Yoodlee Films, the film studio of Saregama India Limited, has released the first look poster of ‘Bazooka’, its big-budget Malayalam action thriller featuring superstar Mammootty.

The poster features Mammootty as the central figure in a dimly lit space next to a bike almost as if he is about to embark on the journey of a lifetime. The filming of ‘Bazooka’ began on May 10 in Ernakulam, Kerala. It is being helmed by debutant director Deeno Dennis and also stars Gautham Menon.

Talking about the film, Dennis said: “As I have said before, I always dreamt of working with Mammootty sir and this poster has finally brought that dream to life. I feel so thrilled to see his commanding presence in a story that I always wanted to tell. I can’t wait to share the teaser and eventually the film, which is truly the labour of love for all of us.

Superstar Mammootty, who has had a great year at the box office so far, has commenced shooting for the upcoming thriller film ‘Bazooka’ at his home district Ernakulam. Directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, the son of legendary scriptwriter Kaloor Dennis who worked in 24 films starring Mammootty, ‘Bazooka’ is a crime thriller with numerous twists and turns.

The film is produced by Yoodlee Films, the arm of Saregama India Limited, while Theatre of Dreams is the co-producer.

The film also stars Gautam Menon, Sunny Wayne, Jagdish, Divya Pillai, and Aishwaraya Menon in key roles. The cinematography is by Nimesh Ravi.

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 27 (Ians) Even as his debut movie is getting ready for release, Malayalam debut director Joseph Manu James has died just at an age of 31. The last rites were held on Sunday at Kuravilangad of Kerala’s Kottayam district.

Joseph Manu James had passed away on Friday while undergoing treatment for hepatitis at a private hospital in Aluva. He had recently completed shooting for his first directorial venture ‘Nancy Rani’ and post-production work is still in progress.

The movie features Ahaana Krishna, Sunny Wayne, Aju Varghese, and Arjun Ashokan, among others.

“Gone too soon brother,” actor Aju Varghese posted on his Instagram handle.

Starting off as a child actor in 2004 in ‘I am curious’, Manu Joseph went on to become an assistant director in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi movies.

Maybe he wants it to be read. It contains the biggest case he is remembered by – the murder of a man by another who tried to pass the body off as his own for personal benefits. On cue, the first page of the diary is opened by someone, and there is the photo of the missing criminal – Kurup. Dulquer Salmaan with long hair and a closely trimmed beard. These first shots of Kurup, the film, take you straight to the story of a real-life murder, peppered with fiction, but almost as loyal as a biographical account. The criminal Sukumara Kurup was never caught in real life.

Facebook Fined £50m By UK Competition Authority

Facebook has been fined £50.5m ($69.6m) by the UK’s Competition Markets Authority (CMA) for breaching an order imposed during an investigation into the purchase of Giphy. The penalty should be a warning that no company is above the law, said the CMA, which claimed Facebook had failed to provide full updates about competition compliance relating to the acquisition of the gif platform. Separately, the CMA fined Facebook £500,000 for changing its Chief Compliance Officer on two separate occasions without seeking consent.
