The new spy thriller Chief of Station is set to hit stateside. The film, which stars Aaron Eckhart and Olga Kurylenko, comes from the production companies Bee Holder Productions and Concourse Media Film. The movie has now also secured a distributor as Vertical purchased the U.S. rights and has plans to release the project domestically in May 2024. Matthew Shreder, a producer on the film, says, “Chief of Station is an elevated spy thriller that delivers impressive action, suspense and Bond-esque vibes. Vertical is the perfect partner to bring this film to audiences nationwide and we look forward to seeing them launch it in a few months.”

Exclusive: Vertical has acquired U.S. rights to spy thriller Chief of Station starring Aaron Eckhart, Olga Kurylenko and Alex Pettyfer.

The Bee Holder Productions and Concourse Media film is being lined up for a May 2024 domestic release.

Eckhart plays Ben, a former CIA European Station Chief whose world comes crumbling down after his wife, a former operative, dies in a terrible accident. After receiving cryptic information that his wife’s death might not have been an accident, Ben heads back into the shadowy underworld of Eastern Europe, teaming up with a former adversary to unravel a conspiracy that challenges everything he thought he knew about his wife and the agency he worked at for more than 20 years.

Supporting cast includes Nick Moran, Chris Petrovski, Daniel Bernhardt, James Faulkner, Laetitia Eido, Isobel Wood and Nina Bergman.

The film was written by George Mahaffey (Heatseekers) and directed by Jesse V. Johnson. Producers are Steve Lee Jones for Bee Holder and Matthew Shreder for Concourse.

Concourse handles sales and has sold the project around the world. Financiers include Ashland Hill Media Finance, Filmology Finance, Blue Rider Media, and Tip-Top Productions. Other producers include Simon Williams, Daniel Kresmery and Jonathan Halperyn.

Exclusive: Magic Mike and I Am Number Four actor Alex Pettyfer is joining the Alec Baldwin-Olga Kurylenko action spy thriller Chief of Station, which starts production in November.

Pettyfer will play John Branca, a CIA agent overseeing a European intelligence division who’s been a steady hand for more than ten years and trusted ally to Ben Malloy (played by Baldwin), a legendary CIA Chief of Station. When Ben’s wife is killed in what appears to be a terrible accident, Branca takes over Ben’s old position as head of all Eastern European clandestine operations. But where do his loyalties lie?

Chris Petrovski has also boarded the feature project, and will take on the role of Ben’s son, Nick. He starred in the Ray Donovan movie and was a series regular on Madame Secretary.

Nell Teare, the writer-director-star of the indie film “Bolivar,” faced this challenge head on in telling the story of Maggie (Teare), a professor trying to resume her career and family life after a crushing personal tragedy and divorce. She stifles her sadness by downing glasses of wine and managing a one-night stand with Jake, a bartender (Chris Petrovski) who gets pulled into her increasingly odd behavior.

In a Q&a with TheWrap’s Awards Executive Editor Steve Pond on Aug. 31, Teare was joined by her costar Robert Pine, producing partner Jerry Cope, editor Noah Harald, and casting director Jamie Castro for a special screening in L.A. During the discussion, the writer-director explained that she drew from personal experience to tell this story.

On Monday, Liev Schreiber posted a photo from the set of his upcoming Ray Donovan film, teasing his reunion with four longtime co-stars.

“I will miss this particular gaggle of actors very very much,” the actor wrote on his official Instagram account. “@raydonovan #comingsoon.”

In the photo, Schreiber is seen huddling up with Kerris Dorsey, Dash Mihok, Pooch Hall and Eddie Marsan. On Ray Donovan, Dorsey played Ray’s daughter, Bridget; Mihok played his younger brother, Bunchy. Hall played Ray’s younger half-brother Daryll, while Marsan played his older brother, Terry.

The acclaimed crime drama created by Ann Biderman aired for seven seasons on Showtime between 2013 and 2019. It centered on Schreiber’s professional “fixer” of the same name, watching as he arranged bribes, payoffs, threats, crime-scene clean-up, and other illegal activities on behalf of his (usually) celebrity clients.

While the series was officially canceled in February of 2020, the follow-up film was announced a year later.

Ray Donovan fans will soon see a Madam Secretary star dealing with Liev Schreiber. Chris Petrovski has been added to the cast of the film that's been ordered by Showtime. The Ray Donovan series was cancelled by the cable channel after seven seasons. While the movie will pick up where season seven left off, there's been no indication that there won't be additional films in the future.

Exclusive: Chris Petrovski (Madam Secretary) has joined the cast of the forthcoming Ray Donovan feature-length film.

Petrovski will play rising Hollywood star Sean Walker in the movie, which will continue Ray’s journey following the hit drama series’ seven-season run on Showtime.

Star Liev Schreiber returns in his titular role and co-writes the script along with series showrunner David Hollander, who also directs.

The new film picks up where season seven left off following the series’ surprise cancellation last year, with Mickey (Jon Voight) in the wind and Ray (Schreiber) determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

The Ray Donovan film is executive produced by Hollander, Schreiber, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro.

