The Gabriel Basso-led series is set to return to the streamer on Jan. 23, nearly two years after “The Night Agent” debuted its first season on March 23, 2023.

Season 2 of the action thriller series will drop in its entirety on Jan. 23, 2025 on the streaming giant. Season 1 of the show premiered in 2023 and went on to become the most watched show of that year by views (defined as total hours viewed divided by total runtime) and also the seventh most-watched English language TV show in Netflix history with 98.2 million total views.

“The Night Agent” is based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk. Big news has been revealed about the future of The Night Agent on Netflix. While the series has scored a very early renewal for Season 3, the wait for Season 2 is going to be much longer than expected.

Netflix has officially announced that The Night Agent has been renewed for Season 3. However, it's also been announced that Season 2 won't be dropping on the streaming platform until Winter 2025. The Night Agent season 2 adds three new members to its cast. The Night Agent is a Netflix series following the story of an FBI agent named Peter Sutherland who receives an unexpected phone call on the job that catapults him into a conspiracy. The Night Agent season 1 debuted in March 2023 and has since been renewed for a second season that is expected for release this year.

As per Deadline, The Night Agent season 2 has tacked on three new cast members. These cast members will be Marwan Kenzari, Elise Kibler, Dikran Tulaine. Kenzari will play a character named Reza, who is a soldier who has been court marshalled for another man’s crime. Kibler will play a British socialite named Sloane. Tulaine will step in to play Viktor, who is a man who was once the leader of his country but is now convicted of war crimes.

Exclusive: Netflix’s hit conspiracy thriller The Night Agent has added three for guest roles in Season 2: Marwan Kenzari (Black Adam), Elise Kibler (The Sunlit Night), and Dikran Tulaine (The Blacklist).

Kenzari plays Reza, a decorated soldier court marshalled for another man’s crime, who’s been given the opportunity to be a night agent. Fiercely intelligent, with a wry sense of humor and a trigger temper, he doesn’t hesitate to become violent or lethal when backed into a corner.

Kibler’s character is Sloane, a glamorous British socialite. Smart, savvy, and glib, Sloane is the girlfriend of the wealthy Tomás Bala (Rob Heaps). She knows how toxic Tomás’s family is and tries to convince him to break ties…

Tulaine portrays Viktor, a smart, dangerous and manipulative man who was once the leader of his country, but has since been convicted of war crimes.

The seventh and final season premiere of “Station 19” revealed the fate of beloved firefighter Jack Gibson after he collapsed during the tragic accident at the firefighter’s ball in the previous finale. After performing emergency surgery and saving his life, Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) broke the news to newly-promoted captain Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) that her friend and colleague sustained a life-altering brain injury that will bench him from field work permanently.

Exclusive: Strand Entertainment, the newly launched management/production company of industry veterans Jeff Golenberg and Jason Shapiro, has signed actress Robin Tunney.

Best known for leading roles on Fox’s Prison Break, CBS’s The Mentalist and The Fix, ABC’s legal drama co-created by famed attorney Marcia Clark, Tunney was most recently seen recurring opposite Connie Britton and Taylor Schilling on Jason Katims’ Apple TV+ drama series Dear Edward, based on Ann Napolitano’s novel of the same name.

The actress made her film debut opposite Brendan Fraser in 1992’s Encino Man and quickly rose to prominence with roles in cult classics like Empire Records, The Craft and Niagara, Niagara, for which she was nominated for Gotham and Independent Spirit Awards.

Most recently appearing on the film side in Jeff Baena’s film Horsegirl starring Allison Brie, Tunney continues to be repped by Gersh.

Exclusive: After more than a decade, Silver Lining Entertainment, the management and production company founded by veterans Jeff Golenberg and Sam Maydew, is dissolving.

Golenberg and fellow Silver Lining partner Jason Shapiro have launched Strand Entertainment, a management and production company based in Los Angeles, bringing most of Silver Lining’s managers with them. Maydew has formed his own management/production company, 734 Media. The split we hear was amicable, with the former partners’ paths diverging, a process accelerated by the pandemic.

Joining Golenberg and Shapiro in their new venture are longtime colleagues Tarik Kanafani, Emily Rifanburg, Kaelyn Hutchins, and Aileen Lewis. Jeff’s brother, manager/producer Rob Golenberg, who was a partner at Silver Lining, has formed GoGi Entertainment, a new production company focused on international productions, with his former assistant Paulina Giron Velasquez. New cast additions have been announced for the second season of the Netflix series The Night Agent.

Per Variety, four new cast members have been added to The Night Agent Season 2. They include Michael Malarkey (The Vampire Diaries) and Keon Alexander (The Expanse), both of whom are coming into the new season as series regulars. Also boarding The Night Agent for Season 2 in recurring guest star roles are Navid Negahban (Homeland) and Rob Heaps (Station 11). Details have also been revealed about the new characters coming into the series.

The Night Agent season 2 has brought on four more cast members. The hit Netflix show premiered in 2023 with a season following an FBI agent whose night shift job manning a mysterious phone leads him into a grand adventure that helps unravel a dangerous conspiracy. Based on the best selling novel by Matthew Quirk, the first season of the show followed Peter Sutherland (Basso), an FBI agent recruited to monitor a rarely used phone in the basement of the White House for the mysterious Night Agent program. When cybersecurity expert Rose Larkin (Buchanan) calls the number one night, they’re both pulled into a twisty conspiracy that reaches to the top echelons of the U.S. government.

The streaming service canceled Partner Track and The Imperfects.

Partner Track launched on August 26 but failed to garner much traction.

The series followed Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), a 1st generation Korean American and the first lawyer in her family, who experiences the trials and tribulations of excelling at the prestigious (but old school) law firm, Parsons Valentine.

Bradley Gibson (Power Book II: Ghost), Alexandra Turshen (Ray Donovan), Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters), and Rob Heaps (Good Girls) also starred.

The cast was rounded out by Nolan Gerard Funk (The Flight Attendant), Matthew Rauch (Banshee), and Roby Attal (The Haunting of Bly Manor).

Unfortunately, the series ended on a big cliffhanger, meaning it joins the ranks of Netflix's other one-and-done series that failed to get conclusions.
