includes a first season of 12 episodes that has already been shot and is currently in post-production, as well as a second season. The first season will premiere in 2025.

The move was a surprise for a number of reasons, most notably that the Warner Bros. Discovery network was returning to original scripted series, after a few years out of the game.

“It all started with a phone call I had with Sam Linsky at TNT. He’s...
