Scotty Gannon, the half-Korean, half-Irish actor with a commanding presence, has over 35 years as an actor. As an army brat raised in a world of constant change, Gannon's journey began at the age of 15 when he took his first steps onto the professional stage. His diverse background laid the foundation for a career marked by versatility and skill. From his early years as a prodigious talent to his evolution into a seasoned adult actor, he became widely recognized for his portrayal of villains, infusing each character with volatility and intensity.
He owns Gannon Performance Studio where he teaches and coaches working actors. He has taught at Atlanta's Tony-Award- Winning Alliance Theater and coached actors who have worked on Netflix, Disney, Marvel, HBO, NBC, CBS, The Discovery Channel, ID Network, Tyler Perry, Warner Brothers, American Film Company, 20th Century Fox, national and regional commercials, independent films, industrials, and in countless professional and regional theaters. He is a member of The National Alliance of Acting Teachers, AACE (Canada's Association of Acting Coaches and Educators), and serves as Co-President of iACT (International Acting Coaches Team).
With a broad base in performance, some of his theater credits include Hamletmachine at 7 Stages, Conscience in Attic at the Atlanta Fringe Festival, Astrov in Uncle Vanya at the Cellar Theater, the roles of Cathy and Joshua in Studio 109's Cloud 9, Friendly in Friendly's Fire at the Classic City Fringe, Vince in Kiss of the Vampire at the Process, DeSoto in Unto the Hills, Ichabod Crane in Rose of Athens touring company performance of Sleepy Hollow, Lucentio in Taming of the Shrew, Hamlet/ Juliet/ Othello in The Complete works of William Shakespeare at Circle Ensemble, Brabantio in Othello as a University of Georgia Alumni Artist, reading of Milo in Splinters at Alliance Theater, Dougie in Process theater's The Dead Guy, and a soloist in Jaques Brel is Alive and Living in Paris.
He has directed stage productions such as A Rhyme Deferred at The Black Theater Ensemble examining the effects of commercialism on art, a devised project, Our Hope, Our Church which explored the intersection of sexuality and spirituality in conjunction with The Metropolitan Community Church, Forget Him by Harvey Fierstein, The Lover by Pinter, Brilliant Traces by Cindy Lou Johnson, and Coax by Neil LaBute. He wrote and performed his solo performance, SpUnOwT at the Process Theater in Atlanta and The Cellar Theater in Athens.