Tormented at home and at school, a troubled teenager faces new challenges when a recently infected blood-sucker holes up at the bottom of the garden

Orphaned teenager Stan (Jay Jay Warren) has been forced to live with his abusive grandfather Ellis in a house on the edge of some nowheresville. At school, he and his slightly weedier friend, Dommer (Cody Kostro), are regularly bullied by a jock thug (Chris Petrovski) who, just to rub salt in the wounds, has a thing going with Roxy (Sofia Happonen), the girl Stan has had a crush on for years.

Into this classic teen-drama set up, writer-director Frank Sabatella injects a goofy horror element: a newly infected vampire (Frank Whaley), desperate to avoid burning sunlight, holes himself up in the shed at the bottom of Stan’s garden and starts picking off every creature that comes near, starting with an unfortunate alsatian dog.

Actors Nicole Shipley and Atli Oskar Fjalarsson have been added to the cast of the upcoming thriller film Sable.

Shipley has been in several films (Club Lingerie, Guardians of The Galaxy, Jailbait) and Fjalarsson is an Icelandic actor that was written up in Variety as one of the rising stars from Europe.

When speaking about the actors, Director Michael Matteo Rossi told us "Having known Nicole for a few years now and having worked with her on a past film; I was indeed thrilled to have her come on board. After I cast Nicole, I thought of Atli (who I had met somewhat recently) to play the boyfriend and they had fantastic chemistry together on set and were a joy to work with. The interesting thing about both of them is that they are young stars truly on the rise and really added to the overall quality of the film.

The line-up for this year's Film4 FrightFest in London has just been announced – and boy, is it a doozy! Sporting a record-breaking 38 UK/European premieres and 11 world premieres, this August is going to be an exciting time in the genre calendar.

This year Film4 FrightFest will be moving from its previous home at Leicester Square's Empire Cinema to the nearby Vue Cinema (also on Leicester Square), prompting an ingenious reshuffle of the screening arrangements.

All main screen films will be presented at different times across three different screens, with two extra screens reserved for single-slot screenings of the various films hitting this year's Discovery Screens.

Image Entertainment announced today that they have acquired all Us rights to All Cheerleaders Die, the high school-set comedy horror- thriller written and directed by Lucky McKee (May, The Woman) and Chris Sivertson that premiered this year as the opening night film in the Midnight Madness section at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars Caitlin Stasey, Sianoa Smit-McPhee, and introduces Tom Williamson. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in spring 2014.

When tragedy rocks Blackfoot High, rebellious outsider M&#228ddy Killian shocks the student body by joining the cheerleading squad. This decision drives a rift between M&#228ddy and her ex-girlfriend Leena Miller - a loner who claims to practice the dark arts. After a confrontation with the football team, M&#228ddy and her new cheerleader friends are sent on a supernatural roller coaster ride which leaves a path of destruction none of them may be able to escape.

All Cheerleaders Die could be described as a cross pollination of horror, sex comedies, action, non-ironic romance and straight up fantasy. And it's also a supernatural thriller, but which captures the reality of the times. Exclusive: Matthew Shreder and James Andrew Felts’ production and sales company Continental Media has licensed French rights to the prison break thriller to Kmbo Distribution.

The film premiered at SXSW and is scheduled to appear at a number of major festivals to be announced shortly. To date it has screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival and Champs Elysee Film Festival, among others. It won the audience award at Cinema At The Edge.

Bellflower producer Vincent Grashaw made his feature directorial debut on the story about a new inmate who refuses to buckle under a brutal juvenile prison regime. Coldwater stars Pj Boudousqué [pictured], Chris Petrovski, James C Burns and Nicholas Bateman.

“Coldwater is a hardcore escape thriller with breakout commercial potential,” said Shreder, who negotiated the Coldwater deal with Kmbo CEO Vladimir Kokh.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Kmbo and look forward to its theatrical release in France next year.”...

South by Southwest (SXSW) is just one of many film festivals, we here at Sound On Sight cover yearly. The fest, which takes place every spring in Austin, Texas, began in 1987, and has continued to grow in size every year. The fest announced the first wave of films back in early January, and the lineup included some highly anticipated films such as The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Evil Dead, Downloaded and Spring Breakers. Now the full lineup has been announced, and it just might be one of the best lineups the festival has ever programmed.

SXSW takes place March 8-16 in Austin Texas. Here are just some of the films we are excited about.

Bellflower producer Vincent Grashaw gets into the director’s chair for Coldwater, a drama-thriller about a teenage boy who is placed in a “wilderness juvenile center” overseen by a malevolent army veteran. Produced by Grashaw, Kris Dorrance, Dave Gare and Sarah Farrand and co-written by Grashaw with Mark Penney, Coldwater was originally slated to shoot in 2004 with a different director at the helm and a high-profile cast. Now, Grashaw is directing with a cast of unknowns including P.J. Boudousque (above in an exclusive shot from the film), Chris Petrovski and Scott MacArthur. Filming throughout California, Coldwater is being produced by Gare Farrand Entertainment, Skipping Stone Entertainment and Flying Pig Productions.
